As recognition rang clearly in his tone, Harue already had begun to bloom with excitement. Although she was losing the initial relaxation inherent to her tired bones, it was not rigid or tense - exhilarated delight coursed through her. After weeks of searching, it was nice to hear a change in tune. When he spoke on about a potency uncommon in store bought gems, tempting her to ask if he knew how to proclaim these specific ones, excitement only emboldened. She didn’t ask though, afraid of the answer, waiting for him to continue with a knowing and grateful smile. Her gaze remained casually fixed, observing still. Was he excited too? Ōmo lifts his head, sweeping a sheepish gaze around the room before dropping his jaw and unfurling his tongue around an audible yawn. As the beast rests his head back upon his paws, Harue shifts as if physically acknowledging something he might have said.
Indeed, she was aware of how expensive favors could be. Usually she did not like offering debts, but this was a new kind of situation, gradually becoming about more than just her desired trinket. It had something to do with this man, the obvious mysteries he radiated, and wanting him on her side. Something told her he took no sides but his own though. Harue could respect that.
Refusing to let a sigh of relief wrack her body noticeably, she smiles and forces it away. Whatever his favor was, she was thankful he thought it was considerably cheap. Yet as much as she didn’t know him, Harue considered the possibility that his definition of not so expensive pertained to the rich's standards. Nonetheless, her hopes are far from shattered. Nodding, eyeing the notepad from his pocket, she wonders if it would be rude to activate her doujutsu in front of him. “Good to know,” she muses.
Blinking, her pointed stare shifts back to his old face. Flattered by the offer but fearing the stacking price, knowing there might be a business aspect to this, she contains the knee jerk enthusiasm that boils within her cravings. Expression expertly minimal, she spoke with a new bluntness. “I could never say no to more fancy gems, especially if they’re fashioned by those skilled Alchemists you spoke of… but only at the cost of the first. My intent is only for the Gem of the Wise, after all. I hadn't planned on paying for anything more.”
