Inoryu was enjoying himself so much that he felt he had finished the grass portion of the piece too soon. His canvas was almost complete, there was one section left that he had to do. His paintbrush vanished and a new one appeared in his hand, free of any previously used color. He envisioned a blue tone quality that was darker that the light blue tone of the monarch butterfly's wings. Just a little bit lighter...
He had found the exact tone of blue to use for the morning sky. Clouds were slowly shifting in the air but he paid them no mind. He eased into the canvas and spread the blue paint horizontally. He could see that he was almost finished with the painting, every stroke was further towards it completion. Well now I really do wish that I used real paint and tools. Oh well...
The paint brush in his hand enlarged by two sizes and then he continued on with the work. The incredibly large butterfly flapped its massive wings twice before steadying back into its initial resting position. The butterfly rested in the exact same position as if it hadn't moved at all, mirroring the canvas to a "T".
"Had to stretch, did you?" Inoryu said aloud with a soft smile, "Now hold still." The butterfly flapped its wings twice in response, "Good. I'm almost finished. I would be happy to show you what I came up with. I think you'll be pretty impressed."
Inoryu's broad strokes made the painting come alive. When he finished the blue sky, his paintbrush then was transformed to white paint. He captured the clouds as they roamed through the air. He painted several small clouds. It appeared as though two were connected, and another was roaming alone. Then he outlined the white clouds with lines of gray.
There I'm finished. He took one good look at the giant butterfly, focused, and watched as the massive baby blue toned butterfly transformed into countless, normal sized golden ones. They spread throughout the atmosphere and surrounded Inoryu and his painting. He smiled at the illusion, "So, whatd'ya think?"
He could hear the beating of the countless wings as though they were intensifying the wind itself. It was as though each tiny butterfly had a heartbeat that could be felt through their beating wings. Inoryu closed his eyes and took in the moment. He could hear the hundreds of of beating wings all around him and feel them on his face and hands.
