Character Depth
Being Kamyuja-blooded, Jotun has a body far superior to those of ordinary mortals, but nothing comes without a price, in exchange for these feats his mind is plagued with a case of IED (Intermittent Explosive Disorder) and the Dissosiative Personality Disorder, an unfortunate combination that makes it difficult for him to form any long-lasting friendships or bonds of any kind, because his second personality is so different from himself, he has taken to calling it Takeshi instead of his own name.
Jotün In Depth:
One of Jotün's most notable traits is his stubbornness, once he decides he wants something, he will stop at nothing to make his dream a reality, for this reason people with similar qualities have his respect, as he was raised to think those who do not have such determination are just weaklings who can't fight for their own goals. Because he is a person who will stop at nothing to achieve them, Jotün is somewhat hostile towards figures of authority who try to boss him around and keep him from it, feeling little incentive to follow orders with which he disagrees, making him a unstable team player and a loose canon of sorts.
Jotün is no naive fool, he knows that life is replete with pain and misery, but that is why he has learned to appreciate all of the simple pleasures it has to offer, everything from eating, socializing, and the thrill of battle. Unlike optimists however, he doesnt usually expect the best, or claim that anything is remotely close to perfect, he simply learns to take the good with the bad, and if it's too bad, he does his best to change it.
A Trait that most often stands out is Jotün's temper, as a Kamyuja his mind is highly susceptible to mental disorders, he was diagnosed at a young age with IED (Intermittent Explosive Disorder) and for this reason tends to explode over reasons that would barely upset most people, despite this he can calm down quickly and rarely holds a grudge, his anger is the trait that he most despises in himself, if he could change one thing about him other then Takeshi, this would be it.
The most elusive of Jotün's desires are his deepest ones, few of his allies understand why he does what he does, sometimes not even he himself is sure, because despite his undying resolve, his one true wish is something he finds to be a preposterous notion, the one thing he has always truly desired is peace and for people to be more understanding of one another, in other words, a perfect world, he has always hated situations of oppression, injustice, and war, and hates seeing it happen to others even more then when it happens to himself, he is a bit hypocritical in this sense, as he isn't the most judgement free person ever, but he fights to protect those who cannot defend themselves. Despite this, he knows he can never change the entire world, and that this is his one wish that can never be a reality.
Ever since he was a child, he has been known to be incredibly curious, this has lead to both a thirst for knowledge and a tendency to stick his nose in places where he shouldnt, it has also been the reason for his love of Books, Alchemy, and all the greatest secrets of the world from forbidden rituals to lost civilizations. But this curiosity is never well recieved when it's directed to a person and the things they would much rather keep a secret, something that happens occaisonally due to his tendencies to be drawn towards unusual things, and unusual people.
Jotün's biggest weakness is that even in desperate situations, he is far too merciful, he believes in honour and enjoys sparring for practice, or just the thrill of it, he is also often overconfident in his own abilities, but he is strictly against actually killing any innocents no matter the situation, as he has already killed several in his rage and regretted every single one. Despite his reluctance to kill, he isn't afraid of offending anyone, his attitude can vary greatly depending on his opinion, being kind towards those he respects, and rude to those he does not.
Takeshi in Depth:
Takeshi in Depth:
Takeshi is Wrath, Takeshi is Fury, and Takeshi is all that is left of a childhood filled with unfortunate events, being cruel and merciless, his fighting style is relatively straight-forward, he has little patience tricks on the battlefield and would rather use his power to quickly cut people up or level them to a bloody pulp, he isnt really the type to go on a killing spree and will usually only take control when he has a target in mind, but will never hesitate to kill if people get in his way. Despite preffering straight forward approach, this does not mean Takeshi finds trickery to be useless, he is capable of switching to a more tactical approach if he deems it to be beneficial enough, and may be manipulative when it is conveniant, he simply preffers not to.
Arrogant and Egotistical, Takeshi believes himself to be some sort of higher being compared to normal humans, reffering to them as "Those hairless apes" when speaking to other Kamyuja, its only natural as he grew up with incredible power and incredible intelligence along with a flawless memory. Despite this his pride isn't the product of any actual confidence, quite the opposite, as he feels the constant need to prove himself by fighting stronger and stronger opponents, he was unable to save Auri, Pike, and the others he met during his time on the streets that where like brothers and sisters, a feeling of weakness and helplessness as the things he loved where taken from him and he was useless to stop them, feelings that in his opinion, a Kamyuja should never feel, so in a way, his desire to kill, destroy, and most of all win, is simply an attempt of telling the himself and the universe that he will not feel weak or helpless again.
Takeshi is the type of person that thirsts for power and knowledge, he claims those are the only two things that concern him, while this is not entirely true, it is still the reason he dislikes himself for struggling with Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, he lives for the thrill of battle and usually only comes out when someone needs their face stabbed, despite this he isn't the type to go out on a killing spree, murdering helpless people means nothing to him, he preffers to only waste his time on those powerful enough to give him a propper challenge.
Because he claims knowledge and strength to be the only things that matter to him, he will often come across as insensitive, and has a very strong sense of self-preservation, this doesn't mean he is incapable of caring for someone, as he cares very deeply for his dogs, and deep down his personality was made mostly out of self preservation, and thus he is practically incapable of trusting any human enough to form a bond, believing that anyone he meets has the potential to stab him in the back, he merely does it first, nothing more, he knows other think of him as a monster, but he believes everyone is a monster deep inside, every. single. last. person.
But really, to most, Takeshi is rarely understood, especially since a lot of the things he does dont really have a reason behind him doing them, at one point or the next, he may simply decide he wants to ignore someone for no reason, or perhaps even lie about something others consider important just because he happens to feel like doing that, having little regard for anothers emotions or well being, whatever happens to them isnt his problem, and why should it be? There are a few exceptions however, and there are a few people he might just respect enough to not try his tricks with them, although it really is rare.
Appearance:
Despite the immense strength granted to him by his blood, he has a relatively slim, but Athletic build, a result of his heritage and years of training in Martial Arts, his muscles are hard and firm from his neck muscles all the way down to his powerful legs. Contrary to what one would expect of a warrior, Jotün has barely any scars, and the ones he does have are nothing but small cuts, his body guarantees that even strikes mighty enough to kill an average human leave nothing but flesh wounds.
Despite his clearly muscular build, most people never even realise how strong he is since his usual attire, especially his cloak, covers up any hints of his immense strength. Most of Jotün's physical traits are taken from his father, but his facial characteristics are his mother's, having inherited her bright golden eyes, some cultures say the eyes are a reflection of a creatures soul, and in his case would reflect a pure golden heart, he only wishes that where true.
His hair too, is golden, he likes to wear it long, usually keeping it in a braid that goes down past his shoulders, but occaisonally wears it in a pony tail or lets his hair hang loose. He parts his bangs in the middle, letting them fall to the sides of his face, a small, upright strand of hair resides in the center of the parting, which is perhaps the most peculiar of his features.
Being a warrior, Jotün prefers to keep his clothing simple, with the exception of his red cloak he doesnt stand out at all, tending to wear black clothes, usually pants and a sleeveless shirt that wont hinder his movement, along with a sweater under his robe if its particularly cold, as it tended to be in the Land of Snow, as for his size, he is slightly shorter then what is considered average for his age, but is also far heavier, this is because of both his muscles and extremely dense bone structure.
When Jotün is enraged due to normal anger or the activation of his Chaos he can give off a sort of beast-like feel, his muscles tense, and his usually straight posture changes to a slight slouch, this primal appearance is mostly due to his Inuzuka blood and doesnt necessarily mean he's lost all control, (Except when he has) his growling also making his teeth seem bigger as he rarely opens his mouth enough to see them in the first place.
Background:
Chapter One: The Birth
There are many things that are determined at the time a man is born, from appearance, to status, intelligence, social class, it was perhaps wrong for Takeshi to complain, as many others suffered much worse from the cruel hand of Fate, but the beggining of his life was certainly an unpleasant one, he was born to a Kamyuja blooded couple in the Land of Snow, his father was a very large man, and very abusive, especially towards Takeshis mother, he was angered often and seldom held back his fearsome strength, causing dangerous injuries to her.
The time of Takeshis birth was the first his mother had felt such strong happiness in a long time, she thought him an adorable child, and was filled with joy every time she could cradle him in her gentle arms, it was Takeshi's incredible memory that allowed him to remember those moments with his mother from when he was first growing up, he saw her as flawless and perfect through his naive, childish eyes, these innocent thoughts are all he remembers of his mother till this day.
Chapter 2: The Raising
While it was for different reasons, both of his parents regarded him as their pride and joy, his father, being the violence-loving brute that he was, loved the fact that Takeshi was born such a powerful child, even by a Kamyuja's standards, at the age of 3 he was capable of lifting furniture and fully grown adults into the air, much to his fathers delight, he was confident his son would become a competent fighter, there was nothing that suggested otherwise, he was by no means a calm child and could be quite destructive when he was upset, but this was typical for the children of the clan.
Chapter 3: The Academy
Takeshi's father was very proud of him, a pride not unlike an arrogance applied to his son instead of to himself, he would brag about his son's strength any chance he got, and often dreamed of the day his son would be a powerful Jonin. It was when Takeshi reached the tender age of 6 that his father decided to enlist him at the Academy, the headmaster was at first hesitant to let the child in, but he couldnt deny the boy was both leagues stronger and smarter then anyone currently enlisted in the school, his fathers Rank and stubbornness was quite a pain to deal with as well, it wasnt before long that the principal finally gave up and decided to allow Takeshi into the Academy...reluctantly.
He was a clever child, born with a "Photographic memory" and learned to read and write before even entering the Academy thanks to his mother, as did most of the children, but few as well as he, having a fair amount of vocabulary and knowledge he easily passed most written exams, and with his heritage most physical exercises wheren't anything more then a joke, his ability to lift things several times his weight even caused fear in most of the children, but it was only until the class was old enough to really start learning to fight that this success would last.
Learning the very basics of Martial Arts where their first glimpse of what true combat was, this included practicing the ideal stances, properly punching and kicking, and Kunai Throwing, all where things Takeshi strugled to get the grasp of, he was strong, but he had a hard time moving his body with any real skill, but that wouldn't be the worst of it, for his real trouble was with anything Chakra related, even the basic Tree climbing and Water Walking skills seemed ar beyond his ability to perform.
At first the teachers where patient with Takeshi, he was the youngest after all, but the months passed and he showed no sign of improving, testing their patience, soon enough there where complaints about having such a young child attend, but the Principal would hear none of it, they where teachers, it was their job to teach, and the boy had done nothing wrong. If only the students had such a futile reaction, Takeshi's newfound lack of talent was like a sign of weakness to them, making him a target for the children who wanted someone to pick on.
Chapter 4: The Dark Half
Chapter 4: The Dark Half
Like most children when they where picked on, Takeshi didn't know what to do, he had been taught many things, but never how to deal with bullies, at first he tried ignoring them, but every insult stung more then the last. This went on for several months, being too scared to do anything about it, his only hope was to become someone who wasnt. It happened suddenly one day, the innocence in his eyes wasn't as present as it had been the previous day, in fact, it may not have been there at all, his eyes where cold that day, his expression haunted, no one dared walk near him in the school halls except when they came to pick on him, but the person they tormented was no regular six year old, on most days he would've been, but just for today, the person, the thing standing in front of them was nothing short of a monster.
The time it took to beat the child into a bloody pulp was just enough time for the teachers to arrive, the entire school had gathered, staring in shock, it took several teachers to hold him down, but by then he had beat the poor child to a bloody pulp, was he even alive? It was hard to tell, but the most unnerving thing in that room was not the corpse, it was Takeshi, the boy should've been horrorized and in tears over what he had done, most days he would've been, but today he was smiling, but not the sort of smile designed to make anyone happy, it was the sort of smile that sent chills down your spine, that no child should ever have to see, much less wear upon their face.
The first thing the school did after the "incident" was take Takeshi to one of their Medical Proffesionals, it was clear the boy was no healthy child, and after about half an hour of asking questions he finally concluded that the boy did indeed have a mental health issue, most likely multiple, but he did not know what it was, he didn't have the time or the pay after all, but one thing was clear, they couldn't allow such a mentally unstable child to continue studying at the Academy, he would be sent back home early that day, and he would not be returning either, he had been expelled.
When he got home, Takeshi's body was shivering, his eyes where alive and his face was pale, thinking about what had happened at school that day, his fist had moved on its own, and he wasn't the only one shivering in terror, his father laughed, proud of his boy, but his mother was in a state of shock, her eyes wide with fear, and that was the hardest thing for the child to see, because the most scared he had seen her mother was not any of the times he watched his father threaten to beat her, it was right there, in front of him. His ears where numb to his fathers praise, and his fists where still covered in blood, he couldn't help but wonder, when did this happen? When did he become a monster?
His mother looked scared, but still she tried to speak up, she said she wouldnt believe her child had become some sort of monster, she couldn't, but that was when his father got up and turned to her, he called her pathetic, asked why she couldn't be more like her son, he took a step forward, to which she reacted by retreating a step back, her face was always so happy and peaceful in public, anyone's guess would've been that they where a happy family, but not Takeshi, he was the only one who watched every bit of the things that others didn't see the only one who saw his mother get beaten by him and still refuse to go to the hospital, and all those times she simply cried herself to sleep.

As these thoughts filled his mind, the boys expression was filled with all of the feelings that had built up over the course of his entire life, his right hand, covered in blood, made a slow fist "Dont talk to her like that..." But his father, still laughing showed no sign of having heard, Takeshi closed his other fist, enraged "I SAID LEAVE HER ALONE!!" he yelled at the top of his lungs, but he didn't know his own strength, his very shout sent everything else in the room flying including both his parents, his eyes becoming pitch black. He yelled, becoming consumed by Chaos, just for a second, one could see past the anger that lay glittering on the surface of his eyes, for a moment see the pain underneath, raw and bloody, like a wound to deep for healing, but then he struck his fist upon the ground and only anger remained, the earth crumbling beneath them, his father shocked and his mother unconscious, with the beast taking over, Takeshi would beat his father to a bloody pulp, this would go on for several minutes, even after the man closed his eyes and stopped responding to the pain, but soon the Chaos would take its toll, his vision blurred, reality started to fade, and everything went black.
When Takeshi opened his eyes, all he saw where bright lights, his head felt dizzy, the blurry lights starting to focus, he was laying in the wreckage that remained of his home, for a moment he didnt react, simply taking in everything that had happened, what had happened? It sounded like there where people talking out front, but then a single thought passed through his mind that blew the others out of proportion "Mother!" He looked around desperately before quickly locating her head, the rest of her buried under a pile of furniture the scent of blood was in the air, he crawled towards her, taking her hand, a single tear dripping down his cheek, his face showing sorrow for just a brief moment before quickly becoming serious again, he knew what he had done, but he also knew it was no use being sad, he had collected himself for now, but someone could come in to inspect the interior of the wreckage at any moment, he had to leave quickly, he was responsible for his parents's death, this was what he was...a criminal, only 7 years old and just one kill away from being a serial killer, he wasn't one to believe in religion at all, but his mother was, so he took her hand and bowed down his head, praying a silent prayer that her soul would make a safe passage into whatever afterlife she believed in "This is the only thing i can do for you, i'm sorry...you deserved a better family" up until this point he had'nt showed much sadness one might think he should, but he was barely holding it in, it was as he said those words that some of the overflowing pain started to leak out, his voice quivering with sorrow and regret. With that he would take what little food he could and jump the window, never to look back at the home he had lost.
Chapter 5: To The Streets
But such scarce food could only last so long, even to a being that didnt need to eat much, it wasn't long before Takeshi was starving, and soon had to find a way to sustain his life, at first he started doing small jobs for farmers and local townsfolk, wether it be carrying things or being a messenger, but working so long for so little in the cold Land of Snow was taking a toll on even his body, and soon he would need to resort to stealing, the first times stealing where always the worst, at first he had to learn to cause distractions, using multiple mice or roches he would catch from the sewers and letting them free near vendors, this usually created a lot of comotion, especially among women, allowing him to slip in and steal an apple or two, but eventually he learned to steal discreetly without such a commotion, it was a dishonest life that he hated, but at least it meant he could survive.
One day he saw a dog on the road, it was small and much to weak to be wandering around this country, so he took the poor thing in, naming him Theo, both of their bodies soon became stronger with the food Takeshi was able to steal, but one day, he was drifting through the cold winds in the land of snow outside the city borders while trying to deliver a message from one of the townsfolk to a farmer, but his body wasn't at full strenth and was not strong enough to make a hike in the snow, so eventually, he just blacked out.
When he woke up, he found himself laying in a bed, a sensation he hadn't felt in over a year, he was on a farm that belonged to a middle-aged woman named Vashet, with long blonde hair, once the boy awoke and the woman discovered he had no parents, she attempted to look for someone to adopt the lad, but with no success she took the child in herself as she had grown quite fond of his curious nature, but he would not tell her his name, so she named him Jotün, perhaps to make fun of his shortness, but she was also no mere farmer, for a long while she served as Jotün's teacher, teaching him all sorts of Alchemy the boy had only dreamed of learning, and educated him in a number of other things such as how to mold chakra and properly make use of a Shield and a Blade among other tools of warfair, but most importantly, she taught him how to do without them.
She was a strict teacher, but a loving mother, and for a time Jotün was able to truly forget about the life he left behind, figuring he could live quite contently here on the Land of Snow, but "Takeshi" had other plans, after what the boy had done to his parents, he didn't believe he could trust anyone in the land of snow, he took Theo along with whatever he could carry, using his strength he would strike the ground with all his might, creating the earthquake that would seal the death of anyone in the surrounding houses, and with that, he would leave the country for good.
