Valerys woke up out of Yoshi’s dream and untied him from the tree, dragging his body across the forest and away from her campsite. She left his remains there, to find his way about, and finished him off with the polearm to the stomach. She might have considered burying a respectable man, but this was no such character and she left his body in the forest to the wildlife. By then it was getting late and she made her way back to her campsite, happy to sleep after a long day. As she did, she decided to one last bit of training and reached out to the boy with her serial dream technique to touch him as he slept. The idea worked and she was able to find the boy in his dreams, occupying the same forest that they were currently in. Valerys usually was not happy with people, but the boy was different. His silence set him apart, allowing Valerys to respect him. Not to mention his knowledge about certain animals and possibly plants? While inside of the boys dream Valerys had formed a large, wolf monster for the boy to fight. She needed to know how strong the boy really was.
The boy sneaked around the bi-pedal wolf man and Valerys watched from afar. She forced the creature to start forming the handsigns for a wooden pillar binding technique. This time it was particularly difficult to make the technique work. Valerys was not, nor had ever transformed into, a wolf man. She visualized what it must have been like to be this creature, how bloodthirsty and hungry, and forced her chakra into its body. The first time the handseals did not work. The boy continued to sneak around the creature. “Come out!” Valerys made the wolf beast yell and it ran toward the boy. The boy blasted the wolf with a searing soul ability and the creature was knocked back. Losing to a kid, Valerys thought and surged more of her chakra out to her wolf creature. The monster stood up and Valerys formed the handseals as the creature did, hoping to establish a weak sort of link to rely upon.
The trick worked. The werewolf succeeded in casting the evil eye genjutsu of the enchantment school this time, cursing the boy slightly and lowering his ability to fight. It was a cruel trick to play, and Valerys was a little ashamed that it had worked, but she need to know. The boy took off running into the forest and the wolf creature chased him. She had it attempt more handseals, this time causing roots of the trees to reach up and turn into wooden pillars to trap the boy. This way and that pillars rose from the ground as Valerys pushed as much chakra as she could into the technique. Eventually Valerys ran out of chakra all together, however, and realized she pushed herself too far. She pulled herself out of the dream and found herself back at the campsite, in her tent. She laid down more than ready for bed and was upset that she had put the boy through so much trauma. An odd feeling for her indeed.
