Character Depth
Personality:
Yuri was always a kind child while she was growing up. Even-though she was sheltered most of her life, she always showed kindness to the few new people she did manage to run into. She was a sweet child, but after her parent's death, some of that sweetness started to fade away, but not completely. She became more withdrawn, but she remained kind. As she got older, she had the opportunity to meet more and more people. As time went on she began to see the world for what it truly was. People were for the large part out for themselves, and that there was very few people she could trust.
However, that would not keep her from looking. She sees the good in everyone that she meets, and tries to get the best out of that person, and only so she can find a friend, but also so she can bring out the best in them so they can be the the best versions of themselves. While she see the best in people, she does not trust them, in the less. The only thing she truly trusts is the Y'la spirit that follows her that she has named Mr. Nette. She trusts it for one reason and one reason only, she knows what to expect for it in any given situation.
Even-though the spirit has caused her pain, both known and unknown, she's knows exactly what to expect from it. That in a sense brings her comfort. She talks to the spirit of often when in deep thought, she doesn't expect a response from it, and even if it did respond she would hardly be able to tell what it was saying. She uses it as a sounding board ore often than not, and because of it, she is never really alone in her mind. This also makes her very independent because she doesn't really need anyone else. This allows her to be picky about the company she keeps, and the people she dubs as friends.
There are many things in this world that she does not understand, some of them she searches constantly for answer, others she doesn't even want to know. However there is one thing she knows for absolute certain. Music is life, music is freedom. In her mind music can save the world, or bring it to ruin, depending on how it is used. She has never felt so many emotions while listening to songs, and she desires greatly to bring those feeling to the rest of the world. She dreams of exploring the known world, and performing concerts around the world. She doesn't care about being famous or rich, she just wants to spread her music. In the world of ninja, demons, and monsters... that can be a difficult task.
Especially for someone like her who does not enjoy violence, and is uneasy with traveling long distances. Since watching the death of her parents, the thought of fighting scares her, and being that they died while traveling from Konoha to the Mansion of the Flower children, traveling long distances is always terrifying for her. It was a traumatic event, and any form a violence makes her feel uneasy, and the thought of fighting scares her. Over the years it has gotten better, but it is a far cry from saying that she is completely fine. It was shocking that she manage to make through the ninja academy, and then only reason she even thought of becoming a ninja is to make money to support her passion for music.
The passion she has for her music trumps all of these other emotions that would seek to hinder her, and she will push through to make her dreams a reality.
Appearance:
Yuri is a beautiful young lady inside and out. She has long beautiful deep red hair like her mother. However, unlike her mother, her hair gives off a light glow when she is excited. She usually wears her hair down and it extends down to her Lower back. Her hair flowing like a red river down her face and towards her lower back. Her hair and naturally wavy, and full. It is beautiful, and many have joked about take her hair for themselves. It feel like silk to the touch, and it smells of the sweetest of flowers.
Her red hair bring out the blue of her almond shaped eyes. The blue of her eyes are artificial of course, thanks to the contacts that she constantly wears. The contacts or worn to hide the Byakugan underneath it, not out of shame, but for her own protection. Under neath those contacts of the eyes of a Hyūga, those pure lavender eyes, that do not house a pupil. Like with most Hyūga their eyes are both intimidating and hauntingly beautiful. Situated between her eyes is her very cute button noise that goes down to her full lips.
She has a long neck, and a slender body, topped off with a pair of busty knockers. She has long legs, and while she is in great shape, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of muscle on her body. She does not look like she would be much in a fight. Her fair skin is smooth and flawless, as one would expect from someone who has lived such a sheltered life. It is soft to the touch. She is likes to dress casually as much as she humanly can. However given her position as Kage, she has had to adjust her stannce on such things.
She recently learned how to craft clothing through the manipulation of paper release and has such made an outfit that is both comfotable and suitable for most formal occasions. This outfit is a long flowing dress, with various shades of green. It was accented by gold and Green emerald set jewelry on her head neck and wrist. With her read wavy hair dancing around as she walked, it worked well with her dress, making her appear look as if she was a living rose.
Speaking of roses she had one possessed in her hair just over her right ear. She wore high heel knee length boots, that were actually ATs that housed the Thorn Regalia. On her bare thighs 4 quick Loader pouches were place, housing a slot of Northern wind Explosives, a Slot of Smoke Pellets with a slot of Silene and a Slot of S-Rafflesia. In her hand she was holding the Hyoushi's clan special Double Bladed sword, Yuri called it "Tuning Fork"
Background:
Yuri was born into a life that should have been charmed, that should have been filled with love and adventure. In sense that is partially true. She was born to two extraordinary individuals. Her father was a prominent member of the main branch of the Hyūga Clan. He went on a relaxing vacation in the Land of Moon, where he encountered a beautiful Red haired woman. She was a member of the Ikebana Clan, and one of their most prized members. The two of them were instantly enthralled with one of another, and found any excuse to remain in the other's company. The two of the them would eventually marry. This wasn't taken too well by either house at the time, but they could not deny the love that the two of them shared, so they looked past their displeasure... reluctantly.
However, once Yuri was born, all hostility about the union was dispelled as the thing that was created could be described as nothing more then prefect. She was born with that deep red, rose colored hair like her mother, but her hair seemed to give off an actual glow. Something that no Ikebana had displayed as far as they knew. She also inherited the enchanting, and haunting eyes of the Hyūga clan. Because of what she represented she was heavily sheltered by both sides of her family, they knew some one like her would be hunted relentlessly for ransom, and experimentation, if they ever knew of her existence. She lived a very sheltered life for the 5 actual years she spent with her parents.
Unknown to everyone else, a spirit of misfortune, and chaos had taken an interest in this child. How could he not? A being who was to be born into the world, destined to receive nothing but the best and finer things in life? He could gouge himself on the misfortune he could create from such a creature. As soon as Yuri was born he put his hooks into her, and has followed her since, as the architect of her misfortune. Shockingly enough by the time she was 4, she was able to see the Y'la that stalked her, and talked to him constantly, even if he didn't respond half the time, and the other half she couldn't understand him. Her parents just treated it as her having an imaginary friend, which wasn't odd, considering she didn't have much contact with the outside world. Shortly after beginning about to see him she learn to deflect the misfortune that his constant presences provided.
This did nothing but make the Y'la that Yuri would come to call, The Marionette, or Mr. Nette crave her misfortune even more. This is when her life took a turn, her prodigious skill, was seemingly the cause of her own doomed life. Over the years Mr. Nette, couldn't properly feed off the girls misfortune, because she would no longer hurt herself through accidents, as she had subconsciously learned to block the Y'la's influence. So instead, Mr. Nette decided to make bad things happen around her. Things would break, seemingly on their own, house keepers would trip, several actually had fatal falls, much to the child's shock. The Y'la feasted on the negative emotions that poured from the girl when such things happened. The negative emotions from her where magnificent, and he had to have more. He knew that once she became a ninja, he would have plenty of opportunity to feast.
The girl was clearly made for battle, with the potent blood coursing through her veins, and the potential he could feel pouring from her. There was just one problem, because of the powerful blood, and talent, she was too sheltered. He doubted that the girl would ever see the academy let alone become a ninja. He knew what he had to do. Her family were leaving Konoha to go on a trip to the Land of Grass to visit the Mansion of the Flower Children. This was something that her mother insisted on them doing, at least twice a year. Mr. Nette knew that this was his opportunity to strike. They went by carriage, as they always had done. On the way to their destination, they were overtaken by a land slide. The land slide took the carriage over a cliff.
The servant that was driving the carriage was killed. Yuri and her parents managed to survive. However, her mother and father weren't in fantastic shape after the fall. Yuri on the other hand seemed to perfectly fine. Her father's leg was severely injured, and her mother had taken a pretty bad hit to the head. Her mother was skilled in the art of healing, but her head injury made it difficult for her to concentrate properly. The two of them knowing that they were closer to Kusa than Hi, decided to continue heading towards the Mansion of the Flower Children. With the events that had taken place they would be very late, and a search party would be sent for them. They just needed to hold out till then.
It wasn't long before the 3 of them found themselves in more trouble. A group of bandits, spotted them, and upon looking at them knew that they could get a large sum of ransom money for the three of them. However, the leader of the group decided against it. He knew full well that if they captured all three of them and gave Yuri's parents time to recover, they would be able to not only escape, but slaughter the lot of them easily. Their eyes all fixated on Yuri, her eyes and hair were striking, the pure offspring of a Ikebana, and Hyūga. Surely the girl would be worth her weight in coin. The decision was an easy one. Kill the weakened and injured parents and take the child.
The attack commenced and Yuri watched on in horror as her father fought their attackers, while her mother attempted to provide as much support with her various jutsu as best she could with her head injury. They manage to fight them off enough to escape, for the moment, but with their injuries, they weren't about to get far, or kill many of their would be attackers. Sadly they were eventually hunted down, and her mother and Father were slain before her eyes. He father had lost all of his chakra, and was easy pickings as he past out from exhaustion. Her mother was pierced through the heart by an arrow shortly after, not being able to dodge do to the concussion she was suffering from. Mr. Nette, feasted on the poor Yuri's negative emotions, this night, feeling more satisfied than he ever had before.
Yuri sat there on her knees, with her mothers blood splattered across her face. She looked at her parents with a dumbfound stare on her face. As the bandits approached her she let out a blood curdling scream. As she screamed Lighting struck out of a clear night sky, and struck one of the Trees that surround them. The burning tree then fell over and crushed several of the bandits, and soon after the forest they were in had caught on fire. How unfortunate for the bandits. The bandits that tried to the escape the spreading fire, all died. Each of them receiving a fatal doses of bad luck. Mr. Nette gouged himself, as he seemed to take pity on the girl. At this point the search team that had been sent arrived on the scene to see what had transpired. They watched in shock, at the sight of the dead bodies of two skilled clan members, and then at how the child seemed to call upon nature itself to assist her.
The Ikebana search team quickly gathered the girl and the bodies of her dead parents. She was taken to the Mansion of the Flower Children, and instead of what should have been a joyous trip turned into a tragic funeral. After getting the details of what happened from Yuri, or as much as they could from the traumatized child, they had the dual funeral, at the Mansion of the Flower Children. It was truly a beautiful place for a funeral, which was attended only by the highest ranking members of each clan. After the funeral had ended, and tears were shed, they began to argue over who would take claim to Yuri. She sat there and listened to all of them argue for awhile until she stood up with a huff. As she stood up the room that they were in started to rumble, once again a little bit a mischief performed by Mr. Nette.
As she stood up she shouted, "I don't wanna leave... again. I don't want Mommy and Daddy to leave either. Last time... last time." The child fought back her tears again, as she wiped her eyes. Clearly she didn't want to go on an extended travel again, seeing what had happened the last time, she also didn't want her parents to live her either. She then continued, "I am Yuri Hyūga!... I'm always going to be a Hyūga, and I'm always going to be an Ikebana... but I don't want to leave... I don't want to go again." The elders all seemed to lose their will to argue, being both humbled by the power the girl displayed by rumbling the room in frustration, and by her making them realize what they were doing. They were fighting over the child like she was a piece of livestock. The elders decided to shut up and listen to what the young girl had to say.
It was decided that she would live her life as an Ikebana. No one other than the people who had attended the funeral would know who she was. She spent the next 15 years of her life in the Land of Kusa, she wore contacts covering up her Hyūga eyes, making them instead look a deep blue color. Many said that she is the spiting image of her mother. She goes by Ikebana while out in public, much very much prefers her Hyūga name, being that she's never had the chance to experience the Hyūga culture, and that name is the only thing she has to connect her to her father. She never took to fighting, and neglected her training through the years. She focused only enough to get herself through Kusagakure's ninja academy. She uses the money she makes from mundane missions to support her true passion.
Over the years, given the tragedy that entered her life, she reached very dark places in her mind. Places she was only able to escape through music and art. She became enthralled with music, with the freedom it provided, and the passion it caused to burn within her. This was only furthered when she turned 18 and went on her journey of enlightenment. She had no real intention of dedicating herself to the Ikebana clan's jutsu, as she had no desire to fight. She went on this journey to prove to herself that she was no longer afraid to leave the bubble she had created for herself. While on this journey she met a young man from the Hyoushi Clan. She learned many things from him, and he furthered her interest in the art of music, and showed her even more ways to express herself. She returned from her journey and she knew exactly what she wanted to do.
She started to DJ, and do performances at Local night clubs and taverns. She has since become known as DJ Jinx. She may have grown up, but bad luck seems to befall anyone who's around her too long. This pattern became more clear as time went on, making it difficult for her to make long lasting friends. However, people knew they could stay around her long enough to enjoy her music. And sometimes the bad luck that followed her made for interesting happenings at her shows. So she will continue to pursue her passion, and try to forget the tragedies of her pass, not knowing that new tragedies were soon to come, and that she would need to be prepared for them.
