A Mad Dash for the Chunin Exams!!

Aimi ran through the desert with his teacher in tow, heading back for the Land of Rain. He explained while they were running that he was a genin of the Kusagakure and that he needed to go to the chunin exams this year, which is why tthey were hurrying. He said that he would have to drop him off in his home country and direct him to the village if he was to make it on time, apologizing profusely for the situation. His new master seemed annoyed but understanding all the same. So they left the dry bad lands and went back to the wet lands of the Land of Rain.

On through the rain they traveled, using what tress they could for shelter as they went. The two companions, master and student, made haste through the Land of Rain to the Land of Grass, where they would have to depart for the time being.

Back out of the rain and into the warmth of the tropics that was the Kusa, Aimi and his master chose to rest for just a moment. Sitting beneath a large tree on the border of where it rained and grass grew, Aimi gave him some rough directions to the Kusagakure. He apologized profusely again for the fact that they had to split up so soon like this, but the circumstances required him to be elsewhere. Again, the white haired man seemed to be annoyed but understanding and accepted the directions he was given. If nothing else, he could stay in Aokusa for a while. After making doubly and triply sure that he knew where he was going and what he would have to do to get into the village, Aimi stood up from under the tree and departed, heading north towards the land of waterfalls and the Chunin Exams...

Aimi stopped his running abruptly. He stared off into space beneath the cool shade of the forest he was in, a river not far off he could hear. It hit him suddenly, like a kick to the gut or a slap to the face. He realized with gut sinking efficiency that one cruel fact of the matter: He was in the wrong damned country! In his haste, he'd gotten the names of the countries he was supposed to be in mixed around in his mind and ended up north of where he was supposed to be! "God, DAMN IT!" he cried angrily, turning on his heel and jumping into the trees above him so that it might quicken his pace southward towards the land of Fire, where he would head west to his real destination: The land of Hotsprings.

As Aimi was dashing through the lush lands of Fire, he couldn't help but feel exasperated. Even though he'd only slept for a few hours upon entering the country, he knew that his time had to have been short by now. He had a day, maybe two at the most, to get to the land of Hotsprings or else he simply wouldn't be attending the Exams this year! He'd had to drop out of some exams before, but he'd always been able to attend them at least! Onward he dashed through the trees, on the ground, over water - whatever was the fastest route to the neighboring country, using his compass as a general guide to lead him west. Towards his destination.

Passing over the boarder between Fire and Hotsprings was an easy enough feat given the natural transition from a warm climate to a slightly warmer one. Aimi did take note of the number of fruit bearing trees that seemed to pop up more and more the further inland he went. He quickly found a road and started running down it, hoping to come across a civilian of some sort. He'd never been to this part of the world before, he was a complete and total stranger in these lands. It was all very exciting to the young man! Not only was he on his way to another Chunin Exams, one which he hoped to pass this time around, he was in a new and exotic land! For a brief set of moments he forgot why he was there and just enjoyed the lush atmosphere.

As he was traveling along the road, he saw someone heading in his direction. A group of someones, a small caravan it looked like. Thinking to ask them for some directions, Aimi slowed his pace to match theirs. When they were close enough, he called out, "Excuse me! You wouldn't happen to know how to get to the Chunin Exams?"

"They're in Hakone!" one of them called back. "I'm new to the land, could you give me directions to Hakone?" Aimi asked politely as the caravan stopped beside him. They gave him some general directions, enough that he could guide himself there with his compass at least. Thanking them, Aimi picked up his pace and started towards Hakone, his mind once again turning to the Exams and wondering who else would be there...

Kamina finished his own dash from Takigakure for the second time and stopped to rest. He wasn't exactly sure where Kusagakure was, but he figured if he wanted around he would spot the Kusa shinobi eventually. Jumping into a tree, Kamina waited. For when Aimi was to pass by, he would simply follow him where ever he decided to go. He wanted to take the man's blood in his own country. The sick and twisted mind of the God of September thought that would be the best place to feast upon his heart. "Come on out, my prey." He sang to himself.

Walking along down the road, a bounce in his step and a grin plastered on his face, came Aimi! Fresh out of the chunin exams and tired as hell! But who cared about that? He'd passed!! He was still so excited about that, he couldn't help but smile and see things through rose tented glasses! He was literally 90% finished with becoming a chunin! All he needed to do was get home and talk with the kage, so that's exactly what he was going to do! Head straight home and get that title!

... But then, what was a little adventure or two along the way? No one ever knows what will happen! Of course, being so naturally elated and cheery, he didn't notice he was being followed...

Aimi was exhausted. Actually exhausted, probably more so than when he had first left the chunin exams! In retrospect, it was a terrible idea to have the blimp drop him off on the ground so that he go spend his new found energy running around and doing whatever. Without a map to actually guide him to places and just a compass, he'd gotten lost plenty of times. First he'd ended up in the Land of Water somehow and messed with some arrogant kid by a lake, then he'd flown off and totally forgotten to check his compass and ended up in the Land of Moon! He'd met Loki and some invisible lady, the chief of police for Konohagakure, he'd been forced to kill some innocents out of necessity and had learned of Dye and all of her shennanigans. He'd learned about the Venators, and the apparently paper thin world of crime that he'd never known about that was just beneath the surface of everything. Truly, this had been an exhausting adventure.

As he made his way towards the Kusagakure, he couldn't help but think of his bed and how nice it would be to sleep on it after days and days of sleeping beneath trees and on the ground... but then he was reminded that Vincent wanted him to finish up his bousen training and that just made his bones feel all the more tired! It looked like being a chunin was going to be stressful from here on out...

Kamina simply followed Aimi from a distance. He licked his lips as he stalked his prey. He knew that his death was going to be upon him at any moment.
