Personality:
Tempered.
Yoshiné is a mild tempered teenager who has the interests of her village at heart. Following rules and guidelines, there's nothing that would indicate her as rebellious - unlike many of the people her age. The young female appreciates peacefulness and silence, while hefty noise and chaos is something she despises beyond belief. Games like Shogi and Chess are valued highly, as they require perception and intelligence to win. Two traits Yoshinee values a lot higher than brute strenght and recklessness.
It takes a lot to bring Yoshinee to the point where anger really shines through. However, when it does happen, may god have mercy upon your soul - For Yoshinee will not.
An ironbound mind.
When it comes to friends and foes, Yoshinee is about as stalwart as you can get. Willing to go lenghts and bounds for her friends, she's also a person to command loyalty and respect from them in turn. Once you've crossed her path, be it by accident or on purpose, it is almost impossible to get on good terms with her again. Even so, Yoshinee is not one to seek revenge. It is more in her nature to let the douchebags of the world dig their own graves. If an open opportunity does show itself, she's not pale to the idea of punishing others mistakes however. Law, order and justice is valued highly by the young kunoichi.
Desires and goals.
The only thing Yoshinee desires is peace and prosperity. Having lived poorly and known the worst pits of hunger, every day she strives to become strong enough that the fate may not be bestowed upon others. Justice, an angel, or the devil himself. Yoshinee has a determination and will of steel. Nothing shall stop her from reaching her goals and achieving justice. Nothing. For every weakness, Yoshinee will create herself five strenghts. Such is her mentality.
Yoshinee's sense of Justice is quite advanced, and she'll often attempt to bring the scales of justice as close to equal as she can. Even so, her sense of justice has slowly been skewed through time, which has planted a seed in her heart that could be corrupted by the skillful - For when it comes down to it, what is true justice, and who is to decide how justice looks?
The Solitary.
Yoshinee has never been one to seek the social recognition of others, nor has she ever had the need to. Through the stories she likes to write and read, she feels like she has enough interaction with other material. Never attending parties or playground games, she's often shrouded in a veil of mystery. Even her own village doesn't seem to fully know her. The few friends she has, have come to find her dependable and honest though. While they have to accept the fact that Yoshinee is never going to be the one sitting around drinking coffee and having long talks, they also know she'd never turn her back on them when trouble hits the fan.
- As of late, Yoshinee has found more and more reason to get to know others. The fact that the few friends she's gained has proven to her that loyalty and banding together can prove benefactory for all sides.
Passing Judgement.
In only one aspect does Yoshinee take on another form from her usual silence - when passing judgement. Every once in a while a conflict cannot be evaded. At those specific times it is almost as if Yoshinee grows a pair of dark wings. Those who are guilty deserve to be erased. Those who obstruct justice to an unneccesary degree deserve to taste the never-ending slumber. Once Yoshinee has judged an enemy, she'll do everything inside her capabilities to pass punishment. Death, cripples, eternal ailments. In those moments, the quiet girl has taken on the mind of a demon, and the fighting style of a murderer.
The Prudent.
Yoshinee always thinks two or three steps ahead of the situation she is currently in, never making any rash, un-neccesary or reckless moves. Believing in always having a next step should the current plan fail, Yoshinee has developed a certain sense of strategy when it comes to.. pretty much anything. In discussions, in battles, in drama, in games... It doesn't matter, Yoshinee will always find the least troublesome way out of any pinch, and has been known to win games that for others would've seemed completely unwinnable.
- It also means Yoshinee is extremely hard to surprise with anything. If things are within the realm of reasonable, it is likely she has thought about that outcome before you did.
The Introspective.
Even if Yoshinee has been branching out more and gotten to know more people over time, she'll always prefer to be in her own company, to being in the company of someone demanding her attention. Rethinking situations of the past, attempting to come up with a better answer, reflecting over the new answer and all sorts of mental processes are what runs through her mind. Enjoying to meditate, Yoshinee has come up with a way of viewing past situations almost like movies.
- Yoshinee has gained a keen eye for detail, and tends to not miss anything that has been or is being said to her. This is one of the reasons people absolutely loathe arguing with her. Its simply impossible.
The Astute.
Yoshinee has a keen eye for detail, as mentioned. This allows her to be taught things extremely fast comparing her to regular people. Wheter its something that has been written in a book, or something someone is displaying for her in person, she'll pick up on it reasonably fast. By going through the reflective cycle, Yoshinee is also capable of quickly intercepting mistakes or flaws in the things she has been doing. So to say, she's a very competent learner in all the fields she has been attempting to get better.
- Yoshinee enjoys spending time reading. Preferably it needs have some kind of theory behind it, that Yoshinee can then start to understand. If the theory is something she can use for anything, she'll store it in the back of her mind forever.
The Negotiator.
Yoshinee has an ability to always see through weak arguements, and respect strong arguements. This has allowed her to earn diplomatic skills. Preferring to use her keen mind to escape arguements and trouble than her brawn, she has also spoken for her own situation in Yuki-gakure. Having talked the Yukikage into allowing her as a transfer-student is only a small testament to the abilities Yoshinee has at handling language.Appearance
Body features.
Yoshinee is excruciatingly slim, to the point where it could almost be considered sickening. The young Nin's eyes are deep crimson with a tendency to sparkle, often easily drawing attention towards them. Underlying the crimson red, there's a slight tint of green lurking, making her eyes have a demonic appearance when you get close enough to notice. The nose is somewhat short, and her chin round and soft. As if from the rain, her lips have turned more grey than red. Likewise, her skin sickeningly pale, making her appear almost like a walking dead at times, if it wasn't for the eyes filled with life. As for Yoshinee's curves, she is outfitted rather nicely from natures side. Even so, she'd be a lot more appealing if she'd be able to gain some weight to furtherly fill out the curves. She's just a bit too thin, and looking at her doesn't leave you in doubt about her being quite fragile.
Hairstyle.
Yoshinee has shoulder long hair, which was originally so dark-brown that it bordered being black. In recent times she has been experimenting with different colors, ranging from blue to green. However, following the advice of a Yukigakure hair-dresser, Yoshinee ended up going with a red-brown style. When around the house, she'll generally prefer having her hair set up in a pony-tail, while she's more than likely to let it hang loose during fights, training or missions. Having no especially tight connection to the way she looks, Yoshinee is still slightly careful with how her hair looks. Realising she'd look like a zombie with a bad-hair day.
Dressing; Casually.
When dressing for casual occasions, Yoshinee prefers long robes, often times with a large hood that can be pulled all the way over her head, disguising her appearance almost completely. Yoshinee also enjoys other casual looking accessories, such as necklaces and ear-rings. Anything that can make her look civillian and relaxed. Her footwear consists of a pair of regular snow-boots that reaches halfway up her shin. Underneath, Yoshinee usually ends up dressing slightly too cold, often merely wearing a t-shirt and a pair of jogging pants. It makes her feel more relaxed having loose clothes on, where as the tighter her clothes were, the more she'd feel tense. There's no particular style to her current casual clothing, as she's mostly borrowing from Rogue.
Dressing; Combat/Missions.
First and foremost, Yoshinee always wear the headband; Either around her neck or around her head, making sure that it is easily spottable. At her neck, underneath where she'd normally place the headband, a light metal plating is guarding her from being hit too directly. This leads onto the shoulder-guards, which are practically non-existant. On each arm she has a pair of defensive bracers tied, while wearing a pair of black gloves to protect her hands from immediate harm. Onto the bracers, Yoshinee has placed her weapons - the dual katars, for easily manageable weapons. The chestpiece is practically focussing defense around her upper chest region, while leaving the stomach quite open for attack - This is to keep the armor light, while also allowing easy movements.
The boots are strapped tightly to her feet, and practically becomes a part of her body. The shinbone protectors lead up to just under the knee, where regular fabric takes over. In cold weather, this fabric goes all the way up her thighs. While it doesn't offer protection, it does keep Yoshinee relatively warm, even in harsh weather.
Mood and empathy.
When anyone lays eyes on Yoshinee, they'll generally get the sensation that she's a girl with her legs solid planted on the ground. Almost always seen with a warm smile on her lips and a spark in her eyes, the young kunoichi's appearance is really hard to link to her current mood. However, when her appearance and expressions do allow others a look into the more private areas, it is apparent that she masters the body-language well enough to convey any message. On missions, Yoshinee's face might aswell have been an ANBU mask, as prying any kind of feeling from it is near impossible. Stone cold.
The mysterious aging.
Yoshinee appears younger than she actually is. Compared to most others of her age, she's simply not been growing as fast, and its been as if something has continually tapped energy from her body. This has meant that almost regardless of how much she has had to eat, or how much she has wished to be like everyone else, seeming gap between Yoshinee and those of her age, they keep looking older and growing taller, while Yoshinee still seems like a twelve year-old.The body; Strenght and weaknesses.
Yoshinee has a frail and fragile body in general, which means she is not suited well for close-quarters-combat. The young kunoichi is not capable of going toe to toe with Academy students that exceed at Taijutsu, and as such she has been called quite pathetic at Taijutsu on numerous occasions.
Being quite thin, you'd normally assume that Yoshinee has a good sense of agility, and she does. What she lacks in capabilty of taking punches, she adds up in the ability to twist away from attacks and dodging the most dangerous part of the punches. That and her sharp eyes allows her to do extremely well at ranged combat. In the mid to long-range category, you'll have a hard time finding a shinobi more specialised.
Accessories, specials.
On her neck, Yoshinee has a black tatoo-like figure of a phoenix rising. The brand was given to her by a group of bandits at the local town she used to live in, about a days way from Amegakure. The branding has long since lost its meaning as the bandits have long since been dismantled by forces unknown. Now Yoshinee is attempting to give it its own meaning.
Around her neck Yoshinee often carries an amulet that has been handed down to her from her family. The amulet is a round circle carved out in jade stone, carrying the family-symbol of the Yokubori. It was her parents belief that the ancestors of the family would be at the aid of whoever carried the amulet. As such, when Yoshinee had fallen gravely sick, the amulet had been handed down to her.
Amegakure's headband is also always on her persona. While it may not constantly be strapped around her forehead, she'll never leave it behind. It is to her like a treasures are to the rich. After having recieved the snow-mothers blessing, the Yukigakure headband has replaced the Ame-headband, which is now mainly a relic. A relic that she intends to be returning to, at some point in time.
Background.
At the time of birth..
The rain was drumming ever so softly on the glass of the window. A sound that seemed to be telling a story of yet another rainy day in the Hidden Rain. The 12th of August and the fog has just rolled in. Skirmishes had been telling a story of blood, theft and robbery near the little home. A newborn crying her lungs out, as her happy parents were hugging each other, relieved that the birth had been without any kind of complications, and that their daughter had opened her crimson eyes to the world.
The young years..
A few years had passed, and Yoshinee had long since stopped being an infant and moved on to being a child. Six years of age, she wasn't always at the best health. Often sick, Yoshinee almost spent more time in bed than outside. Even so, there were so many things she learned. Reading books, the young one expanded her knowledge rapidly. Shortly after Yoshinee had become unbeatable in Shogi, at a very young age. When not playing games, Yoshinee spent alot of time writing fairy tales and selling them to other grown-ups who had come to appreciate her stories greatly, and grant them to their children as quite cheap gifts. In the remaining spare time, she did chores around the house, earning a little penny from her mother every once in a while. The money she had earned she kept tucked away underneath a wooden plank in her room. The plank was a lose tile in her floor, perfect for hiding small objects. There the money would remain untill she'd really need them.
It wasn't long after Yoshinee had turned eight, that the fairy tale image of the world had started to falter rapidly. Yoshinee's father had lost his job as an advisor, as things had been going poorly for his overlord. The overlord had threathened to have him killed for his incompetence - he had barely escaped with his life. About the same time, Yoshinee's sickness had risen to a degree where her parents doubted she'd overcome her weakness, her sickness. As if hanging onto the only sliver of hope that remained, Yoshinee's mother had tied the Yokubori amulet - an amulet that was said to guide the ancestors of their family to guard the one carrying it - around the neck of Yoshinee who was sleeping most of her time away in bed.
The turning point.
There is a saying that things have to go worse before they can go better. In Yoshinee's case, everything just seemed to be going worse, and only worse, constantly. Unconcious with fever, a gang of bandits ravaged their home, sent by the request of their overlord, the old employer of Yoshinee's father. Yoshinee's parents were slaughtered in the living room, they didn't stand a chance to defend themselves, while the other bandits were ravaging through their belongings to make up for the loss Yoshinee's father had cost their overlord. When the bandits encroached upon Yoshinee, they found it much more appealing to let the young one die of her fevers, than ending her misery. Deciding not to leave her completely unscatched should she wake up, they left a black brand on her neck. The brand was that of a black phoenix, normally used as a warning of fire and flame, destruction and demons.
...Once Yoshinee woke up, her fever had disappeared and so had the rain. The thick smell of blood was overpowering every other of her senses as she staggeringly walked out to find her parents dead on the floor in a pool of blood. All their clothes had been split by the blades of weapons, laying scattered across their house in a humiliating fashion. Lamps were broken, and Yoshinee had stepped in the glass, leaving her feet cut and bleeding. Instead of being overcome by grief, it seemed as if everything inside the young girl died at that moment. Crying was no longer an option, giving up was no longer an option. Only the path of justice could be walked from here on. Checking out the burning sensation on her neck in one of the broken pieces of their mirror, it also became apparent that whoever had assaulted their home, had marked her. They had branded her as dangerous and vile. Corrupt. Yoshinee vowed to change the color of her phoenix, by becoming like the burning Phoenix itself. To rise from the ashes, to bring about a new age, to usher in justice! To survive she'd have to be strong, she'd have to move on and she'd have to never give up. Digging out the plank, Yoshinee collected the money she had been saving up and tied them to her belt in a purse. The remainder of their food storage was carefully laid in her bag. Using some of the scraps of clothes, she bandaged her feet to the best of her ability. It had taken a while to clean them from the shards of broken glass that had gotten stuck. Before moving out of the door, Yoshinee fell to her knees and said a prayer, that the spirits of her parents may be granted safe passage to the next world. Then the young girl left, never to grant another look back at what she had lost.
The threads of fate.
... but so little money and so scarce food can only last one so long. While others in the country had plenty, Yoshinee was starving, trying to make a living by taking whichever small-jobs she found available. Carrying things, being a messenger, singing and dancing at the theater. Small petty jobs that anyone could do, even if it was harsh work on her already fragile body. That could by no means be the justice that was intended for this world. The life of a beggar or parttime worker wasn't enough to sustain her life, and every single day she knew she was slowly losing strenght. Yoshinee knew that she'd eventually have to steal... or die. The first experiences doing something that goes against your morals are always the worst. Attempting to sneak up on a fat lady with a truncheon of apples, she had distracted the lady by letting lose a rat she had caught over by the sewers. The lady noticed the rat amongst her wares and immediately tried to bludgeon it to death. As the chaos was ensued, Yoshinee found opportunity to steal a good amount of apples. The first experience is always the worst, yet the more she stole the better she became. While she wasn't fast enough or agile enough to make some of the more fancy manuvers, Yoshine was keen at abusing deception to draw the shopkeepers away from her prize. The life she was living as a thief were many times better than the honest life she had been fighting to uphold. At night, Yoshinee had carved an opening into an old hollow tree. It was enough to keep her sheltered, and by hanging a piece of brown cloth in front of the self-made entrance, Yoshinee would also be very hard to spot. Everything that the young girl had was in that tree.
To survive..
However, there was only so little that Yoshinee could manage to do completely on her own. The young girl preferred to be on her own, but being together with others exponentially increased what she'd be able to acquire. The gang was a band of kids from various different backgrounds. For some, like Yoshinee, stealing was the only way they could survive. For others, stealing was merely a way to gain more cash. It was a way to quenching their greed. The last stereotype were the adrenaline junkies. Having nothing better to do, and never being acknowledged, stealing was a way to express themselves.
Yoshinee hated the gang, and hated that she felt forced to partake in it.. but she'd have to cling on to life, and become part of the worst scum in the world, only to have a chance at making it right down the road.
Being discovered.
On a fateful night a few years ago, a man came travelling through the area nearby. Having seen and acknowledged that he was a shinobi, Yoshinee knew that he'd be carrying weapons with him. In these parts, weapons sold like warm bread, and at prices that would make them their weight worth in gold. It was a prize so grand that Yoshinee couldn't keep her fingers to herself. Setting up a series of distractions, Yoshinee went in for the weapons bag in the middle of the night. As the distractions went off, the young girl was sure that she'd be able to slip away with the bag. However, before she even managed to take a single step, his hands closed around her wrist. Contemplating her skills, and knowing that the girl was all alone, the man shook his head and commanded her to travel with him - or lose her hand as the petty thief she was. Feeling rather attached to her limbs, Yoshinee chose to follow him. The Shinobi was leading Yoshinee towards a place that would soon become her new home. - Amegakure..
Not long after her arrival, Yoshine had been accepted into the Amegakure Academy. The innate abilities she had at deception, and the workings of the mind quickly impressed the tutors. The fact that she was learning fast and flawlessly, meant that she'd quickly catch up to her classmates, and even take over some of them without trouble at all. Yoshinee had begun training to become a shinobi, and had been saved from a petty life as a thief...
School life.
While Yoshinee wasn't one to be hyped over boys, nor one to be open and make a lot of friends, she did feel like she had gotten a new home, gotten a second chance. Also, peculiar enough, ever since she left her home she hasn't fallen sick even once. Even so, her physique has left much to be desired for a shinobi. The young female however, had an innate ability to control chakra. The expansive mind and life she had been living assisted her in causing realistic illusions, which became her greatest weapon.
A year passed, and the Genin exams were coming up. Passing her exams to become a Genin without any trouble at all, Yoshinee was now awaiting the opportunity to move onwards. At first, Yoshinee wasn't assigned to a team, because she didn't particularily have bonds with anyone, but later on a Chuunin was assigned to assist in her training. To be put onto a team that made sense, they'd have to know what the young kunoichi was actually capable of underneath the surface. Not too long after, it also became apparent to the Chuunin that Yoshinee had an innate talent with the element of water. Though it had taken her quite a while to find her strenghts, the rapid pace at which she learned techniques and branched out was qutie formidable. It was arranged that Yoshinee should be placed onto a team in the near future. First however, Yoshinee had been allowed to travel to her birthplace, in an attempt to make up with the past that she had left unfinished.
Fate is impossible to predict.
Going to the local market, Yoshinee found, after long search, a travelling merchant who were headed in the right direction. Offering her skills as protection for him on the travels, she was allowed to travel alongside him - and even partake in some of his rations for the journey. That'd be his payment for her protection. After about a days travel, they had arrived in one of the darkest and poorest places of the country. What met Yoshinee at her old home, was only melancholy and forgotten memories. Wounds which opened themselves up once again. Everything there had been razed to the ground. There weren't even any graves to find, so the greatest token of respect Yoshinee could show for her dead parents, was raising a cross with some of the half-rotten wood that had once comprised their home. Laying a couple of flowers underneath the makeshift cross, Yoshinee returned to the merchant and continued travelling. This would be the last time she'd arrive at this cursed place... While the merchant wasn't returning to Amegakure, he had made it apparent that at a little fare towards the border of Fire, she could likely catch a ride back home. Agreeing that it would be the best course of action, Yoshinee kept riding with the merchant.
However, the merchant had had other plans. As they reached fire, Yoshinee was feeling sick and tired. Having to throw up every once in a while, and barely being able to stand on her feet. Everything was getting blurry, and as she complained her ailness to the merchant, he seized the opportunity and assaulted her. Yoshinee was tied up in the back of his wagon, and even blindfolded. The merchant had been sedating the rations that Yoshinee had been eating, and now she had no other option but to be in his care.
Breaking free, new opportunity.
Not sure how long had passed, it had at least turned dark outside. Using one of the academy techniques, Yoshinee was able to loosen the ropes slightly over time. After about half an hour had passed, Yoshinee was able to get herself loose. Yoshinee was still feeling quite weak, and the lack of body control also meant that she wouldn't likely be able to overpower the merchant who was riding the cart out front. The hunger and the remaining sedatives in her system made it hard to do any actions, even to think clearly. Hearing up front that the merchant was laughing at the idea of selling a shinobi as a slave, Yoshinee made a break for it. Getting out of the wagon, Yoshinee tumbled down a hill from the road they had been driving on. Tumbling like a ragged doll, Yoshinee ended up lying around in a pile of snow, the cold biting at her immediately. Sedated, tired and frozen, everything was pointing towards a death in the merciless snow. Just before going unconcious however, Yoshinee was found by a Hidden Snow shinobi. Rogue Guinevere. Escorted to Yozamu, Yoshinee and Rogue attended a meeting with the Yukikage at the time - Ace. After a series of interrogations, and after she had gotten back on her feet, regaining some of her health, Yoshinee was allowed sanctum within Yukigakure. At least until she'd be able to travel back home..
A few days after having settled down in Rogue's appartment, Yoshinee was called forth to the Academy grounds by none other than Ace himself. Wishing to assess Yoshinee's potential, they did a minor series of exchanges, where Yoshinee gave it everything she had to impress the kage. Having deemed Yoshinee competent as a shinobi, she was granted the Yukigakure headband, and permission to undertake missions for the village. Now she serves the Hidden Snow as a representative of the Hidden Rain. The goal for Yoshinee is to assist in making the bonds and peace between the two villages something that is to stay. Yoshinee feels that at current point, this is the best she can do to be a protector and guardian of peace and justice. Wanting to impress the inhabitants of Snow, Yoshinee now has even more reason to be working hard, and giving it her everything, every single day. A dedication that wasn't going to be rewarded. After a few years within Yukigakure, there was a change in leadership. The, in Yoshi's eyes, noble Ace was replaced with a crueler leader. The alliance that the girl had been representing was lost and broken. With her history and allegiance in question, she was imprisoned underneath Yukigakure in the icy dungeons, isolated from the world for almost a year...
Warped and twisted.
The girl wasn't meant to stay in prison forever. They were breaking her down, day by day, for one final task. Whispering that Amegakure had left her, that Konohagakure was portraying her as a missing nin, a useless traitor, her mind was constantly under assault. When she was released from isolation, she was given one final task. To assault the Hokage at the summit of Mo, to claim his life and bring stride between Amegakure and Konohagakure. In the final moments when the decision was to be made, the girl dropped her weapon, warned the Hokage, and fled into the wilderness. Amongst trees and vines is where she started her plans for revenge. Acting quickly, she sent a clone home to Yukigakure. To truly end the sickening reign of their leader, she revealed that the clone was strapped with a multitude of exploding tags. Detonating itself, the entire Yukikage tower crumbled, destroying all evidence that the girl had ever been there. Broken and lost, she wandered. Cursed and haunted, she wandered. Until a warm embrace brought her back to where it had all began. Back to Amegakure.
That, too, wasn't going to last. The Amekage, Mitsukai, was assassinated, and the girl was left to the elders who placed her into prison again. The second round of isolation was harder on her mind. Wounding herself, screaming, living in filth, another year of her life was wasted behind bars. The elders too, issued an order for her execution. Stripping her of all humane rights, it looked like it would be the end. Fate had another twist in store, and now she serves Amegakure loyally.
