What is life without a little travel?

“Guess what?!” A girl said loudly, popping out of nowhere. The hybrid dog’s body jumped suddenly, startled by the girl’s entry. He looked up at her lazily, opening up his great maw and let a yawn escape quietly, stretching out on his bed. The girl slid down on to her knees, sitting close to the beast’s body. She unraveled a scroll in front of his face, Ottori smiled happily at Tenchi. “We get to go on a little vacation,” she said, raveling the scroll back up tight. Tenchi simply rolled his dark eyes, like they needed a vacation. The two haven’t done anything in years. Ottori glared at the hybrid after noticing his eye-action. “We’ve, well I have, been stuck here in the bloody village for years! Doesn’t it get boring?” she asked, looking desperately at Tenchi. The dog huffed loudly and nodded his head reluctantly. “Ha!” Ottori jumped to her feet and did a little dance. Tenchi rolled his eyes once again before getting up on to his feet or, er…paws. He shook out shaggy coat and then sat back down on to his bum. “Well aren’t you enthusiastic…” Ottori mumbled, brushing off her well-worn jeans. “Well let’s go!” The girl slid over to her door, letting it fly open, then suddenly watch a mass of dark fur zoom out. Ottori blinked a few times, watching her beast fly towards the streets, aiming for the country. “Hey!” she called out running after him. Her eyes widened as she skid to a halt, almost falling over. “Shit!” Ottori ran back and closed the door to her apartment. Tenchi let out an impatient howl as he stood there at the gate, waiting for her. Ottori locked the door quickly before running back towards Tenchi. She flashed the scroll towards the guards and smiled, before taking off towards the country’s border.

“Tenchi, I think we’re lost…” the girl moaned. Tenchi looked up at Ottori, which wasn’t really hard due to being less than a foot shorter. He simply glared at her and shook his head. “What? We’re not?” she asked, tilting her head slightly. The dog nodded at her, before walking forward. Ottori started flailing her arms wildly. “Why am I asking you?!” Though she did know the answer to her own question. She bowed her head and mumbled, “’Cause you’re like the smartest animal in the world…” Hearing this, Tenchi let out a gruff chuckle. “Ah, no one asked you!” Ottori yelled, following close behind him.

Pulling her vest closer to her body Ottori shivered slightly, the damp air nipping at her skin. She started humming softly, trying to keep the coldness out of her mind. A small smile appeared on her face, as she slowly closed her eyes. It was peaceful for once…”Gah!” She had tripped over something rather large. Ottori looked up finding herself facing Tenchi. She sighed as she jumped on to her feet again. “What was that for?” she asked him. Tenchi did not look at her though, he was staring off into the distance. “Hm..?” Ottori looked into the distance and saw what he was staring at. She laughed loudly while Tenchi jumped at her feet. “Come on!” The two suddenly rushed towards fields of green.

Ottori shouted with glee as they entered the country of Fire. Of course it was nothing like Sand, it had… trees, and grass! Walking a few miles in, Ottori sighed with frustration and plopped down on to the earth. She laid her head down into the grass and took in a deep breath. Of course her mass of dark, shaggy fur had to join her side. She smiled, noticing that Tenchi was beside her now. She turned her head to face him and started giggling, the grass tickling her face. Tenchi seem to smile at Ottori and leaned over to the side, so she could use him as a pillow. Ottori giggled once more, laying her head in his warm fur. A gentle breeze passed through the forest that they were in, making the girl and hybrid quite tired. Ottori closed her eyes and let her dreams carry her off…

After an hour or two, the girl finally started to stir. She slowly opened her golden gaze and yawned loudly. She felt the dog’s muscles stretch out beneath her head, causing her to sit up a bit. She tilted her head up, looking towards the sky. It had darkened quite a bit since they stopped. Ottori moaned softly as she stood up, a bone popping here and there. “I’m getting too old…” she said kiddingly towards Tenchi. The hybrid grunted, standing up and shaking his coat knock out the loose grass and leaves. Ottori sighed, looking around. She honestly did not want to leave this beautiful place but, she also did not want to get into trouble. “Welp,” she said looking towards the dog, “we better get moving.” Tenchi nodded and yawned loudly, taking a few steps forward…

Ottori eyes widened quite a bit. “Holy fudge!” she cried out, flailing her arms. Tenchi looked up at Ottori quickly hearing her mention a food product. She bowed her head and sighed. “We’re so close to the Chunnin exams… I hope we don’t get into trouble” The hybrid whimpered loudly, sad that her outburst had nothing to do with food at all. He huffed loudly and continued walking, his tail lowering slowly. “Eh… sorry, Tenchi,” Ottori said softly, before chuckling. Tenchi grunted and rolled his eyes, keeping his pace. “Just think about,” Ottori continued, “we’ll be resting from a hours now. Unless the kage decides to go psycho on us…” she mumbled the last part. Tenchi stopped suddenly, turning his body around to face the girl. He seem to have an evil smirk upon his maw and chuckled. “You wouldn’t…” Ottori said in a low, harsh voice. Tenchi turned back quickly and took off. “Hey!” Ottori chased after that damned dog, wondering what he was going to do. The girl had a small smile on her face, though, laughing softly. They would soon be in Cloud.
