Place Holder - Village Reputation Tracker
*Inspired and adapted from Wolfy's Karma System for Stone Village
INGA Synopsis -
Welcome to the New Age! Where everything and anything aiming to propel Yuki no Kuni towards a better future is taken into consideration. This announcement is brought to you on behalf of the Yukigakure ANBU Division.
With fresh challenges, leadership goals, and the next generation of shinobi on the rise. Having a healthy relationship between the Yuki civilian population, and its shinobi is one of the topmost priorities. If anything at all has been learned from the Dark Age of at least five or so years ago. It is that the psychological effects of harrowing day-to-day events must not go unheard.
Thus to help remedy some of the trauma and fearmongering, our ANBU Medical Unit has taken the inspired liberty to orchestrate a social networking plan. One that is purely catering to the Yukigakure people and its shinobi!
Introducing the all-new INGA System. A report and evidence-based system that takes the data of generally life-altering events. Then turns it into a collective hub of information; that can be used to display the cause and effects of any known outcome.
What is it For? -
The most straightforward way to understand the INGA System is to remember one simple idea. This is first and foremost an Out Of Character way to better understand the current affairs and emotional state of Snow Village at any given time.
Thus everything presented by the INGA System is not to be taken fully seriously. Instead, those wishing to use it should view the information as more of a vivid show of the effects that roleplay has on the world as it's carried out.
The INGA System is a means of expressing the interactions, and actions that are made within the roleplay world. Then turning it into clear and precise data to assist in recreational use.
What it is NOT for - The Rules
*(Disclaimer: It is critical that any member using The INGA System, understands that is only a guideline and sweetener for T1 Based Roleplay Only. This is not for everyone. Again, this system is HEAVILY reliant on the Honor System and NFRP's already existing roleplay rules. As well as any rules stated by a given technique that affects characters of any type during roleplay.)
1.) This system is complementary & supplementary only. It cannot & should not be abused for cheating purposes or to ignore already existing rules.
2.) One may not under any circumstances use the information provided from the INGA System as a way to Metagame/Godmode their characters through any given situation.
[EX: Just because the INGA of a given district is positive for your character doesn't mean they automatically know that they are liked. Nor will they be automatically cherished by every NPC they meet.]
3.) Normal roleplay rules apply at all times. If a character doesn't know certain information, or doesn't have a means of gaining it. Then they are not permitted to utilize said information to help them through conflicts, or other given scenarios as that breaks site rules. *Nor can they have their characters have automatic NPC Support in situations that it may not necessarily happen in.
(Ex: Not every popular hero, or hated villain has good or bad things happen to them just because.)
4.) Without first utilizing the appropriate techniques or jutsus. A character cannot gain control over other NPCs when roleplaying with them, just because of their INGA Rating.
EXTRA IMPORTANT Rules!!!
5.) One may not use the INGA System to persuade, harm, or intimidate NPCs that exist outside of Yuki no Kuni. This especially extends to NPCs owned by other players, regardless if they are in Yuki or not.
*(The INGA System can be ignored by GMs, BMs, and Staff Members alike if necessary.)
6.) Just to be extra clear. This system cannot be used to force other PC Characters to comply with the wishes and ideas of the user. Again think of this ONLY as a GUIDELINE during T1/Honor System Roleplay.
[Ex: A popular hero from Yukigakure; who is known to be highly honest. Could assume an ANBU officer on station in Yomazu might recognize them, and know of their reputation more so than a lesser-known ninja. Thus may even let them go freely after initially suspecting the user in a situation of robbery and theft.]
How to Apply it? -
Use the numbers and details provided by The INGA System as a manner of tracking progress, planning encounters, and collecting OOC Lore. Events, Missions, and Interactions with NPCs are tailored to flow with the INGA System accordingly.
Each event or mission will have a listing of how much potential INGA could be gained or lost altogether. There will also be markers to explain the possible outcomes that could happen if a given rating gets too low or too high.
If a player wishes to use the system to keep track of village plot, they are by all means able to do so. One can also plan accordingly to help further the plot in whichever way they please as long as they don't ignore their character's alignment and follow site rules while doing so.
Types of INGA -
*Good - These types of ratings will keep track of the good deeds, and impressions made by each given character. And display how the villagers will possibly react to them, or respond to situations involving them. This can also display how safe or happy certain sections of the village are, compared to others.
*Neutral - These ratings will be used to show how even or fair certain NPCs feel. And or show how little they know of any given Player Character. These will also be used to show if an area is either becoming better or in danger of becoming worse.
*Bad - Certain actions, might make the normal villagers happy, but NPCs with bad intentions angry. Or perhaps a misunderstanding or framing is present and because of this, the general impression is bad. Because of this, these ratings will be used to show a loss of progress, or the level of hostility a character could potentially face. They can also be used to show the general level of danger a given area has, or how uncooperative the people of that area are to their leader.
(Note: Players of Evil Aligned characters may want to use these ratings to keep track of their enemies, while using the Good Karma to keep favor with certain NPCs they want on their side.
Good Aligned characters can use them to keep track of areas in need of help, or possibly gain the ability to weed out NPCs with ill-intentions and will get in the way of their heroism.
And finally, Neutral Aligned characters may find themselves using the system as simply a means of knowing where and who they are welcome around. As opposed to where they are not.)
Explaining the Sectors
Because of how complex and flexible certain conflicts or interactions can be. The ratings given can flip and/or change drastically fast or extremely slowly. Taking every little rating as 100% fact is doomed for failure. It's best to keep an understanding of these ratings as more of a vague hint more than anything else.
The cause and effects of any given outcome to a situation can have small or big effects on karma ratings. So it's never always a simple incline or decline per character. And because of this the karma meters for each type of section of Yuki no Kuni mean different things to help reflect that.
Region -
Karma displayed over select regions of Yuki no Kuni is done in a simplistic manner. Each area has a simple 0 to 2 ratio, to show what state it's in. Use this as a gauge of how much order and peace a given area has, as opposed to another.
*(Positive 2= Peaceful
Positive 1= Orderly
0 = Fair
Negative -1 = Disarray/Endangered
Negative 2= Chaotic/Destroyed
[Ex: Yomazu: 1 , Yukigakure has a 0, and the Yuki Mountains for some reason has a -1. It would be safe to consider that something unruly is going on in the Mountains of Yuki no Kuni, and is typically unsafe for civilians.]
Villages & Cities -
Populated and governed areas are given ratings similar to the Regional Karma. The overall karma either goes up or down, depending on the rating of each District/Section of a city, or village. (Smaller residential areas such as towns are just given overall ratings similar to the regions.)
*District INGA - Think of each rated district as a fraction of the overall rating. So depending on what state the district is in, one can assume that is what is affecting the village's overall rating in some way. Also, keep in mind that a good rating for an individual ninja doesn't mean that the district isn't in bad shape.
Individual INGA -
The most complex and multilayered ratings are always going to be given to each individual person that is marked in the charts. This is done to allow a player to truly deep dive and understand how their character is viewed, by certain people, districts, villages or cities, and so on. That way they can take action and interact with the general population in any way that works with said characters.
An Individual's INGA can be a great way to back up the alignment that character has, or show the contrast in what a character is trying to do, versus what they have actually accomplished. Or can be used as a progress maker for Villians who need to plan their next move in the effort to get what they desire, despite others around them.
[Ex: A hero who thinks they are protecting a group of people, but then later learns that they were doing more harm than good. Which would have been displayed as Bad Karma for that Good Karma Hero.]
Explaining the INGA Tiers -
Despite the vagueness of INGA Ratings, everything is organized in a clear and concise manner. The ratings and their meanings are set up in a similar manner to how SP for Skills is listed. And so it is safe to view the information in a similar manner. Except the numbers can either be in the Negative or Positive integer depending on what it is supposed to mean.
