It didn't take long once Oros was outside the village to find a lamp to settle under and plan his next course of action. Taking a few steps off the path, while still within sight of the wooden walkways, the giant began to double check his gear. He had swung by his housing before departing to pick most of it up and to let Blitz know where he was going. The war dog was not pleased that he was being left behind on this one, but Oros would make it up to him later. His dog was in good hands with the neighbors. Or, rather, they were in good paws.
Oros packed light for this mission, not expecting any sort of conflict along the way. It was a bonafide real estate hunt, at the end of the day. He had opted for his his Tactical Chest Rig to couple with the utility belt he usually wore, just in case he stumbled across some new items that he needed to hold onto. His thirty-two caltrops and two kunai were tucked away in the pouches on his chest, while his compass and three sticks of flint were tucked in his belt. And, most importantly of all, the map he just bought was tucked in the pouch on his left side of the chest rig. He had opted on leaving his slave collars at him; he was doubtful they would be useful for this scenario.
Pulling the map and compass free, Oros draped the former across the wide stump of a willow that had been cut down already, snatching up a few stones from the ground to weigh the paper down on the corners. The giant placed a fifth pebble in the middle of the map, where he had been taught Takigakure to be. This map did not show its location normally, and Oros did not want to mark it with something permanent, lest it fall into the wrong hands down the road. The compass he sat in the top right corner. Oros was currently oriented south, so the red arrow pointed through him towards the north.
Oros studied the map, planning his next move. One of the required specifications of the warehouse was the need for an extended dock. Two major rivers passed through the country from north to south, with the more central of the rivers feeding straight into the hidden village. It made more sense to the giant that he searched for a warehouse in a town that was built upon this river, especially if the town was situated between Takigakure and Seisui, a great middle-ground between the capitol and the village. Sure, he could head all the way to a town that was built upon the shores of the Bay of Buddha, but Oros figured that it was too far a distance. The receptionist mentioned that this warehouse was going to be used to house equipment for shinobi, so it needed to be close for easier accessibility.
Finally, Oros tapped a dot on the map. Kawozoko. A "B" ranked town due north of Takigakure. Small enough that foreign spies or terrorists might not go in search of Kage owned property, at least without real evidence, but large enough that he was likely to find a warehouse that matched the specifications given to him. All he needed to do was finish his trek through the immediate forest surrounding the village, and then head north. As long as he kept the river beside him, he'd run straight into the town.
Pressing his palm against the map, Oros swept the stones off before rolling the map back up. Both it and the compass returned to their respective locations before Oros rose to his full height again; he had been kneeling over the map. He returned to the pathway, eager to follow it the rest of the way out so he could start heading north.
