Zuruel spotted the girl with the lupine mask making another attempt at taking control of the swiftly escalating situation. She may have succeeded too – if not for Shiki’s far more dominant and aggressive tone. “Oh?” The Kedoin blinked as the barrier around him fizzled away. The group were now at the mercy of the sensors, save for Shiki who appeared to have some degree of confidence in the strange black aura surrounding him. Groaning, Zuruel collapsed onto the dusty ground with his arms and legs spread wide in a manner akin to a dead starfish. “If this escalates into a fight, shoot around me. I am just going to lay here and continue once the aftermath settles. In the meantime, sensors, have your way with me. Take that as a sign of my co-operation.” There were no headbands or symbols that associated Zuruel with Sand or any other Ninja village. He hoped that by utilising a smidgen of common sense, the Angel’s would realise that he and Lady were not Ninja and that Shiki did not speak for him when talking about the secrecy and respect Ninja demanded. In contrast, Zuruel was quite used to this. Even being treated far worse was a common and usually to-be-expected occurrence.
“There, happy? I am doing everything possible to ensure this doesn’t escalate any further.” Zuruel allowed the words to circle around his mind long enough for Lady to pick up on the thoughts – to which she replied with a pout. “You’re just laying there! Say something!” Having been inside of the barrier before Shiki activated his armour, Lady had already managed to peer into the white-haired man’s heart for long enough to sense his alignment, or at least assume it to some degree.“Please, calm yourselves.” She spoke to everyone in the area while approaching Shiki. “This man bears strong convictions, but has goodness in his heart. He can be trusted.” Lady hoped that her status as a Moon Dog would help grant her words more weight. In the meantime, Zuruel began whistling to himself whilst paying his surroundings no heed. Seemingly so anyway (90m enhanced hearing still active and analysing the surroundings). He simply glanced up at the sky without a care in the world. If given an opportunity to speak, he’d simply repeat the lines of dialogue he didn’t gain a chance to utter before due to being interrupted.
