Flames licked the evening sky, angry and orange, the smoke coloring the very upper air purple in color as the sun stroked those wisps. Homes were set ablaze and the streets were alive with the din of chaos, the last rays of the sun, the last bastion of order, everything seemed to be sinking in this once great nation village. Men and women of Godric, stripped of him now and with no direction, they turned violent like the ghoul and threw their torches. They stoked the fires, cursed the Kage, cursed the air and that Godric was no longer present! The crows gathered like deep black clouds, settled on the rooftops where there were people who lived, ate the dead as they rested in puddles of copper smelling blood. Those who were lucky had locked their homes, huddled with their sons and daughters, husbands and wives, or had fled altogether. The shopping district and its bordering homes belonged to the followers of Godric, at least for now. Word had been sent to the Kage.’Iwakage, sir!
Rioters have beaten back the general police force down in the shopping district, set it ablaze, and they call for blood. It would seem that some citizens or dead or injured, but a majority are in hiding or have fled the district. We need you help and we need it now. These followers of Godric, they need to be put down, but we can’t afford to lose another citizen. Violence may bring more violence, but death always brings revenge, so keep them alive if you can.’
Blood stains the sender’s name, whether it is his or another’s is unknown, but what is known is that action is needed. Another gout of flame rises from the shopping district, another building being set ablaze, and the sounds of the destruction can be heard all throughout the city, only softened by the words from the people’s lips. They wish the new Kage gone, their tone does not suggest they want him gone as a living man either. It’s time for action.
