The companions, Houkou and Sekizen, sat a short walking distance from where the woodline met grassland, some of it having been cleared and providing plenty of stumps to use as seats. Chewing on a long length of grass, regretting the fact that they had no money for cigarettes, and after a long moment glanced at his companion. “You know, you’ve definitely grown, but you’ve completely forgotten everything I taught you. I don’t blame you, it’s been many years.” Sekizen turned his enmorous muzzle toward Houkou, inches from his master’s face, and a grin spread across his face that only managed to look menacing to any who would look. “At least I didn’t forget you, right? Don’t be so sour about it.” Houkou shrugged. “Guess we’ll start from scratch then. Get up, we have work to do. Go sharpen your teeth on a tree so we can get down to it. I’m gonna figure out these eyes a bit more.”

Rising on his forepaws and then the hind, Sekizen made his way toward the woods as Houkou had commanded, eyeballing the trees that resided there. After a moment of searching, he found one where the branches near the bottom were thick and grown horizontally, perfect so he would not have to turn his head to accomplish his task, and he bared his fangs. Sauntering over to the branch, Sekizen opened his maw wide, and then bit down on the branch.
While he intended to do damage, he did not intend to break the branch, and in turn did little to know damage to the bark at all. Eyeing the tree again, he decided that he should probably give it a little more force, or was he actually supposed to break the branch with his bite? Well, regardless of whether he should or should not, he went for it again, only with a little more force. His bite was powerful, it had no choice, but he restrained and only managed to leave very shallow tooth marks in the bark. Exactly what kind of tree was this?
Growling at the fact that this tree was getting the better of him, Sekizen set his resolve to rip the branch from the very thing that spawned it. Opening his mouth, he could feel the muscles tighten as he poised to destroy the branch, filling his jaw with power. His maw, massive and full of fangs like daggers, came crashing down upon the branch with a force that could rend steel. Each muscle in his jawline released all of the power it had stored into this very bite, to crush the existence of this branch.
A fierce cracking sound could be heard as the maw closed upon the target, sap and bark filling the mouth of the huge Worg, sending a shower of splinters down to the forest floor. Still he keep pushing through it all, the wood exploding from the force, the branch shooting up and over him to land beside the tree. Spitting out the wood and rubbing his tongue with his forepaw, Sekizen grinned at the destruction he had caused, feeling satisfied with his ability to bite once again with more force than was accustomed to him. Not even an iron bark tree was enough.

Houkou watched as his companion left for the woods, wondering without too little amusement, if the Worg knew that those trees were Iron Wood trees. Well, he’d figure them out. The shinobi himself had other things to occupy him with, which was trying to gain more control over his own bloodline ability, that of the Uchiha. With that thought in mind, he activated his ability, pulling from his very blood to change the makeup of his eyes. Due to a defect of his birth however, one that was never rooted out with cloning, his eyes became black with red tomoe instead of the other way around.
He would need to make his eyes function as he needed before he could run trials on human or animal life forms, which would mean making them turn, and for that he would need to focus his inner chakra. With that knowledge, he pulled from his chakra and had it run up the very nerves and optical cords that linked his eyes to his brain. The transition was swift, filling his eyes with chakra in but a moment, as they were small containers and only needed a tiny bit.
Now he would stab bits of chakra into the tomoe and the ring itself, a very thin line of red that the tomoe rested upon and were connected to, like an acupuncturist working on a patient that required much care. Hundreds of points of chakra were placed in the designated areas, primed for his command once he was prepared. Additionally, Houkou would use chakra to create a type of lifeline that connected this so far separated chakra to that of his own reserve, in order to perpetually continue this endeavor until he mastered it.
With the delicacy of a surgeon perform brain trauma care, Houkou began to try and move the tomoe in a spiral, so that they would produce the hypnotic effect he so desired. The tomoe did not move an inch, not even a centimeter, and it was apparent that they would not move. Houkou examined the chakra he had placed, knowing it to be imperfect now, and perhaps the design itself was completely wrong. How would he get the tomoe to move? How could he make them move? More than once in his life, he wished for another Uchiha to impart knowledge to him.
Using a bit more chakra, he crafted it into a type of mental handle, in order to tug the tomoe and force them to spin. With sheer willpower, he pulled on the handle that was connected now to all of the pins, and hoped that it would be what was needed. Instead he met indomitable resistance, unbudging in the least, and forcing him to abandon that course of action all together and recall his chakra. He would need to come up with another plan for making this work, it would seem.
