Name: Defend the Gates!
Rank: B
IIC Length: 1 day - miss two iic and you're out (others will not be penalized)
Difficulty: Medium - Hard
Minimum Participants: 3 or 2 if 1 is chuunin
Objective: The undead have risen, and their forces are gathering around village gates, focusing in on the largest populace of the living. The walls and gates around the villages are doing their jobs and defending those inside from most of the onslaught, but they won't be for long. Several 10 feet tall, Hulk of undead figures have appeared, ready to batter and destroy the gate ahead of them. Take out the brutes and the squadron of undead 'healing' and protecting them, save the village and prevent any from getting through the gates.
Reward: 40,000 per participant, 2x B rank credit
Kuma Tsume - Kessai Kyouda (Bear Claw – Clearing Swipe)
Rank: “B”
Skill: Taijutsu
Effect: The user will swipe their shield around in front of them with great force. This may knock back several foes or clear a field of incoming projectiles.
Special: The user’s shield must be slung on their arm.
Drawback: Cannot be performed in rapid succession; projectiles not all hit at the same time will bypass this technique. Leaves the user vulnerable afterward with their extended arm.
Description: Presumably beginning from the Bear Claw Stance (though this is not necessary), the user will swing their arm to their inward side, coiling in on themselves, and then with this extension will throw their arm in the opposite direction, creating a massive swipe capable of knocking a small field of projectiles, a single, close enemy or multiple attacking enemies away. This attack affects almost 180º of space in front of the user, though it weakens as it nears its end. Only the line of projectiles within this arc will be cleared; projectiles traveling at different speeds are capable of bypassing this technique. The user will be left vulnerable for a moment after executing this attack due to over-extension.
Limit: “Bear Claw Stance”, “Bear Claw - Block” for “D”, “Bear Claw - Weighted Paw”.

The wolf skin cloak with a total of 25 potential slots to fill was on the back of the barechested poacher. His golden locks hidden mostly by the wolf's head hood attached to the cloak while several scars were visible upon his body. Three-quarter length trousers were on his legs and a pair of basic shoes on his feet, on his back a light shield with a couple of dents and slightly battered but still in overall good nick, had the Kusa sigil upon it while on his right arm a clear light shield with no identifying marks was secured. On his left wrist, a pistol crossbow was secured ready for quick release action equipped with a magazine holding 15 standard bolts. In his cloak a second magazine holding a further fifteen bolts was stored along with fifteen other loose bolts ready for him to reload. In a separate pocket, 6 sets of Spanish nuts were hidden and securely put away so not to lose them.
Having arrived back in Kusa, Mitsu found that the same undead rising was happening in his land too. With a sigh, he looked around spotting a dangerously large set of brutes heading towards the gates and several of the younger shinobi who had apparently been put back to deal with any smaller speedy units which might have made it past the defenses. The group of brutes was occupied for the most part by the defending shinobi, but one of the brutish ogres caught sight of the weaker prey and the gates ahead. With a large club in hand, a sudden swing knocked aside several ninjas and along with a small battalion of undead it charged towards the gates.
With the shadow clone he had summoned on his travels over, Mitsu charged through the army of undead managing to get ahead of the brute rushing the gate. The brute though wasn't the immediate issue. Instead, it was the volley of projectiles coming their way. A flurry of arrows, kunai and rocks were thrown towards the gates, getting to the kids in time he turned on his heels with the clone giving it a boost up while it turned in the air swinging the shield around to knock away and collide with a majority of the oncoming projectiles protecting those behind it.
A few of the oncoming air born weapons were lagging behind and missed the shield, so acting swiftly he moved his shield in a 180-degree swing up barely knocking the weapons up and over the clones head so they bounced harmlessly off the walls. Taking a leap off of the wall, his shadow clone would soar higher until it landed on top of the gate wall. Once up top, the clone performed a set of hand signs and spat out a golden bow and arrow with a thin thread attached to it coming from his mouth.
The clone fired the arrow straight down, knowing that the original would have the same plan. The plan required perfect timing. It drilled through the air and as it would get to approximately a meter off the floor the original Mitsu would lash out with his shield in a 180-degree swing, collide with the metal webbed arrow and launch it forward forcing a 90-degree change of direction, so it was parallel to the floor.
The arrow didn't need the guidance of the clones thread anymore, so it severed before drilling through the leg of the brute slowing it down and causing it to tumble over to the floor slowing its charge. Half of the oncoming minions surrounding the brute stopped their charging and aimed to help it up while the rest charged Mitsu. The clone prepped another arrow and fired it down towards the brute; it's aim was to take out the big one while the original focused on the smaller foot soldiers.
Down came the swing of many swords hoping to overpower him but having learned how to parry and stop attacks in the past with his shield he would use what he had been perfecting with his swing to knock away the attacks coming at him. The smash and loud clangs of all the weapons reverberated around, and the weapons knocked out of most of their hands leaving only two still holding weapons.
The clone looked around only to be distracted by a new arrival. The original could easily hold his own in a fight so a few minutes wouldn't hurt without the aerial support. Not spotting who it was at first the clone used his bow to point at the new oncomer and then point directly at the brute trying to get up off the floor with a hole in it's leg. It was clear that it was a command to aim for the big guy.
