Having just received the rank of genin, Karma thought he would celebrate by going for a walk outside of the village. To view the land he was the protector of now. He was a mix of excitement and concern. He had worked hard to get to this point and had spent so much time training, but at the same time he wondered what the future had in store now that he had made it this far.
His tousled red hair swayed ever so slightly as he made his way along the path outside of his village. It was unsafe to venture far from the guiding lampposts. To do so would surely lead to one being lost in these densely packed woods. That didn’t mean he was safe though. Every time he left the village he had his standard supply of ninja tools (Kunai attached to his right thigh, bo shuriken just above his left buttocks, tanto secured opposite of the shuriken, and a scythe he had picked up not too long ago strapped to his back). Not to mention his garb, just his black shirt and pants. His clothes were relatively worn at the seams and had some scuff-marks from training.
Then he spotted an opening in the tangle of trees. "I've never seen that before," Karma thought. He left the path to investigate this opening. He looked behind himself and, conveniently, there was a lamp on the road just meters from the opening. Still, Karma grabbed a kunai and sunk it deep into the trunk of one of the trees that made the opening as he passed through the gap. It was a tight squeeze; he could feel the bark scraping against his clothes. Pushing through he found himself in a clearing with a pond. The pond was no more than 5 meters in radius with some shrubbery speckled about its boarder. The canopy held tight 10 meters above where he stood and looking out it seemed like the area was 25 meters out by 20 meters across, a quaint little alcove amidst the forest. Taking a few steps over the dewy grass Karma made sure he could still see the kunai he left, "Still there." Karma continued forward focused on the pond and contemplating its formation.
