A week ago, Inoryu had sent a letter to the embassy in Yokoburi that read,
Dear Itada,
Times have been slow recently. I figured now is a good time to get away from routine and see what my friends are up to. If you would like to hang out, Satu and I will meet you along the border of Kusa and Ame no Kuni on the 23rd of August. We'll be taking a stroll in the meadows near the Southern part of the border. -Inoryu Yamanaka
Today was that day, and he had risen early to purchase three bento boxes containing teriyaki chicken, carrots, and broccoli on a lettuce base, tempura shrimp, cucumber, squash, yakisoba noodles and an over-easy cheese omelet on fried rice topped with a thin, dark gravy. He purchased a thermal regulating lunchbox so that the bento boxes were expected to stay hot until ready to eat. He would meet Satu at the Kusakage Keep where he was expected to be at least getting ready. He entered the barracks to find Satu and asked if he were ready to embark. Inoryu had been excited for this day for the entire week and as he expected, the temperature would be perfect. Most days of Autumn were and he could adjust the winds if they were less than favorable.
When Satu was ready, they would exit Kusagakure and make their way West to the neighboring Ame no Kuni. Though near, the border was quite small compared to other lands so navigating to the meadows in the South of it would be a simple task for all involved. The two Kusa-nin began by passing through the Kusagakure Gate and would travel through the forest until they were on the main road. Inoryu wore a light grey shirt and black work-out pants with a bold vertical line on the outsides.
He had equipped his right butt bag containing two slots of bo shuriken, two slots of hira shuriken, two slots of kunai, one slot of darts, four blood increasing pills, an array of explosive tags (5 fire, 5 ice, 5 lightning, 5 negative, 5 radiant), and a compass baseplate. His tanto was secured on his back, vertically along his spine. The strap to the bag carrying the bento boxes was secured to his right shoulder and crossed his chest so that it hung by his waist.
"So how did you sleep?" Inoryu would ask Satu as they traveled through the morning, enjoying the sun as it exuded warmth. They would walk casually for about an hour until the rain clouds of Ame no Kuni could be seen in the distance. They would turn left to continue to his destination and finally say, "Let's wait here a while," after another half an hour in the middle of the meadow. Since exiting the forest and entering the meadow, they should be easily seen in the distance by Itada if he were to approach from Ame no Kuni. Inoryu would wave at him to confirm that they were friendly and go to meet him.
