the fight was over in the blink of an eye -the combined force of the three friends ended up in the annhilation of the beast. One would normally celebrate, and the three were indeed starting to do exactly that - we remained silent however - something felt wrong. The beast was dead, his putrid smell turning fresh air into poison started to spread because of the ..."WAIT! THE WIND!" a beast so massive, coming out all of a sudden - either a leader or an important figure in the hierarchy of these remorhaz beasts - it had to have attracted the attention, either by sound or by smell. Three acid spits came flying from our right - as our hands touched we joined bodies once more only to see the  acid spits miss Gwyn as she was being absorbed. "No time for pleasantries."

I'd casually look over at the creature emerging from the ground and activate a small device on my waist. One of the "witch tears" that Loki had crafted for me quite some time ago. The device, aided and controlled by my blood limit allowed me control the grenade effortlessly down the creatures gullet. With a series of silent explosives a massive shockwave would kill the creature blowing it into utter oblivion. 

"As I was saying... What do you think? You in?"

hey had barely been able to walk around the elder beast before another version had come into the area. It had been so sudden that Emi barely was able to get himself into a defensive pose before it was upon them. But the former kazekage had reacted so swoftly with his explosives that when Emi was ready to fight, only chunks of the beast rushed towards him. Slime, blood and other unpleasant liquids covered him in a mere second. The Hoshigaki just stood still there for a brief moment before he started to whip the slime away from hos arms and pull it off from his robe.

Like all the other Hoshigakis I have an innate affinity for water, but I have always liked the earthen element better. So my to me it has always felt like the bulette is my spirit animal, not the normal shark.

As he mentioned the mythical beasts, he realized that it had been quite somw time since his own bulette was able in hos presence.

Also, Ive recently discovered that the restrictions of the clan is not always so ultimate.

He then threw off a particular large amount of goo before channeling some chakra in his hand and had it turn into an electrical sphere. When he had then send the orb into the second beast he had all of the dirt, slime and rust on his equipment just fall off.

8. Zuruel smiled wryly at Shiki’s proposal. “You’re onto something there.” He said, while pointing upwards. “Let’s make sure we are on the surface level of the tundra while sparing. I wouldn’t want to accidentally bury Emi and Gwyn under frosty soil.” Grinning, he turned to glance at Ald, who he did not mention, with a sly wink. “Let’s do it.” Exiting out of the hole to the surface level, Zuruel stretched his body while glancing at the snow-covered surroundings. There seemed to be no cover for at least a 300-meter radius. Just a plane flat white surface, perfect for a spar.

“This should be fine. Enough force, and an adolescent Remorhaz can sense tremors within the earth from miles away.” He grinned while ensuring the starting positions were no more than 20-meters apart. While doing so, Zuruel snapped his finger to cause a single shadowy gauntlet to appear on his right hand with a puff of smoke. Other than the deceptively mundane weapon, Zuruel was naked, pale white skin on full display for all aside from a cloud of steamy mist wrapped around his nether regions which strangely hadn’t seem to have vanished all this time despite all the fighting and abrupt dashing manoeuvres.

I had always found Zuruel's humor to be somewhat forced , but hilarious nonetheless. After says the things he usually does, i simply smiled and addressed Shiki. "I missed seeing you fight" We spoke in unison as our voices intertwined with eachother - we spoke with affection and a drop of nostalgia mixed in within our tone. "You were gone for some time  and hopefully, now that you are back , we hope that we will see you around more often - the village definetly needs it." If Shiki planned to stay, things could move towards a brighter future for the Sand village - his presence mixed in with our plans could definetly shape the future towards something beautiful.

9. “Look at that, Shiki. You have your own personal fan club.” Zuruel grinned as he overheard the twins words. He found it rather unusual to witness those two individuals showing such solemn respect for someone. However, it made sense. The two did come from the same village. “Shiki was Kage too back then I believe? I wonder if he knows that the twins have stolen his mantle in his absence?” The Kedoin snickered to himself playfully at the thought while waiting for Shiki to appear. Despite the lack of clothing, the cold didn’t really seem to be bothering Zuruel in the slightest.

"It was a pretty closely guarded secret. I'm surprised you knew that Zuruel. Though, I expect anyone with close ties to the coven tend to uncover secrets eventually." I'd pause for a moment pausing to think about how to best explain the situation. "Lady Amira... She was sick and I just happened to owe her a life debt. Sunagakure could not afford to appear weak so they hired me on as a Jounin-Commander acting on her behalf. Still, understanding that I was an outsider and to many a traitor from another village. I reasoned that it would be unlikely for them to accept me as Kage, especially after moving into the village so quickly. I deduced people would likely expect foul play and endanger the students I had attracted here."

I was never one to run from a fight. But sometimes removing the need for a fight would suffice for me. 

"Thus, we let Amira rest and recover until a cure was found. I ran Sunagakure as a unnamed and unnumbered Kage until a resolution could be found. I instituted some reform during my time, set in the groundwork for a new ninja system for the next leadership to follow. I'm happy to announce Lady Amira recovered and retired in my absence. The twins seem to have won over the popular crowd and won leadership."

I'd direct my gaze towards them. 

"Am I to assume I am still acting as Jounin Commander and Sannin? Think upon your answer or if you have need of me at the village. I'm fine with working something out." 

I'd turn back to Zuruel.

"What's the fastest way to the top?"
I'd follow whoever created the easiest path within reason for me.

"Of course" We would answer right away "We have no doubt about your loyalty and we had no intention of stripping you of your rank and status" You are a villager of sand, and a trusted friend - we are lucky to have you". We spoke our mind, and our feelings. We needed a strong ally like Shiki on our side. "You know that,if there is ever something that threatens you we would rush to help you - we wont ask where you have been , but know that you can trust us". Regardless of our relationship with shiki - the monsters were slain , for now.

espite that the young Hoshigaki had never himself heard about a clansman that could produce such a technique that he had just presented, the others seemed rather unimpressed. Disappointment struck him as the restriction to be blocked from entire schools of trchniques had him always stress extra with every progress he did. But he excused his friends with motivation that neither one of them realized how hard the limts were put on a Hoshigaki. A tiny sigh escaped him as he turned around to follow his friends back to the surface to watch the fight. He had longed to spectate such a battle for years, the rumored strongest man in the world against his dear friend, which was most likely one of the top ones as well. It would also allow him to measure himself up to the man with the comparison to his and Zuruels own fight. While he walked upwards, he barely listened to theor talk about the kage situation, Emi had already learned that himself, but he was slightly curious on if the alliance he and Shiki constructed would lead anywhere, when kages had been replaced a few times over since their meeting.

"How interesting... Do you mind telling me what exactly you were doing there?" I'd say to Emi after the group had moved a little bit closer towards the surface. I figured if I spent enough time watching the jutsu being performed I'd be able to quickly figure out the jutsu of my own accord. But I wasn't trying to reveal any secret that wasn't mine to uncover. "I've never met a Hoshigaki that could perform the lightning release." 

Emi seemed proud of the accomplishment. But I wasn't exactly sure what the relationship was between Zuruel and Emi. Revealing how impressive of a feat it was would potentially bring unwanted attention. 

[Skulking Shinzu]

10. Zuruel expected some sort of reaction at letting the ‘secret’ slip. However, rather annoyingly, Shiki remained as calm and focused as ever. “Fastest way to the top? Just jump. I saw what you could do during our last spar.” The Kedoin yelled slightly, so his voice would be able to reach the mouth of the human-sized hole leading towards the underground level. While waiting for Shiki to reach the surface, Zuruel’s expression changed to visible gagging at the sound of the twins conversing with Shiki. Where was their rage and bloodlust? While speaking to Shiki, they just seemed… Normal. It was as if Shiki’s presence alone had turned them docile. It was a side of the usually-manic twins he had never seen before. Meanwhile, an analysis of the group’s heartbeats revealed a slight disturbance in Emi’s rhythm which symbolised some sort of disappointment. Was Emi upset? Clueless, the Kedoin pondered why while scanning the empty snowy landscape to pass the time.

s their conversation about Shikis status and the kazekage titel they actually asked him about his ability. Since he had moved on and barely listened to the current talk, he almost missed it. When he saw that Shikis eyes had been directed towards him, he realize what had happened and searched his memory for what he had said.

Oh...

He hesitantly said before had gathered his thoughts.

When i studied the true nature of chakra and therefor also chakra techniques, i discovered that as jutsus base their effect upon the applied chakra, not the release of the base of the casters chakra, one can force effects to happen despite the base nature of the energy. Its just easier to not force it.

The words here probably confusing, so he decided that he would give them a practical example. So after he jumped up on the surface he performed a few handeals and said.

First I do the normal thing and surge some base chakra into the technique, in this case the element used is water. But then as the technique is ready to be used, i force the qualities into what more would fit fire.

Emi then fired of a long beam of fire from his mouth that he was able to direct by moving around his head. The flames were moving slowly but the heqt was the same. When he had been shooting it for a few seconds Emi stopped and turned back to Shiki.

I guess its a bit cheating as its not really the released form of the element, but its as close as I can get, at least for now.

"I see... So something like a Jutsu enhancement?" I'd ask with growing interest. "I can manipulate lightning to simpler damage types like fire, acid, sonic or hellfire. It's a really useful trick." I'd pause for a moment. "It's a shame you don't know the release itself though. I could teach you magnetic Jutsu if that was the case." I'd pause for a moment looking through the gaps in the ceiling where I'd be able to make a couple clean jumps through before I'd be able to find myself to the top of the subterranean environment. That was assuming of course that I had the time and movements to make it there in that few bounds.

11. Zuruel carefully took in Emi’s explanation about manipulating his Chakra element. It appeared that his companion manipulated the element externally, rather than creating the element internally. While the extra step did mean that a simple technique would take more time to form and would likely carry a slightly larger tax on Chakra reserves, it was still an interesting possibility. For one, Zuruel knew that Shiki focused mainly on electrical attacks and thanks to his spar with Ryu, he knew that magnetism was also a part of it. If he could transform his techniques into Wind to counter the electricity, and Fire to counter the magnetism, the spar would be as good as won. Unfortunately, such careful manipulation of elements was beyond the Kedoin’s control. At least for now anyway.

“Not that it matters… I’ll have to watch out for that Hellfire either way.” He thought to himself as Shiki’s figure finally came into view. “About time. I was worried the Remorhaz might go into hibernation if you took any longer.” There was a tinge of impatience in Zuruel’s tone. Without the calming effects of Emi’s ring, Zuruel had clearly reverted to his battle-lusting self. “Well then. Take this opportunity to prepare yourself.” He said as the runes lit up on the chain wrapped around his left arm. At that moment, the Kedoin stabbed his hand into empty air, only for it to be swallowed by a yellow ripple. Moments later, the ripple vanished as Zuruel pulled out a book and kept it held tightly within his grip. This action would give Shiki a precious few seconds to grow familiar with the flat snow coloured landscape.

1. Snow, it was everything she had yet seen in these parts. The duchess was going for a vacation, never thought Autumn could have so much snow, nearly as much as Mo. Luckily enough someone gave her a tip about the current weather, letting her prepare some warm clothing. "Interesting" she heard a loud sound in the distance. Equipped with nothing other than her casual winter grey kimono over a big white haori and a bag containing a dozen kunai and some clothing she made way towards the sound "I hope it's an interesting animal". She happened to come across a decapitated head of some creature, nothing she could recognize. A familiar voice could be heard from another direction. She smiled, it must have been Zuruel. The duchess made her way towards the voice.

"Snow eh?" I looked around at the white environment around me. It seemed to be pretty much a flat piece of land around me. I'd reach down and grab the white shark skin hilt of my Tokihaga and pull the blade out slowly revealing the bluish, electric grey steel. With the blade held out in my right hand pointed outwards, down towards the ground with the flat end of the katana sky facing. "I'm assuming you don't need a count?" I'd call out politely as the Katana would begin to glow a luminescent blue against the white backdrop. I positioned squared up away from Zuruel roughly 20 meters away. 

[Skulking Shinzu]

Zuruel blinked, and with that, ripples of yellow appeared around his head before fading to reveal a pitch-black skull shaped mask with no lower jaw, which left the pale white of his chin exposed. Shiki would no longer be able to see Zuruel’s right eye. However, the azure hue the left eye emitted could still be seen pouring out from the darkness of the eye socket. “I wouldn’t be able to hold myself back even if you did count.” He smirked; an action evident by a slight wrinkling of the chin.

“Go!” Zuruel shouted as the book he held sprung open. Regardless of whether the book was allowed to open or not, a Jutsu would be released in the form of a avalanche of cold wind that would swallow everything within a 90 meter radius of Zuruel, with no regard for his other comrades within in the area. Clumping together, snow would shift into solid ice as the winds within the area began to transform into a violent blizzard, and the ground 90 meters down shifted into everfrost to render earth Jutsus unusable. If caught within this zone of hellish frost, Shiki would take 324 AP of Cold damage, and be forced to make a Fortitude Save against 29, or be transformed into a paralysed block of ice.

Description: Range of this technique is 30 meters + 15 meters per Class Level. Area of effect is 30 meters cube per Class Level. Duration of this technique is 5 hours per Class Level. The area the user designates becomes a frigid and icy environment, immediately dropping the temperature by 3 temperature bands. For example, if the temperature is moderate, it drops to extreme cold. If the new temperature is below the cold band, all water is turned to ice and all earth and stone becomes everfrost to a depth of 15 meters per Class Level. Air within the area freezes, resulting in a heavy snowstorm lasting for the duration of the Jutsu. Snow accumulates only if the ground temperature is below the moderate band. Living creatures caught within the area when the Jutsu is performed instantly turn to ice. If a creature successfully saves (Fortitude), frostfell deals 30 Armour Points of cold damage per Class Level. Creatures entering the area after the Jutsu has been performed do not take this damage; however, all creatures in the area are subject to the normal effects of cold, snow, and ice for the duration of the Jutsu. Objects in the area, including those held by creatures, are instantly covered in a thin layer of frost, making them slippery. Multiple frostfells may be performed in the same area to increase the effects (dropping the temperature by an additional 3 bands). The temperature band cannot be dropped below unearthly cold, no matter how many times frostfell has been performed.

The air exploded into a hurricane of cold biting snow. Quickly forming a wall of protective force around myself i'd hunker down as the blast of cold would wrap itself around my shape transformation. Instead of reacting as my opponent was acting. I'd actually cast my jutsu just when the snow flurry had reached it's pinnacle opacity. Hopefully preventing him from seeing the protective jutsu. Forming my chakra together into a modified wall of force would cause the cold to wrap around me. A bubble of protection preventing the passage of the cold biting winds would envelope me in the center of the cube. Though I was protected, the question now remained. Would Zuruel know? I'd activate my bloodlimit suddenly able to sense all the nearby metal around me. 

"Well this is a new move." I'd say gazing at the predicament I found myself in. It SEEMED to be some sort of ice jutsu. I'd unfurl one of my scrolls from my travel pouches and a brush and go over the paper with a bit of the ink. After just a few moments I'd have finished the seal I was working on from the protection of my force dome. "It's probably best to study this one." I concluded to myself over the howl of the blizzard. Once I had created the seal I'd hold the paper out and begin to absorb the jutsu into the scroll. 

Soshifuin no Jutsu (Element Sealing Technique)

Description: The user quickly inscribes the Element Sealing inscription upon a seal. The user can then use the resultant seal to absorb basic elements. The inscription can be placed on a D or C ranked scroll. A D ranked scroll can contain elemental strength of up to B rank. A C ranked scroll can contain elemental strength of up to S rank. Using the Soshifuin no Jutsu takes up the entire scroll, meaning a puppet, custom technique, weapon, or anything else cannot be stored within the scroll while the Soshifuin is inscribed upon it. This seal must be reapplied every time the scroll is filled and then emptied of elemntal force.
Limit: Must be a C Ranked nin, must be Chuunin or Higher.

Description: 3 meter radius hemisphere centered on the user. The duration of this technique lasts for 5 rounds per class level. User creates an invisible hemisphere of pure force. The dome must be formed with the user at its exact center, but otherwise it functions as a Wall of Force. Once evoked, the user can move freely within the enclosed volume, but should the user ever leave its area, the Jutsu immediately ends.
Limit: Must be a Shape Transformation Specialist. Must know Wall of Force.

Zuruel watched carefully [Observation: 290] as the released maelstrom of snow and frost struck around Shiki rather than directly at him, a fact which was abundantly clear thanks to the thermal imaging lens over his right eye. Some sort of invisible entity seemed to be protecting him. However, the dome-shape that was revealed as the continual barrage of snow and ice swallowed the structure did serve to confirm that it wasn’t Tenkai. Shutting his right eye swiftly to transform his vision from red to blue, the Kedoin managed to glimpse at the fact that a dome of invisible Chakra without a protective layer over the floor was the source of this phenomena. It was just unfortunate that before a formal identification of the Jutsu could take place, the Frostfell had already all but completely swallowed the dome, leaving Shiki trapped not within a dome of Chakra, but also within a dome of hardened ice.

Zuruel could now no longer see Shiki. However, the opposite was also true. “Let’s see how keen the White Wolf’s senses are.” He thought to himself while focusing on Shiki’s last known location. At that moment, the runes on the shadowy gauntlet lit up. Amidst the chaos of the Chakra and snow, it would be near impossible to sense the trace amount of metals the shadowy Aeroglass gauntlet contained. Near impossible – though, not entirely outside the realms of possibility. A powerful warrior with years upon years of battle experience such as Shiki could potentially notice. However, it would take a great deal of focus and observation. Zuruel kept this in mind. It was a fact he knew from the sheer amount of times that Ryutatsu had shockingly avoided an attack from his flank by sensing the metals on his body.

Mentally preparing himself for a close quarter’s fight with no less than an expert in Raiton, Zuruel’s existence itself seemed to vanish as he merged with the snow below him. Whizzing through the thick white substance as if it were earth, he suddenly popped up, hunched over within the confines of the ice dome and directly behind Shiki – with nothing more than a half-meter gap separating them. Regardless of what Shiki was in the middle of doing, it would likely only serve as a distraction and would grant a precious unimpeded moment to act from the foe’s blind spot. Ordinarily, not even someone as agile as Zuruel could act immediately after a teleportation. It would take half a heartbeat to adjust to the new surroundings and sensory data. However, Zuruel wouldn't be the one to strike. Book still held in his unarmoured hand, it was actually the gauntlet that would strike in the form of a wave of soft green light that would swallow everything within a 40m radius of the weapon from the very moment that Zuruel appeared. Assaulted with soul energy at such close range, Shiki would hopefully be left weakened by the thunderous drumming of what would feel like a heart attack if the soul energy hit him [60 AP Soul Damage].

The attack leaves no physical damage, but creates internal damage against the user's life line. People said it feels like having a heart attack while having lost of breathe. Each time learned the user is capable of shooting this technique 5 meters extra. Technique may travel 10 meters per second plus 5 meters per Class Level.
  After 50 meters user must train an extra 10 TP per tech - TP Does not go down by Class Level. Searing Soul does an extra 5 Armour Points of Damage.
  After 100 meters user must train an extra 10 TP per tech - TP Does not go down by Class Level. Searing Soul does an extra 5 Armour Points of Damage.
  After 150 meters user must train an extra 10 TP per tech - TP Does not go down by Class Level. Searing Soul does an extra 5 Armour Points of Damage.

I'd be standing there flipping through the pages of the book before Zuruel would suddenly approaching towards me. "Tsch!" I felt his presence travel through the ground via my blind sense. But as he got closer my I would pick up the noise of him traveling through the ground towards me. I'd lower my body in anticipation as he'd suddenly appear a half meter away from myself. Unable to complete the ritual I would simply drop the scroll and begin to analyze his intentions as he burst through the ground. A soul caster like myself and a quick read of his body language (sense motive 380) would telegraph the searing soul technique known for its greenish glow. I had been 'rag-dolled' enough by Loki to know the dangers associated with getting hit by such a technique. 

I had to act quickly to negate the attack. I also had to be mindful of his ability to shift and grow maws of teeth. Since he was attempting an attack on myself, my venator training would allow me a special combat maneuver that I had practiced over the years. Shut the door to catch a thief. Seizing the moment I could react in an instant and without wasting a movement. I'd swing my gauntlet around firing a senbon launcher towards the Kedoin as he appeared. The 6 senbon would fire in a burst, my arm ready to move and track his movement in case he would try to dodge at this close range. If any of the senbon should land they would only do a measly 4ap of damage, but a line of chakra threading would appear suddenly entangling him from across his body, preventing his weaving movement unless he somehow broke free of my chakra knot. 

Jokes on him. I was a pretty solid sailor.
