Learning - Updraft - 24/30 Tp - Third Post

Finally, Chizu was ready to take that last step into learning this move, capitalizing on the opponent whilst they are stuck in the air. Now this part was a little unclear, but she was sure there was plenty of ways to capitalize on the advantage. Moving into a different technique or striking with her weapon would be good options, but the child left her Naginata and Club inside the house, so she’s just going to have to do more hand to hand attacks. Which one’s she should do is probably going to be situational or worked on further once she learns some better attacks.

Until then, she’s just going to do this move a few more times until she gets another idea to work off on. So the girl decided to go through the attack again, starting the same way as before and doing the proper backflip to get the bag hovering above her head. This time as she landed the flipb she launched herself up to land a closed fist strike into the ‘torso’ of the bag, sending it up even further. As she felt her feet touch the ground, she sprang up again to land a spinning kick into the side of the bag as it fell, sending the practical punching back flying into her tree stump. Chizu would have smirked if she was capable of making the expression, instead she settled for looking blankly at her sandbag, moving to reset the bag as usual.

As soon as that was done, she continued with her training, kicking the bag up and amusing herself by seeing how long she could juggle the bag in the air. She did the punch first like before, then a kick into the center to launch it up. She continued this for a while, trying to juggle the bag high above the ground without it falling out of range. She knew that she couldn’t do this to a living being, since they can move and attack back, but might as well have some fun now. Finally she caught the bag and set it down, having decided that this should be enough for now. She huffed softly, once again unsure about what to do. She knew she could just keep repeating the attack, but she was really bored now, things like that never held her attention that long anymore. To do something while she was thinking, Chizu lifted on of her legs up to the side until her torso was parallel to the ground, the lifted leg pointing straight up.

Description: With this technique the user has learned how to combat against opponents within 10 meters without fear or fumbling with their weapon. They gain the courage and ability to perform combat without much effort. This is a prerequisite technique for more popular techniques. What good is a Throwing Specialist if they are not ready to battle while in close range.
Limit: Must be a Throwing Specialist.

Chizu held her pose for a little longer, mind racking for an idea on what she should work on next. She lowered her leg till it was level with the ground, then spun on her toe slowly. She wanted to do something other than beat on her sandbag, since she would only get terribly bored if she continued to do the same kind of training over and over. She needs to switch it up so that she doesn’t lose interest in bettering herself this day. It wouldn’t do to bow out of training since she would be even MORE bored, and a bored Chizu is a dangerously random Chizu. Slowly, she turned enough so that her dull eyes would land on her bruised tree stump, and then she finally got an idea! Of course. the child shook her head and lowered her leg, walking within 10 meters of her new target.

Shifting her weight onto one leg momentarily, the Child pulled out one of her shuriken and slipped into her stance. The child glared at the center of a circle that she carved into the tree stump, the tree stump itself was about 2 meters in diameter and stands 5 ft high before being cut off. It was a nice tree, at least that was what Hinata said before Nagaki had cut if for some reason. Anyways, the girl tried to refocus herself on the circle, trying not to let her thoughts distract her any longer. With relative ease, the child threw her shuriken at her target, watching it cut through the air in a blink as it hit its target. As she expected, it hit within the circle, but not in the center like she wanted. Seems she was still having that damn perception issue, really need to get over that.

The child shook her head and retrieved a few more shuriken from her pouch, then one at a time, because she wasn’t confident in her ability to throw multiple shuriken at the same time yet, Chizu threw the shuriken at the center target. Each one embedded itself into the trunk in different positions within the circle, but out of the 5 shuriken she threw, only one hit dead center. Obviously, the child wasn’t entirely happy with that, she needed to get better at throwing if she wanted it to be effective in combat. The child walked up to the stump and retrieved her weapons, holding them in her hands as she took a few long steps back. Standing closer to the target than before, she threw the shuriken at the target, thinking that if she has a clear vision (even though she can see perfectly fine) of the target from a closer range, she might be able to hit center more often. After she emptied her hands of the weapons, she checked to see if she had any improvement this round. So 3 Bulls-eyes and 2 near misses from center, the child scowled and shook her head, she needs to get better at aiming.

Taking her shuriken out of the trunk once again, the child once again distanced herself from the tree stump so that she can do more throwing practice. So far she was able to throw normally and throw pretty well at a closer range, but she needs to get better at throwing with more force. So that she can really do damage against her foes...though she hopes she doesn’t accidently damage her weapons. They are the generic store brand, the child shook her head, she needs to find a way to get better weapons soon, that would be lovely. Anyways, the child held her shuriken in her hands and and got ready to throw once again.

Frowning, the child choose to do a normal throw at her target, to get the feel of how much force her body natural uses when she throws her shuriken. Going through the overhead motions as she was trained too, the child sent the weapon plunging into the circle in her normal way. Holding her arm out for a second, she took another shuriken and did the motions again, this time however, she put more weight into her back leg so that when she throws, she can twist her body and arms with more force. To hopefully throw with more force and not send it flying off somewhere random, who knows with her track record. Following this plan, the child threw her shuriken extra hard at the target, sending it straight into the stump with a loud thump.

Curious to see how deep it is in comparison to her normal throws, the child walked up to the stump to examine the strike zone. The first thing she noticed, annoyingly, was that she didn’t even hit within the circle this time around. As she feared, she did throw off compared to normal, she must have released at the wrong time since she tossed her arm more violently than usual. The next thing she noticed was that the shuriken was embedded to the end of the one of the blades, not just a few inches like normal. As pleased as that should have made her, the accuracy, or therefore lack of, washed any of that away. She needed to be able to hit her targets if she wanted a harder throw to be useful, so she was going to have to spend time getting this correct.

The child pulled her shuriken out and reset her position, ready to better her accuracy with the stronger throw.

Learning - Brutal throw - 12/30 tp - Second post

Chizu huffed slightly and eyed her target, thinking about how she was going to make this throw work better. While making the throw impact harder was easy enough, what she really needs to to actually hit her targets. What she does know about her last attempt is that she had released her shuriken at the time she normally would for a regular throw, but since she tossed her arm with more force than normal, she reached and bypassed her normal point of release. The two timings simply didn’t sync up correctly, but she was going to beat that habit out of herself and make this work. Scowling, the girl retook her stance and got ready to throw, this time keeping in mind that she was going to have to release the shuriken earlier than what she’d usually do.

With great force for a child her size, Chizu hurled the stars into her target with a heavy grunt. As the weapon pierced the wood, Chizu drew her other shuriken and started to throw them each at the center of the circle, hoping that some of them will hit within the circle at least. Like before, she only threw 5 shuriken before she stopped to check how she hit. She narrowed her eyes very slightly, eyeing the multiple shuriken stuck outside the circle with vague distaste. Of course she wasn’t really that bothered by her failures, but her emotions can still manifest themselves very faintly, and she definitely wasn’t please. Out of all of those, only one hit within the circle, and that’s just unacceptable.

She knows that her perception issues was the reason she was finding this so hard. But she was also learning how to throw to improve her perception in the first place. Shaking her head, the child yanked her weapons out and set up to throw again. She hoped to see some improvement with repetition, but she also knew that she was going to have to train with her kunai as well after this, she needed to be proficient in all of her throwing weapons. So the child continued her methods, throwing her shuriken at the target with more zeal than normal. She tried extra hard to just focus on hitting her target, her hand eye coordination just needs to be perfectly synched. Of course, after throwing her weapons once again, she was painfully aware that her coordination is really shitty. 3 within, 2 out, better than before but still so far from what she wanted out of her throwing.

Learning - Brutal throw- 24/30 tp - third post

Retrieving her weapons, she let out a calming breath and fell back into her stance. She was going to keep at this until all of her throws hit within the circle. She wanted her accuracy to at least match her normal amount. Repetition is a key here, and she dreaded having to hit a moving target. She needed somebody to help her with her throwing, someone who wouldn’t mind her throwing sharp, pointy things at them that may or may not cause much damage. As she threw her shuriken, a certain Red-eyed man came to mind. He was stronger than her and he had offered to help her train, he had helped her before as well. She was sure that he wouldn’t mind her throwing weapons at him.

Whilst her mind partially left reality, her body flowed smoothly as it always had, adjusting to her new form quickly even if the child couldn’t see the results right away. Her shuriken had hit better, 4 in 1 out, but she still needed to improve. The child went through the steps again, throwing her shuriken with power, seeing if they all landed in the circle, shake her head and redo it all again. It was a little tedious, but anything was worth bettering herself, and she needed to make this work. Finally, after who knows how long she has been training this (she wasn’t keeping track), Chizu got all of her shuriken to hit within the circle, and even managed to get 1 to hit bullseye (though that was more from luck than skill)!

The girl pocketed her shuriken, finally satisfied with how she was throwing with them. She still needed to try to be more consistent, but she also needed to remember that she had multiple kinds of throwing weapons that she needed training with. So she took out her kunai and got ready to train them as well, she had always found kunai a more comfortable weapon than shuriken. So hopefully this will go much faster and easier than with the stars. So she did what she did for the other weapons, twisting with more force, releasing at an increasingly easier to sync pace and checking to see if her accuracy was matching up to normal standards. As she expected, her accuracy with kunai was exponentially better than with shuriken, within the first 2 tries, she managed to hit inside the circle and hit bullseye much more often. She played with the thought of ditching shuriken all together, but shook that away. She needed to master it even if she sucked at using them, to make herself better overall.

Description: Another prerequisite technique that brings the Throwing Specialist even closer to combat without fumbling or worry of using the weapon. Normally without this technique there is a chance the user could miss their target and strike an alley who may be in melee combat with. This technique makes the user proficient in hitting the target even if the target is engaged in close combat with someone else.
Limit: Must be a Throwing Specialist. Must know Point Blank Shot.

Okay, she needed to improve her accuracy! Her recent throwing honestly did nothing but tell her that she has terrible aim, that even though she can throw good enough to hit something, it's never what she wants. Worse, she’s not hitting her real targets on an immobile object! What if she was in battle and had to throw? She could easily miss her target and hit her on comrades with her level of skill. That wouldn’t do for many reason, and she disliked the thought of unintentionally hurting anyone. She liked to be in total control of her actions, and if she was gonna hit her ally for some odd reason, it would be entirely intentional.

Glaring at her target with purpose, Chizu held her retrieved kunai in her hands and let out a breath. She wasn’t going to accept any near hits anymore, these kunai will strike bulls eye, every last one of them. She can accept no less. Throwing her weapons, Chizu did her best to focus and aim at her target. She knew that they can’t all hit the same area, they would just bounce off each other, but she needed to compensate. After her first attempt of all bulls eyes, she only succeeded in getting two to land in the center. Shaking her head, the girl got her weapons and repeated the scene, trying to meet her goal and retrying when she couldn’t get all 5 kunai to hit.

Idly, she wondered how she would do throwing all her kunai at once, but she knew that that was out of her league and that she needed to focus on the now. She didn't know how long it's been since she came out here, and who knows when her mother is gonna call her in. What she did know was that she hasn’t hit 5 yet and that she refused to go in until she did, consistently. After at least 2 more throws on her part, Chizu finally managed to get all 5 kunai to hit the center of the circle. Inwardly grinning, the child sighed and rolled her shoulders. Need to make sure that that wasn’t luck. So she went and threw some more, knowing that she wasn’t going to be satisfied with only one success. Only after getting 2 more success did she realize that she still needed to do the same with her shuriken, so she switched up and had to deal with misses again. Thankfully it shouldn’t take long to get her aiming up to par, and she seriously needs a moving target to practice on.

Description: The user can treat any weapon as if it were 1 size category smaller than normal and one category "lighter" for the purpose of determining the amount of effort it takes to wield. For instance, a user with this technique could wield a Great Sword as a 1-handed weapon, or they could wield a large great sword as a 2-handed weapon. The weapon still deals its normal amount of damage.
Limit: Must take from Universal TaiJutsu.

Sighing, the child was starting to feel thirsty, do a short break was in order. Making sure she had all her supplies, Chizu grabbed her sand bag and started to carry it back to the storage shed, thinking about whether she should do a little more here or head out for the rest of the day. She had already been training for a few hours, and the sun was shining high in the sky still. Which means there is plenty of time left in her day to walk around the village for entertainment. She also needed to make some quick ryo, so maybe she should craft something? The child hummed, storing the bag and making sure the shed was firmly shut before walking back to her house.

As soon as she walked in, she saw her mother at the table, focusing hard on whatever it was that she was doing. The woman hadn’t turned to look at her, but Chizu was sure that she knew she had come in, she had a 6th sense for her child after all. Deciding not to bug the woman, Chizu got a bottle of water out of the fridge and eyed the two large weapons resting against the wall. She probably should do some sort of practice with her main weapons today, she thought as she took a gulp of water, it wouldn't do to just do small stuff. That decided, the child took her store bought naginata and got it settled on her back. She immediately head back into her yard, but didn’t bother to get her sandbag since she went through the trouble of putting it up.

As soon as she finished at least half of her water, the child stuffed the bottle into her butt pouch and drew her polearm carefully. The girl may not have any particular style, but she knew perfectly well how to handle her weapons. Her naginata wasn’t the biggest of its kind, but it was still over 5 feet of pole and 3 feet of blade. She needed to uses 2 hands to fight with the large weapon, but she felt that she could manage only one easily enough, with some practice. She steadied her stance, shifting to the side while holding her pole parallel to the ground, the curved blade of her weapon pointing where an opponent's throat would be. This is pretty much how she likes to hold it, but the lack of a real style slightly bothered her.

Deciding to just start with basic attacks, the girl put more weight on her back leg and quickly lunged forward, thrusting her blade forward with her movement. She pulled her front leg back to its original position and waited for a second, then lunge forward again. She repeated this 30 times, taking her time to go through the full motions. Next, she held her weapon with her right hand, placing her hand on the center of the pole and scooted up or down to find the right balance. She held the blade end forward and shifted her footing to support the new balance more. Once that was done, Chizu lunged forward, stabbing her blade into the imaginary target’s chest.

Learning - Wield Oversized Weapon - /20 tp - post two

This admittedly was a little awkward at first, she head to make sure she was still thrusting with the same power as with two hands, but she had no physical target currently to test that. She probably didn’t need one however and continued her thrusts until she reached 30. By this point she felt pretty confident that she was thrusting her weapon good enough to continue onto the next action. Switching back to two hands, Chizu held her naginata slightly above her head and did a diagonal slash downward. Slowly, she went through the motions, relaxing as she practiced. After she hit the amount, Chizu switched back to her right hand and tried to do the slash. She felt the awkwardness again and adjusted her grip a little, she tried again, adjusting her grips whenever she felt awkward. By the time she reached 30, she felt relatively okay with the slash, but she knew she was going to have to work on that further.

Her training followed this pattern, next she did the horizontal slash, two handed then one handed, then she worked out any awkwardness during the repetitions. Next was the Vertical slash, starting from the top downward and ending just before her blade hit the ground. Chizu had a feeling that she was going to work out her arms more in the future, and she needed to do this practice with her left hand as well. It’s good to be proficient in both. She followed through with this thought, first she reversed the slashes, making sure she turned the blade end to face the direction she’s slashing in. Then, she swapped to her left arm and did everything over from the top, but instead of 30 repeats, she did 60. Her left arm wasn’t her dominate one, so she needed to put more work into its training.

After she finished her attacks, she went back to two hands and did a running jump, slashing down into the ground. Then she took two large strides back into her original position. She did this again, making near silent grunts whenever she swung her weapon. This seemed to be working out fine, despite a litte strain from training all day, she was fine to go for more hours. Though she did want to do something else eventually, she thought as she went to one hand, maybe that Shining Seed place is still open, she could use their workplaces after this. Chizu stepped forward and did a low jabbing motion at where her foe’s legs would be. Doing basic strikes was okay, but she needed to be more mobile too.

Description: May only learn 3 times. This technique allows the user to better grasp the training of the Big "Freaking" Weapon. This Jutsu reduces the amount of movements it takes to perform a technique by 1. User may only learn this technique 3 times. On the 2nd learning this technique reduces the amount of movements of 1 technique per movement. The 3rd time allows the user to wield the weapon as fast as they possibly can, removing the 1 technique per movement restriction.
Limit: Must take from Universal TaiJutsu.

Chizu jumped back, a steady frown on her face as she readied her polearm, blade pointed up. With a silent expel of air, Chizu slashed downwards diagonally, then stepped forward with her right foot and thrusted the tip of her Naginata into where the midsection of her foe would be. Next she jumped back and spun on her right foot, holding her weapon with both hands as she pushed off her foot and slammed the blade of her weapon down. A small cloud of dust gathered where her blade dug into the ground, the girl hmm’d and pulled it out, twirling it in one hand.

She gripped her weapon with two hands and stepped forward to thrust, then skipped back two beats and braced herself to charge forward. She pushed off her left foot and cleared her previous distance with a grunt, stabbing harshly at the air. She stepped back to wrench her blade blade out of her imaginary foe and spun the weapon to do an upward slash. After that she backstepped, and held her weapon in a defensive stance. Chizu huffed softly and fell out of her stance, holding her naginata close as she closed her eyes.

”I have no idea what I’m doing.” she said flatly, staring up at the sky with a wider scowl. She really didn't though, she never head anyone with actually knowledge of the Naginata come to her and teach her the ropes. Sure she could probably ask one of her older cousins to teach her how to use the weapon correctly, but the only ones she know of that uses polearms are all out of country currently. She’s have to travel to get any help, the only other option was to go to the training center and pay a Master there to teach her, but she didn’t want to spend the ridiculous amount of money she would need to afford that training. The girl shook her head and took up her stance again.

Learning - Weapon Specialization: Speed Training - /30 - post two

Chizu whirled around, swinging her weapon in a upwards arch behind her. Then she stepped forward sideways and stabbed her blade into the air. Holding the pole with her right hand near the end and her left on the middle, she took another step and swiped the blade to the left, makings sure she was twisting her hips correctly to put as much power in her strikes as she could. She continued this attack for two more steps, her long arms visibly straining from holding her heavy weapon and the abuse from training almost non-stop. After she stopped, Chizu turned on her right foot and brought the blade up into a slash, then stepped forward in a twirl to spin her Naginata above her. Near the end of her spin she jumped up and let the pole slide down to its edge in her hand, releasing it from her right in the process.

Finally she ended spin in a knell, arms extended out and and a little sweat dripping down the side of her face. Slowly raising, Chizu rolled her shoulders, trying to work out any kinks that grew during her training. She idly twirled her weapon as she tried to relax her body a little. The sun was clearly visible through the trees, so she spent almost the first half of her day training in her backyard, not entirely a new feeling, but usually she doesn't do this much physical activity. But she guesses that this will be the new routine for now, until something comes up that forces her to change it. Like getting real instructors or going out on missions. That or the rare occasion of hanging out with friends or family, but that's usually afternoon shenanigans.

Stopping the twirl, Chizu held her Naginata steadily and feel back into the small routine she was making up as she went. Thrust forward, aiming for the midsection per usual, Follow up with a second thrust while aiming a little lower. Slash downward diagonal, across the chest, then a second horizontal slash against the legs. It wasn’t really hard to make the attacks flow, she knew how to use her weapon fluidly enough after all, but since she never had to use these skills against a live opponents, she wasn’t entirely sure it would hold together in a serious situation.

Learning - Weapon Specialization: Speed Training - /30 - post three

Chizu grunted heavily as she charged forward, leaving dust in her wake as she launched herself into the air. She spun her weapon above her head in a single hand, then brought it point down as she plunged into the ground, burying her blade into the dirt. Not missing a beat, Chizu wrenched her weapon out of the ground by pulling with a backflip, landing a few meters from her impact point. The child paused to check her blade, she knew that it was just a standard Naginata, nothing specially crafted or made from cool materials, so it's pretty flimsy when compared to the cooler weapons out there. Chizu knew she was pretty damn strong without the aid of any chakra, and sometimes she feared that she would somehow break her Naginata whilst training with it one day.

In hindsight, that probably means that it wasn’t good to use in actually combat anyways if that was true. It is a shinobi grade weapon, so it should stand up to her abuse and power well enough, unless she was attacking steel walls or some shit. Not that she would carelessly smash her weapon against a hardass wall, she’s almost sure that punching it would yield better results sooner than later. If her Taijutsu keeps improving at a decent enough rate that is, just gotta keep trucking on at a good enough pace. Chizu drew back on one foot and spun on her heel, twisting the dirt underneath her sandals harshly with the movement. She figures that it would only take a few more months to really start catching up with her elder peers, sure she has practically no experience, but that's why she’s going on missions and testing waters.

The child continued to pretty much dance around the clearing, slashing at invisible foes, and starting to add unnecessarily flourishes that honestly just made her look cool with no other real purpose. But then again, from what she usually sees whenever other shinobi fight each other, they see happy to make the move grander than necessary. To add extra movements and give them this feel of grace, she still wonders why that seems the norm. All things considered, they wasn’t dead yet, so there is some method to that madness. Suppose she’ll just have to learn as she goes. The Child snorted softly and dashed forward, stabbing low then using a standard grip to swipe repeatedly with every she took. On a side note, she really didn’t know what she was doing anymore besides flail violently with her weapon. She sorta stopped paying enough attention to follow a actually regimen. Maybe she was a little bored though, and the want to go off to do something else was strong. Chizu pulled out of a stab and spun her naginata in her hand, frowning in thought.

Chizu stopped her spin and held her weapon in a neutral position. She didn't really feel like training anything else at the moment, and it was nearing lunch time too. So staying out her doing the same thing wasn't going to fly anymore. Moving her naginata to her shoulder, Chizu checked to see if she left anything behind, seeing nothing important, the child made her way back to her house.

Once she got in, she closed the door behind her and set her weapon back on its spot on the wall. "Ma, I'm going to head out after lunch, is everything ready?" she called out after noticing her mother wasn't at the table anymore. Hinata peaked down from the second floor, "I knew you was probably going to leave soon, and that you'd forget about helping me finish lunch. So I already finished up the rest of the food and packed a lunch for you to take." Chizu stepped back into the kitchen and eye'd the box on the counter. Making a small noise, she walked up to the box and grabbed it by its handle. "Thanks Ma." She called up again, taking the box, and her Hoverboard cause she wanted to try somethingb and heading off to hang out in the village.
