Friction Grip
Rank: D Rank
Skill: Supplemental
Effect: Allows the yoyo to 'stick' to surfaces
Special: Handseals
Drawback: Constant drain of an E rank per post whilst in use, doesn't work against shiny / slippery surfaces
Description: By using chakra to stream down the string and excite the bearing, it makes the Yoyo spin faster. During this spinning the amount of friction builds up allowing the yoyo to grip a surface. In addition to this, Friction grip also creates a large amount of heat due to the increased rotation of the yoyo.
Limit:Must be Kyokugoma

Risan returned back home from the Oto Tower. He had successfully signed up for the shinobi roster and the clerk had handed him another quest. Even if he wanted to jump right into getting that done, a good performer knows they had to start with a warm up. Can't just jump right into the main even, right? Well for this morning's warm up, Risan figured he would practice his yo-yo skills. Not only have they been popular while doing his shows - they would be beneficial when going out for real missions.
He already had a few practice dummies set up in the field next to his home but for this trick, he wouldn't be destroying any of them. This trick was simple - allowing the yo-yo to stick to surfaces. Taking out his weapon of choice, Risan limbered up his fingers by tossing the yo-yo out a handful of times at different angles. The key to this was a trick he had already mastered [Unending Sleep] which allowed the yo-yo to spin continuously.
Once he flicked his wrist and performed the skill, the boy watched as the yo-yo spin around just about an inch or two off the ground. Now the harder part was the add a bit more chakra down the string to create an adhesive layer around the spinning yo-yo...all without overheating it and snapping the string or breaking it apart.
As the yo-yo spun, Risan concentrated and sent another layer of chakra down the string that enveloped the yo-yo. Although he immediately noticed that it began spinning too fast. Returning the yo-yo to his hand, he felt the heat that came with the increase in rotation. Good thing he didn't continue otherwise that either would have snapped or burnt his hand upon the return.
Take two.
Risan flicked his wrist as before and sent the weapon straight down into it's [Unending Sleep] position. This attempt had him send a bit less chakra back down the string to help with the heat issue. Once he felt the rotation was in a decent place, he carefully bent his knees slightly so the yo-yo would make contact with the ground. As soon as it touched the dirt, it shot back up in the air and almost caused him to lose his balance to avoid the potential black eye he would have gotten.
Well that was certainly an experience.
Risan retrieved his yo-yo and brushed off the dirt that got on it. Attempt three would go better. Hopefully. He started the trick out just as the other attempts. This time, however, he made sure to keep his concentration as he began the yo-yo's decent to the ground. He could feel the extra layer of chakra he created whip against the ground as it came in contact. He felt that the layer was fluctuating too much so he closed his eyes to help his concentration and get his breathing right.
The yo-yo crept closer to the ground and upon contact, Risan opened his eyes to see the yo-yo steadily spinning on the ground. But did it stick? He gently lifted his wrist to see...
