At the mention of the litany the man would perk an eyebrow. ”Yes. Everyone does. It used to be our code of laws. Do not worry, the Asturians burned it good. You will not find an official example of it anywhere. Maybe someone buried a copy somewhere.” He shrugged melancholically, seemingly ending the conversation. Thinking about what had been seemed to sadden him.
Planning the assault seemed to go down easy. These men knew how to make small distractions but were clearly not well versed in grander tactics. They seemed to welcome your advice and quite swiftly agree to follow the plan as you laid it out. When you returned a bit later they too seemed to have geared up. Everyone had turned to the main hall of the inn, but the deadbolt on the door, accompanied with the ‘open’ sing having been hauled inside showed that they did not expect anyone to enter any time soon. Thus everyone now had been fitted in generic brown, black and beige colours. Many now carried short swords and bucklers on their left hips, and pistol crossbow hidden among their bodies. A few had a cloak hanging over their shoulders or a cape over their left shoulder, hiding the weapons from view. At least no one any longer donned the ridiculous black and yellow outfits, save for the troupe that seemed ready to man the wagon that was going to block the intersection. They had a few boxes that were loaded with goods like bread, but very sparsely and very inefficiently, clearly going for more boxes rather than actually transporting goods.
The man who had left the prison with you now looked entirely differently. He was clad in a blue gambeson with a dark blue cape over that, donning a rapier on his left hip. Clearly he was going for the nobleman look. ”I appreciate it that you went for honesty. Let me divulge the rest too. I am Achaton, I used to own this place but the Asturians know I have a bloodlimit so I had to run. O f course I did not make it far as you know.” He shrugged a bit. ”I am going to stay with you, unlike the rest I have the natural ability to move unnoticed so we could actually operate together. Are you ready to move? We shall go when you give the go.”
