/retiring, 11 years later...

In the guise of a black wolf Axel laid upon one of the boughs of the great tree which overlooked Takigakure and his memories flit through his life. From early on when his aunt and Uncle had taught him the ways of the clan and how to use his ice. The first friends he had made outside of the village, Rhydas and Ace, training under Nyu when he was the Takikage. The first time he had met Rosalie when she was still young and fresh from the academy. the chaos that followed not long after she had taken Axel's place as the new Takikage and her sudden ageing leaving them both at a crossroad that lead to their love.

His gaze fell to the water below as memories of his kidnapping filled his head back in the land of snow and the experiments that lead to the form he had now, the lives lost, the amount of times he had died. Meeting Rosalie again as a woman in her own right made his heart flutter before he lost her and Ace not long after her. He remembered Scahtzi and Genkaku, especially Zuruel and Lady but his heart kept his head fractured.

Since then his scattered memories were like a far-off dream, trying to line the pieces up. Knowing that Rosalie was on the other side calmed the raging storm in his heart and his mind enough to decide how he would continue, how to move on. He'd give Loden Ace's eye since he entrusted him with the village and the future.

Soft warmth filled his flanks and back making Axel look up around him and a soft content sound left the wolf. Hime, Exccel, and Rey were there, they'd always be there, his pack. As a quartet of howls rang out over the Waterfall Village the wolves would fade into the dark at the service of the current Takikage, Axel Inuzuka.
