According to Goki, fundamentals were everything. "You have to keep yourself in motion when fighting an opponent up close." He heard his sensei state as they opposed each other maybe a foot I between them, Shenjie felt the vibrations in the ground which painted a perfect picture of his sensei's first Goutetsu fighting stance. "So, with that being said, let me show you one of Goutetsu's most fundamental techniques." His sensei said coming closer to Shenjie. "Extend your arm as if you were punching." Goki requested as they faced each other with a matched first stance. Shenjie heeded the command and extended his right arm forward into a strike. He now watched his sensei's vibrations as he placed his right foot behind Shenjie's left foot. Both of Goki's feet were pointed inwards towards each other and kept his balance in equilibrium. Suddenly, his sensei had gotten behind him in a rotational motion. The speed of the movement was unbelievable, and was absolutely helpful when fighting someone should had a blind spot, sadly Shenjie was not one of those people.
"What was that?" Shenjie asked his sensei as he turned to face him. The odd maneuver had interested him quite a bit. "That was called a Mittsu Kasho Sutando, it's designed to set you up for a throw or a jab to the throat or body with your arm closest to the opponent." Goki said simply as he got back into his fighting stance and extended his arm out into a punch. "It's now your turn my pupil." He said as Shenjie got into the first fighting stance. Shenjie noticed that whatever lead hand was being used with the punch was the opposite foot that you put your foot behind. "So like this?" He asked as he slowly began to preform the maneuver. He first placed his right foot behind his sensei's left, keeping his body balanced by turning his feet to face each other. The odd stance at this point would be easy to sweep an opponent from. Shenjie took not of that as he pulled his body forward in a shift that put him behind his sensei. He felt the motion, using vibrations to keep a tab on his sensei as he made behind him clumsily the first time around. "Pretty good, but this time do it a little quicker...muscle memory of everything." Goki said turning to face his student.
Alright Shenjie thought as he now faced his sensei in the same stance that they always took. He felt the vibrations shift as his teacher now threw a real punch his way. Shenjie analyzed the strike before it even initiated. Taking his right foot as he had done before and placing it behind his teacher's foot. He pulled his body close to Goki's as he now stood behind him. Taking his right elbow, he quickly threw his elbow lightly at the back of Goki's neck. This strike would have been much more effective if it had not been for the duck that Shenjie sensed his teacher preform follows by a complete sweep kick. The kick threw him off balance like he had analyzed the first time he had attempted The technique. As his balance was thrown off, his Shitakuma natural instincts kicked in. He used his body mass and special ear fluids to allow himself to land on his feet like a cat. "You've got to be weary of counterattack when preforming this technique." Goki said as his student lands on his feet.
"Now again, and this time fight!" Goki said throwing a punch with his left hand trying to throw off Shenjie's pattern. Shenjie however was prepared for this. Without hesitation, Shenjie quickly took his left foot and placed it swiftly behind his sensei's right foot. Pulling himself behind Goki as he as last time he again tried to use his elbow, this time his left, to jab his teacher in the back of the neck. Shenjie expected and sensed the duck this time, which allowed him to use his teacher's ducked body to roll over him so that r was now behind him as he preformed a sweep kick that sent him attacking amusing target. As Shenjie got out of the roll, he swiftly grapes his teacher's shoulder and threw him over his shoulder. He watched as his teacher stiffened his body to reduce the impact of the toss as much as possible. "That was pretty good!" His teacher exclaimed as he pulled his medal up off of the ground. "Not bad at all" he finished the wound a thumbs up his way as his method of approval.
