Suno sat atop a tower staring down into the darkness lost in his own thoughts. The sky above continued its ever constant weeping. He had the hood of his cloak pulled up over his head trying his best to keep the water out of his face. It didn’t help. Blinking suddenly, he pushed his fist into his right eye and rubbed it hard. His eyes had been bothering him a lot recently. He thought back to when his Sharingan first appeared. It bothered him much the same way as it currently did. But that is exactly what bothered him. It shouldn’t bother him anymore, the “gift” of his people had activated itself. Maybe because it wasn’t mature? His parents had been frustratingly silent on the matter. The refused to really share any more than they had to. They preferred for him to just figure it all out on own.
A cry from below snapped him out of his thoughts. Lowering his fist, he closed his eyes and focused chakra to his eyes. Opening them up, the second stage Sharingan replaced the dark coals that had been there only moments before. The irritating itch had also subsided some while he looked around. He scanned the streets looking for the source of the noise. Narrowing his eyes he focused on a group in a nearby alley way.
“What do we have here...” He muttered silently to himself. His fingers twitched suddenly as he reestablished his connection to Shino, his puppet. While it was dark, his eyes allowed him to see the world around him as if it was a sunny day. Well maybe not that well, but his eyesight was much better than the average person. Twitching his fingers once again, he and his puppet made the same moment. Crouching low, they would jump forward to another nearbye building, trying to get closer to the action. As he got closer, he began to make out faces and slowly piece together what was going on.
Several thugs had gathered around a woman and her child. His lip curled up in disgust. He loved his village, he loved his country… but criminals run rampant here. The village was small, and the country poor. The Shinobi who dwelled here just couldn’t handle every crime boss and gang that popped up. They had other matters just as important to deal with unfortunately for the citizens of the Hidden Rain. He couldn’t make out what they were saying exactly, but he could guess, and based on their body language, they were gonna get what they wanted. A man said something causing the others to laugh. The Child seem not to like this comment and said something back. This of course caused the other men to only laugh harder. Finally above the commotion, he creped ever closer to the group, but parts of the conversation began to float up to him. Before he could piece together the conversation, he saw the kid charge and get pushed back to the ground.
This caused another chorus of laughter. However they were not done. He saw one of the men pull something out from one of his pockets. A Kunai.
“Its time to teach the brat some manners boys!” Suno heard one of them say. His Sharingan active, he saw what was coming next. Reacting with amazing speed, Suno flashed one of his arms forward, causing the puppet to fly toward the ground below. Covering the kid in a protective stance, a loud thud could be heard as the weapon hit the puppet. With his other hand, Suno was reaching into his own weapon supplies, pulling out several senbon needles. The sudden appearance of the puppet scared and shocked most of the men below. Unable to help himself, Suno twitched his fingers and caused the head of the puppet to spin backwards facing the gang, giving it an unnatural look. His puppet looked just like him. In the dark, he knew his puppet looked very much like a real person, so to see a head turn in an unnatural way, he couldn’t help but smile at the sudden cries coming from the men below.
The man who was throwing the weapons seem to be in charge. He also seem to collect himself quicker than the others. Looking hard at the puppet, he seem to feel like something wasn’t right. He also seem to be smarter than the rest as Suno could see him slowly starting to look around above him while the other men were still focusing on the puppet.
“Where ever you are… this doesn’t concern you!” He cried. “This is between us and this trash here. Leave us be and we won’t have to punish you.” Suno rolled his eyes. He was not going to be so easily bated into giving away his position. Aiming for one of the other men, he released one of the needles in his free hand. The man screamed when a needle suddenly hit him in the back and began to panic. The others began to panic as well.
“Tighten up you boobs. Search for him. There is only one and he can’t fight all of us.” This seem to settle some of the men, but others were looking at each other nervously. Watching the group closely, he waited for the right moment before releasing more of the needles.
He relied on the Sharingan, and the ability to predict their movements to time his throws just right so they wouldn’t see where they were coming from. It was almost too easy. Normally he didn’t like to rely so heavily on his eyes but he was out numbered, and the lives of the Woman and child were at risk. He wouldn’t see them harmed because of his pride. Just as he was about to throw another needle, a flash lit up the sky.
As lightning streaked across overhead, Suno and the gang leader locked eyes. After that, things got crazy real quick.
“Look! There he is! He’s just a brat, get him!” And faster than he thought possible, the man hurled another Kunai at the boy. Suno only had enough time to shift his body over slightly to dodge the weapon. Had he not been using his Sharingan, the weapon sticking out of the side of the building would have been sticking out of him.
