When Harue shows up with her mission slip clutched in her hand still, she is buzzing with excitement though she does not know why. The public and working with them, taking orders and filling them, being instructed by someone with a God complex - these shouldn't sound like amazing things. And yet, here she was in front of the restaurant with a dumb smile plastered to her lips. She works to keep her face professional, hiding an annoying smile by biting her cheeks, as she walks in. When she goes to the front counter and shows off her mission slip, they usher her into the back.
Harue is not greeted with the same enthusiasm that she harbors for this place, instead a hasty man simply thrusts a uniform into her arms. "Put this on," he says, seemingly as though he is in a rush. He looks at a clipboard in his hand, tapping the lead of his pencil to the paper. "What's your name, darling?"
The term of endearment is a strange one, coming from a man she does not know. It seems to be a verbal tick as he says it again after she announces her name; Niyjua Harue, at your service. When she comes back from the bathroom, she wears the same clothes the rest of the employees wear. She is directed to put her clothes in the break room out back, where unclaimed lockers lay dormant. When she comes back again, she is handed a small notepad and a pen. "It's simple," one waitress tells her as she shows her the ropes briefly. "You watch the front door, and when people come in and take a seat, you go over and ask if they know what they want. We make custom drinks too, so you'll need to listen to what they say and write it down. Just try to be nice, no matter how rude the customers get." When Harue looks up at the girl, her eyebrows furrowed, the waitress sighs. "And customers will be rude. They think it's a rite of passage or something."
So Harue stays on her toes. She is nervous and jittery but only because she does not know how to handle a rude customer. She had not considered, this hurdle. Knowing her, she would now her head and take an insult - but what if she did not? It would be put to the test as an elderly woman comes in and takes a seat at a booth. Approaching her with her pad in hand, Harue smiles. "Hi! May I take your order, ma'am?"
"I'll just have the house blend, sweetie."
For the life of her, Harue does not know what a house blend is. She has to ask another waitress about it, who points to the menu. When the pink haired kunoichi turns away to the counter, she rolls her eyes at herself as she pours the elderly woman the restaurant special.
