The day was at its highest peak, the lingering weather of winter was gone completely. The trees were starting to bloom, bright white flowers were blossoming, bees, butterflies, and various other insects crawled about, basking in the warm light, filtering through the light canopy of the trees. Through the light trees that populated the grasslands, leaves began to form and green on the barren branches sprouted. Sparse amounts of variant trees could be found, but one tree was out of place, and couldn't be found native to the lands of Kusa anymore. A lone birch tree, with a symbol engraved deeply on the bark could be seen to those who searched for it. It was the symbol of the fabled Birch of Kusagakure.
Before the sages of her time put her in a dormant sleep, when the war was still going strong, they put a Gease on a sigil that was engraved on her bark. Anyone, whom was an aligned with Kusa, would be able to call her name, or search her out if needed. She would come to those who made the mark. If the mark was made with natural materials, six branches, tied together by vines, would resonate within the Gease with her. But with her finite slumber, the sages ascribed, for future leaders, if The Birch was needed, to seek out the mark within the forests, and only then would she awaken. The sages miscalculated their powers, and this slumber caused a minor form of amnesia.
The Birch now has been waiting for centuries to be found, to be used for what she was meant to do. Protect. Within the sparse trees, her plant like body resides. Her feet, which has been turned to roots, are heavily grounded, absorbing water and other nutrients, which has stabilized her for the centuries she was asleep. Her body formed a thick layer of bark, which has hid her body, arms having branches sprouting out. If one looked close enough, they could see dull green eyes, and a mouth, with slight foliage covering her face.
