Instant Diversion
Rank: "D"
Skill: GenJutsu
Effect: Creates Illusory doubles of the user.
Special: "Handseals"
Drawback: ---
Description: Affects anyone who sees the user. The user is able to perform this technique on themselves. The duration of this technique lasts for 5 rounds per class level. This technique may be disbelieved once interacted with. As the user spins around, they produce residual images of themselves, each of which splits off from their body and moves away. 1 + 2 Per Class Level illusory doubles of them appear, spinning off from their original location as they turn in a circle. The user is then free to go elsewhere while their doubles move away in a manner of their choosing. The doubles move at the user's speed and can emit minor sounds such as footsteps or metal clanking, but they can only be made to move, withdraw, or run. Any successful attack against an illusory double destroys it. Figments seem to react normally to area attacks such as looking as though they are being burned alive through a Fire Jutsu.
Limit: Must know the Figment Perception.
Inoryu had finished the last of his meal at home and stepped outside to his front lawn for inspiration. His house was mundane but had profound sense of tradition within its walls. The grass was sprouted just to the height of his ankles when he stepped out onto the front lawn. Beyond it were more of the extraordinarily high blades of grass to conceal the home. Any guest would enter through the passage of mowed grass (if they were to enter politely, of course). The smell of the soil, the picturesque movement of the mowed grass, the liquid quality of the long grass. He used this place often while growing up to concentrate, and he would do so again. He and his parents were at an understanding that he was to leave the front yard exactly how he had found it. He took in slow, deep breathes and entered a deeper state of consciousness. What he pondered was, What can I do to best my opponents. Method of focus: 1 V 1.
He exhaled. He knew a single technique that his teacher had taught him in the academy.

Inoryu was 8 years old, only 4"8. His shirt was a plain blue shirt, his pants were a similar blue to match, the only thing that really stood out from him was the Yamanaka vigil in white on the front of his shirt. None of the other students knew what it meant, or bothered to ask all day. He sat on the desks among them and watched the teacher closely, not so much on the lesson, "4 X 4 = 16. 4 X 5 = 20..." What Inoryu really payed attention to was his teacher's mannerisms, his expressions when interacting with the other students. The bell rang and the kids all shot up to leave immediately disregarding the lesson. Inoryu stayed behind. Although it was hard for anybody to read Inoryu's expressions, what he was feeling was nervous. He had a request for his teacher for the first time, and the teacher hardly knew anything about him other than his never-failing grades. Inoryu stood up from his desk and approached the teacher who was erasing the math from his chalkboard.
"Sensei..." Inoryu began.
"Why, yes Inoryu," he replied exactly as Inoryu had expected.
"Are we gonna be learning any genjutsu?" Inoryu asked.
"Why no, not in the ninja academy. I'm afraid it's a little too advanced for students. A lot of precision is involved, and young children so seldom have what it takes. I'm afraid for this reason genjutsu is not a part of the curriculum. Only the introduction which we've already covered last quarter."
"But I want to learn genjutsu," Inoryu replied.
"I'm sorry Inoryu, we have to follow the curriculum." Inoryu let his head fall in defeat and made his way towards the door to leave. Just as he was about to exit, the teacher stopped him. "Wait. If you really want, I do have something in mind. Take a seat. It will be extremely difficult to master, it will probably take years." The teacher didn't see Inoryu's expression, but despite this, his face lit up. He quietly returned to his seat as the teacher took out a piece of paper. Inoryu listened excitedly to the pencil scratching against the desk, "Here," the teacher held the paper outward and Inoryu ran to grab it.
"Thank you sensei," Inoryu said, his expression once again blank.
The teacher replied back. His smile hid doubts. "You're welcome, Inoryu."
Inoryu looked down at the paper when he exited the room and saw that they were instructions to performing a genjutsu called "Phantasmal Force." Inoryu ran home that night and presented it to his father. He looked it over and hummed in intrigue.
Classes continued as normal, and the technique wasn't brought up again. The teacher didn't know that Inoryu's father had trained him to learn the technique over time, and that Inoryu had mastered it by the end of that year. By the time the school year was finished, Inoryu had forgotten to tell the teacher "Thank you" and that he had successfully master the genjutsu.

There's always that technique, Inoryu thought, But it would only target the mind of one foe. What if I took a new direction? The Almost Hit: Type 2 had shown me a different method of illusion. The ninja remembered back to the lessons in the ninja academy, how some shinobi were capable of making clones. Is this a method I can take to make clones? Inoryu wondered. Typically clones are ninjutsu made of the elemental release of the shinobi. But if I could make clones in a way that Almost Hit: Type 2 targets the area and to all who see it within that area, there could be many advantages in it. Inoryu envisioned the schematics of his illusory kunai deception. He remembered how he implemented the illsuion on the area, almost as if he and his adversary were in the same bubble. Anyone within that area would've seen his kunai. He threw the illusory kunai at the injured baboon. It was the area that had the illusion. There was no doubt that this would be the same method that Inoryu would implement his 'Clone Strategy', in chich case he could fool multiple foes. Multiple shinobi in the bubble would see the kunai being thrown and vanishing just before hitting the baboon. The number of people in the bubble didn't matter, or whether they were friend or foe. If instead of seeing a kunai, but rather me creating numerous clones, it would be a larger and more profound deception with more possibilities. Inoryu imagined he and the baboon in the bubble of his genjutsu and produced multiple clones. He envisioned himself and his clones surrounding the target causing the baboon confusion as to which to strike. The only downfall is, if someone was outside the bubble, representing the range of the illusion, then they wouldn't see the clones but rather the baboon acting in confusion. If it were shinobi, and I had a shinobi surrounded, they would realize it is an illusion, swoop in and save their buddy. Inoryu closed his eyes in the ambiance of his mowed lawn and smiled, I guess that is the jutsu's weakness. But it doesn't make it any less effective. If they, outside of the bubble, didn't discern it was a genjutsu in the first place, they would see my clones upon entering the range of my technique as well. Inoryu imagine shinobi destroy his clones with taijutsu and ninjutsu. I would still, in a sense, be more safe in the event of an ambush. Inoryu imagined himself fleeing from the ambush using the clones as a distraction.
Inoryu took another deep breath, this one sent a wave of pleasure through his body. He stood there appreciating the ambiance of his front yard. Its peace, its glory. He exhaled and ran inside his house to let his parents know that he was going for a walk to the library, excited with the direction of his ideals. His excitement only matched by his confidence. He will make his father proud and bring the glory of the Yamanaka clan to the Grass.
