Reports have come in that people have gone missing in the northern territories of the Land of Lightning and it has reached the point where a massive section has become deserted. Kumogakure has been contacted to send someone capable of discovering the problem and solving it before the affliction spreads further throughout the land.

Legends tell of a being of darkness that fell from grace long ago crashing into the depths where it was assumed dead. The story of it's fall is said to be held within a temple covered in ice at the foot of Snowcloak, the great frozen wall. This location holds the last pieces of civilization known within the area, the last reports indicating that the request for a shinobi came from this building

Drapped in his white cloak bearing the sigil of a direwolf Shiki road past the land in his Rideback. It's engine humming against the quite backdrop of fallen snow that surrounded the area. His armor kept him from losing most his body heat. Still wearing his winter clothing underneath his armor his body was able to resist the cold temperatures around him. Wind and falling snow whipped past his rideback sliding off the cold obdernium armor against his body. Strapped to the side of his machine were his two swords his Tokihaga and Thanatos. With all his gear on his bike it appeared fully loaded. Strings of meticulously loaded grenades, provisions, glowsticks, weapons and medicine were all in their place. A utility belt around his waste contained a series of scrolls that all contained seals and instant item summons to several different items he couldn't exactly bring with him. A system of intricate clockwork weapons were contained along his legs in small pouches. 

As he clutched the throttle his perfected stormium gauntlets sparked gently as he revved the engine. Inside each gauntlet was a perfected crossbow pistol that was self contained with a magazine of custom bolts. The rideback itself was extensively modified with puppet parts. The arms that were normally on the rideback were removed and replaced with dual grenade launchers. Shiki took a moment and let his visor scan over the countryside as he neared the area that he was supposed to head towards for his mission.

It's modular components and layered protections allow the implementation of several gadgets within the system itself. The Armor is covered in a dark matte black paint but there are engravings that revealed the soft glimmer of the bright metal underneath. The etchings were depictions of lightning and monsters. Images of direwolves, hydras and dragons. The armor is enchanted in such a way that when the command "Stand aside" is given the audience will become kind to the user unless they pass a will save of 35. The armor is matte black and can be painted to blend into other environments. There are 8 slots on the inside of the armor for harness gems to be contained. There is an auto injector harness built into the armor allowing the quick injection of vials or potions through the armor system. Any Successful save against this effect renders the target immune to this effect from this item ever again. It looks like a traditional broad sword, only that the craftsmanship is otherworldly. There are also 5 slots on the Blade where harness gems could be place. on in the pommel of the blade, 1 on either side of the sword where the blade meets the hilt. Description: Jewelers are always after the perfect pearl, a flawless sphere that is the perfection of the oysters toil. While a perfect pearl may fetch a kingly sum, Alchemists and others who harness the natural Alchemical properties from gems and minerals will scoff at such a perfect specimen. For these people, the pearls true luster and Alchemy is only revealed in a seemingly flawed specimen. A pearl that has grown with 2 ovoid hemispheres that resembles a brain in shape allows the natural Alchemical properties to be harnessed. It is rare for a pearl to form naturally into this shape, and a highly specialized profession of culturing pearls to grow into this shape has cropped up. Even with growing cultured pearls, the chance of successfully growing a gem of the wise is slim. It requires a well-crafted seed to be prepared and then placed inside the oyster. After several years the oyster is opened and only then will the culture know if they were successful. The pearls natural Alchemical properties is released in a properly grown pearl. [Effect] Through a direct link to the user’s chakra system and the human body’s natural electrical impulses, the sword grants its wielder several Raiton enhanced attacks.
[Special] Requires the Raiton release for wielding, as well as an active Sharingan. If Mastery in the element is achieved, the weapon’s powers are naturally increased, almost twofold. The higher the user’s difficulty class, the longer the sword’s effects remain in use.
[Drawback] Due to its direct link to the wielder’s chakra system, being weakened, severely injured or reaching fatigue due to chakra exertion results in the sword’s powers being inaccessible, rendering it nothing more than a simple blade.


[Description] Tokihaga is a legendary weapon revered in Kumo’s history books decades before a mysterious, great catastrophe had ravaged the lands. Appearing as a rare blade with innate Raiton power, it had been wielded by many experienced ninja until glory could befall them no more. While its originators were unmentioned, the blade at once point or another became widely popular amongst the shinobi world’s Uchiha Warlords. It’s unsure whether the blade was commonly produced or merely a rare amount existed. However, after time’s passing, and rumor’s of the one surviving blacksmith said to still be mysteriously alive and forging, it was confirmed that the weapon was intended by those possessing the Sharingan, as its various lightning based attacks could best be made destructive under the Copy Wheel Eye’s predictive powers. It is also rumored the great smith can be found dwelling somewhere in the Thunder Country, and that he will commission the blade only to those that can display the Sharingan.

To say the blade is enchanted is not entirely true. It appears to the eye as a short kodachi, the straight blade and lacking hilt kept strapped at the user’s back, and appearing to simply be a ‘last resort’ type of weapon. When 'inactive', its hilt is a snow white; however, when in the hands of the user, it'll shimmer a deep blue, a sign that the power of Raiton was now alive. It is crafted of the hardest metals known to man, able to withstand a thousand blows through a thousand years and never loose its sharpness. Additionally, some sort of shiki scribbled in small font across the blade of the hiltless Chokuto speaks of crying thunder. To the sages of times long past, it’d be an incantation unique to the blade’s user, tying the sword to their chakra system and effectively creating an open link. Although hard to understand, any adept Raiton user will quickly realize their release’s power is easily channeled through this weapon. After extensive training, the user also learns how to constantly keep a steady flow of Raiton chakra to the blade, allowing it to both cut through almost anything it touches, extend its size through pure chakra alone, and shock anything it strikes, as long as the object is conducive to lightning.

The blade itself is meant for a Sharingan user because of the chakra’s nature and its speed. Without the eye, one cannot pierce the foreign energies and properly understand it, making the weapon unwieldy and most of its powers inaccessible to members outside the Uchiha clan. Because the lightning that comes forth is so fast and hard to manipulate, the Sharingan’s natural talents effectively add reigns to the power, allowing it to be wielded properly. A higher Sharingan means a higher understanding of the techniques the sword grants. Additionally, the shiki itself is engraved into the weapon as it’s being forged by its only master, and it directly ties the user’s chakra system, meaning it is useless in the hands of another. If by any chance someone else were to fall upon the blade (and discover its true meaning), they can bring it back to the weapon smith to be “recalibrated”; it is rumored that while he commissions only for the Uchiha, someone displaying the sword as a prize of battle will be granted the weapon as their own.

[Limit] Must specialize in ninjutsu. Must know ‘Raiton’ release. Knowledge of the sword is extremely limited due to the fact its its ancient and as secret as MS to the Uchiha. However, tales of past Sharingan warriors sporting a glowing, blue sword and dispersing large amounts of chakra has been recorded in history; a careful RP discovering the secret will allow the user to be able to find the source, where they can attempt to gain favor from the creator; the weapon is available through a mysterious weapon smith wandering the Thunder Country. Once accepted, either I or a GM/staffer will set-up your initiation, which consists of completing one ‘S’ ranked Death-Enabled task for them, either in the form of a mission, event or test. He accepts commissions only from Uchiha members, and will require a sample of the Sharingan before the sword’s creation. The master makes exceptions however for those that bring the sword of a previous owner to him, and can in fact be wielded by Raiton masters, or members of clans/BL's prone to Raiton. In order to search for the Master in an effort to try and obtain the sword, you must obtain permission from Fina.

[Wolf of the Falls]

The ice-tombed structure would stand resolute against the storms as the winds howled and the only meaningful information collected form the scan would be the divots of snow filled footprints leading into the building. However within there was nothing, no people, no belongings, simply a large stone monolith in the center covered in ice like the floor itself. Upon it's surface would describe a tale carved into the pillar long ago.

Past the pantheon lays a cave carved from Snowcloak with large chunks of ice littering the ground around it, as if something broke out rather than breaking into the cavern. Lastly a cool wind blew from within and snowflakes dance in the air like a beast's breath fogging the air.

Shiki dismounted his bike as he neared the footprints. He leaned close towards the snow and examined the track. Snow was amazing for tracking. Not only because the trails were much easier to spot. But because crushed snow would create a perfect sized foot print. Any newly fallen snow on the foot print would also give him a pretty good idea of how fresh the tracks were. Since it was still snowing he could conclude that the tracks were made within the day. But how many hours and minutes would be revealed to him as he studied them more. (tracking 180).

There was a lot to be learned from the stride of the footprint too. The longer the stride tended to mean they were taller, width of the steps would indicate male or female do to their hips, pacing would indicate if they were in a hurry of if they were hurt, tread and depth could indicate weight and how much gear they were bringing.

Shiki paused for a moment as he used his helmet to take a picture of the boot print. Finally he would take a deep breath of the area to see if he could smell anything. Cold air is denser and heavier. It traps in the flavor and aroma molecules. Shiki would try and pick up faint scents of anything. Detergent, smoke, camp smells, perspiration. Finally using some monster hunting skills he picked up he would check to see if there were any trails of energy in the area. Perhaps someone was using a fire jutsu to keep themselves warm? Maybe they had some enchanted items giving them a constant buff? Shiki would find out what he was tracking well before he would lay eyes on them.

Strong scents, such as smoke or rotting garbage, can be detected at x2 the ranges noted above. Overpowering scents, such as skunk musk, can be detected at x3 normal range. When a creature detects a scent, the exact location of the source is not revealed—only its presence somewhere within range. The creature can take a movement to note the direction of the scent. Whenever the creature comes within 2-meters of the source, the creature pinpoints the source’s location. Description: Sniffing a Poison can be difficult however to a creature with this technique it becomes second nature. When a creature learns this technique they must take the time of half a round sniffing a person. Doing so, the creature learns what Poison lies within that person. For every rank the user knows Scent equates to the rarity of the Poison they are able to sniff out. "D" Rank Scent equals Common Poisons, while "S" Rank Scent equals Nearly Impossible Poisons.

Track Energy

Effect: A Venator gains the ability to track traces of all types of Energy, from Spiritual to pure Chakra.

Description: The user gains the ability to see traces of energy. The subject may follow the trail of any creature that has active (or continuous) Jutsus, Chakra items, or Special Abilities. User must make a Track check to attempt to trail someone in this fashion. Instead of weather affecting the subject’s ability to follow, discharges of energy in an area have the same effect as rain on the energy tracks. The energy lets the subject see a faint, glowing trail, but the subject cannot tell what type of energy creates it. For every 3 active Items/Jutsus/Abilities, the subject gains a +5 circumstance bonus to Track. This technique does not help the user track via techniques used to conceal or alter normal tracks, such as Trackless Step, but it would still give the user a chance to track other active energies in the possession of someone using those energies to avoid being tracked.

The check to track spirits is Very Difficult and is modified only by the time elapsed since the spirit was present (+5 to roll for each day elapsed). The user can trace the path of spirits through the air or solid objects, provided the user has some means to follow or circumvent the obstacle.
Limit: Must be a Venator. Must know Track. Must be an Expert in Lore, Spirit. Must know Tracking (100 Points).

Due to the depth of the foot print and the surrounding snow, it would be evident the print was formed 120 hours ago, the formation of the tracks would make it evident that the person was frantic, scared, desperate though not much else due to the erratic nature of the tracks. On the air he would smell the distinct scent of the cold itself but mixed in were hints of salt, iron; tears, blood. Both scents were heavy near the monolith and lead into the cave though there was still more for the would-be hunter.

The area had some kind of energy about it, though it would be tough to put a finger on it. In the pantheon there were indeed traces of fire in the air and even light scorch marks on the pillars though they had since frozen over sealing their scent while faint traces of water energy could be made out everywhere, though that could just be the storm. Depending on how strong the hunter's energy tracking capability was, he would be able to tell that the entire region was covered in a veil of frozen energy though that veil was older than the Hidden Cloud itself.

"Interesting..." (information not given. Height, weight, gender.) Shiki sighed as he felt the energy that was leaving a trace. It was old energies. Ancient in spectrum and power. He took a moment to run his information that he gained from its energy and ran it through his monster knowledge. He had an Eidetic memory and had read almost all the information on every monster, vampire, ghoul and creature on the planet. If this was anything known and documented in history Shiki would try and figure it out. (All monster lore 155) (undead lore 155)(monster hunting books read for all regions)(Lore master book read for monsters) 

Shiki paused as he let his senses reach out. If there was any sort of monster within 35 miles of his area not only would Shiki be able to sense it. Shiki let his sapphire eyes trace the path the prints took towards to building. If there was nothing nearby that he sensed he would continue to ride his bike towards the building.

The user can also discern whether the creature is moving, and its direction, speed, and mode of movement. The radius the user can sense increases by 5 miles per Class Level above "C" Class. Activating this ability takes up no movements.

Despite the hunter's expansive repertoire of monster knowledge nothing would ring a bell compared to the events transpiring in this region. Likewise he would find himself unaware of what had caused the despair that stains this very area like consecrated ground.

Shiki grinned. "This is something new." Shiki said. There was only one set of prints heading towards the building. Shiki rode the bike towards the front of the building. Whatever was in here was still here. Shiki looked at the busted in pathway that was created and grinned. He held out his prescience gem and looked at the destruction that was on the wall. Shiki looked at the wall first observing it for any sort of singing, cracking or damage to the wall itself. (observation 200). If there was any sort of residue of any nature. Including explosive, chakra, or just pure force or soul. Shiki would examine it and use his substance locator on his helmet to analyse it. 

Shiki kept his bike running and turned the sensors on so that if anything was approaching he would be able to figure it out long before it actually approached. Shiki would take out his prescience gem. There wasn't a ton of ballistics analysis that he knew himself. But luckily he had a gem that would make him an expert on the subject matter. (Prescience gem used for +75 ballistics and +75 evidence analysis. Synergy totals of 100 each.) As the magic of the gem coursed through him Shiki looked at the break in the wall. 

Knowing the relative strength of the stone and seeing where the debris landed. This way he would be able to determine the point of impact on the wall. What type of force the wall was hit by. More importantly he would be able to determine what instrument if any was used to break the wall. Whether a force missle, a hammer or a massive claw. Shiki eyed the room with his natural dark vision kicking in as he eyed the masssive room. He continued to use his X-ray vision to peer through the building up to 250 meters. 

Entering the room he kept his hand on his sheath as he looked over the building itself.

The debris of the ice wall scattered behind the pantheon reached a large distance from the opening though the way it was shattered was clean in a way like the ice was snapped apart as the opening was made. This would ultimately make the conclusion that rather than something breaking out, the structure had been filled with enough pressure to make the opening rupture like a damn rather than anything physically breaking through the ice.

The pantheon behind him while stained by blood and fire remained in stable condition if for no other reason than for the ice sheathing it's entirety. However as he scanned the hunter would find the material used in construction extremely dense as it hindered his x ray vision, most likely being composed of minerals such as lead.

Shiki nodded as he looked at the crack. "Got it. Ancient ruins opened up by some sort of fissure. Old energy... something ancient and spooky down their." Shiki's eyes scanned over the ground looking at the blood and fire. He eyed the fire still using his gems to determine the source of the fire. The fire was either natural, from a jutsu, from an explosion or from a creature. Using his substance analyzer he would be able to tell what the substance was with his helmet. Shiki took two gems of aversion and tossed it near the mouth of the cave. Anything that was evil or neutral would need to pass a will save they would never exit the cave again. Even if they did pass they would become slowed, weakened and mentally attacked by the gem. 

Shiki turned his attention back towards the pantheon so he could start his study of the scene. First it was time to check the blood. (blood splatter analysis) Using the blood replicator on his armor Shiki would start by putting a small sample of the blood into his machine. His machine would start to reproduce a small amount of the blood. Enough so that he might be able to determine the bleeders' blood type. Shiki judged the amount of blood on the ground. If the blood was human blood of course. Shiki would also be able to determine any special properties to the blood. If they were from a specific blood limit. More importantly when the blood was spilled. 

Shiki would then look around at the building itself looking for any etchings, art, clues or anything that might be important later. If he found anything he would take a picture of it with his helmet.

The analysis of the flame would come back that it was born from chakra though. As he analyzed the scene the hunter would see that a large amount of blood had been spilled near the monolith creating the frozen puddle beneath while the blood on the monolith itself seemed to have come from the victim's hands and mouth. The frozen red trail continued from the pantheon and into the cave while splotches of blood could be made out near the area where it had occurred indicating that something emerged from the victim with enough force to send the blood from the origin point.

Most of the pantheon itself was featureless though highly refined like a place of worship or a tomb. The only thing remaining of any detail or significance would be the monolith itself and the carvings upon it. Although his inspection would be interrupted by the howl of wind that pierced the area and in the same instant the snow had escalated to a white out blizzard leaving the hunter's vehicle out of view of normal eyes.

Shiki looked at the incoming wind. He made a few one handed seals and summoned a orb of protective force around him. This would keep the winds from ravening his body. He gazed over at the etchings and used his x ray goggles to see through the snow. He reached his hands inside of his coat and pulled out one of his clay Dokas. The small clay pot contained a warm chakra fire on the inside. This would keep him at a comfortable temperature especially with his snow clothes on. He continued to examine the etchings.

Tiny Hut

Effect: User creates an opaque sphere of force capable of protecting multiple targets from outside damage.

Description: The user is able to perform this technique at a distance of 5 meters. Duration of the Jutsu is 10 hours per Class Level. User creates an unmoving, opaque sphere of force themselves. Half the sphere projects above the ground, and the lower hemisphere passes through the ground. As many as 9 other Medium creatures can fit into the field with the user; they can freely pass into and out of the hut without harming it. However, if the user removes themselves from the hut, the Jutsu ends. The temperature inside the hut is 70° F if the exterior temperature is between 0° and 100° F. An exterior temperature below 0° or above 100° lowers or raises the interior temperature on a 1-degree-for-1 basis (thus, if it's -20° outside, inside the hut it's 50°). The hut also provides protection against the elements, such as rain, dust, and sandstorms. The hut withstands any wind of less than hurricane force, but a hurricane (75+ mph wind speed) or greater force destroys it. The interior of the hut is a hemisphere. Although the force field is opaque from the outside, it is transparent from within. Missiles, weapons, and most Jutsu effects can pass through the hut without affecting it, although the occupants cannot be seen from outside the hut (they have total concealment).

The carvings told a story, one that seemed to predate the world as its now known.

"There was once a god who commanded darkness among the others and he was the epitome of beauty as he carried out his duties along side his brethren. However eventually the seeds of descent were spread among the other gods, the story that the god of darkness was planning to over throw them one by one. It even went so far as to convince his love, the goddess of ice and water that he would turn on them and plunge the world into darkness and shadow allowing those who dwell within to take the world for their own. While the goddess of ice and water went to him to hear his rebuttal the other gods took the chance to cast him down into the hell that he was responsible for controlling before sealing him forever more."

At the end of the writing was a word scrawled out on the bottom of the monolith.

"Mateus"

Slowly the temperature continued to drop while the storm became worse and faint thunks could be heard in the area outside the pagoda, with his visor the hunter would see kunai sized shards of ice hitting the ground and causing large blooms of ice easily twice the size of a man to appear while the snow reached the point almost everything was white to the naked eye.

"Interesting." Shiki said as he took a photo. Shiki made some quick handseals as the soul caster techs he used protected his body from the cold temperatures. Shiki started walking towards the mouth of the cave. The giant hunks of ice seemed odd. Shiki nimbly sidestepped the giant hunks of ice. Finally he ended up at the caves entrance. He would pause at the mouth of the cave as he started to step inside. His natural dark vision was working in situations like these. He blinked a few times looking for anything strange.

Description: A personal or touched based technique. Works on 1 creature at a time. Duration of the Jutsu is 5 hours per Class Level. A creature protected by Controlled Soul suffers no harm from being in a hot or cold environment. It can exist comfortably in conditions between -50 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit (-45 and 60 degrees Celsius). The creature's equipment is likewise protected. Controlled Soul des not provide any protection against other environmental hazards such as smoke, lack of air, and so forth. User also gains 10 fire and cold resistance (this stacks with any they may have already).
Limit: Must be a Soulcaster.

The storm began to subside once it no longer sensed a living being out in it's clutches. Though the cave the hunter entered seemed to be carved from marble like the entrance to a temple rather than stone from pure pressure ripping through the earth itself. A short ways in The hunter would begin to hear staggered breath like the owner as shivering. the hunter would then come to a room roughly 10 feet in width and length through the other side was a solid sheet of blue ice.

However the blood trail that he had been following took an abrupt right turn and when the hunter followed it he would find a shaken older man in his late 30s clutching a waterskin in one hand while his other was covered in frozen blood but had a wound that looked like something had shot straight through it like a blade. While at first he wouldn't notice the hunter, if he spoke the man would flinch before looking at the hunter in armor.

"Wh-who are you?..."

Shiki sighed as he looked at the man. The monster hunter would eye the man at first just to make sure he was not trying to kill him. (sense motive 225) He reached into his bag and pulled out a small topaz gem. Shiki would forcibly put the gem in the mans hands.. As the man held it his wounds would suddenly start to mend themselves. (minor wounds healed every 6 seconds.) "Shiki Senri. The white wolf of Kumogakure." Shiki said patiently as he let the man recover his strength. Shiki touched the man and gave him his soul caster ability to survive in colder weather for a day. "I was sent here because of a missing persons report. I'm assuming something big and scary lives down here." Shiki said rather calmly as he spoke.

The man graciously accepted the topaz though his wound would not begin to heal as it was much worse than it looked and the very energy of the area was keeping the man from healing. The hunter would feel nothing from the man but the desire to leave, a desire so strong it was evident by the lose of his finger nails form clawing at the hard stone around him.

However this would be the end of the trek, there would be nothing but the stone room, the wall of blue ice, and the man. As the hunter touched him the man would hold onto him pleading as his body continued to shiver despite the cold resistance and just his look would convey the man's fear to Shiki.

"K-Kumogakure? P-Please get me out... He is gone but I don't know when he'll be back... I want to go home..." The man desperately pleaded and the light burns around his mouth would connect to the evidence of fire chakra outside the wall.

Survivor found! Return to Kumogakure before frostbite, hypothermia, and dehydration set in.

"Hold tight." Shiki would say as he looked around the room. He reached into his belt and pulled out a scroll that had a series of ritual seals on them. Shiki rolled the seal out and created a small series of hand seals over the paper. Shiki would grab the guy and set him in the center of the seal that Shiki was creating. Shiki would examine him one more time and detect the gentleman's motive and alignment just to make sure that this wasn't a trick. Shiki traced the ink around and with the snap of his fingers the two of them would find themselves in the land of fang.
