Description: A very swift runner from Suna has come to the KazeKage requesting that his best ninja match him in a game of "Catch Me If You Can". He is a Taijutsu Master who has honed his skills over a great while, and is in need of some assistance in stacking his abilities up against the worthy of the Sand Headband. He possesses physical prowess in combat as well, so it will not be an easy task to stop him from engaging in his antics.
Objective: Catch the runner from Suna and earn bragging rights!
Requirements: 2 Genin Minimum. (3 Genin, 1 Chuunin Accompanying Recommended.)
Reward: 1,200 Ryo.

Yukino sat, alone, at the predetermined meeting point for Squad 3; the roof of her own small little two-story home and business, Hyuuga Flower Shop, in the Village of Sand. She was waiting for her teammates Liam and Ottori, and the Sand message runner who requested this little game. She wasnt sure what he or she would want. A race? A fight? Both? There was definitely going to be alot of running around no matter what, she could tell from the name of the mission.
"Catch Me If You Can, hm?" She muttered, looking at the scroll she clutched. "Someone has a bit of an ego...Still, it's pretty bad luck for him or her. Our Squad 3 is probably the best team for this kind of thing. All Taijutsu Specialists, my Ninjutsu and Byakugan, Ottori's Genjutsu and her Tenchi's nose and ears, Liam's speed and swords...This should be fairly easy...Still, If he or she is this confident, there is probably something we haven't been told..."

From the middle of the street did a lone figure reside, multiple spectators gathered in circle about him as he began to stretch his muscles. A simple runner's attire was worn, a runner's headband across his forehead as his lanky frame pushed itself from side to side to test his endurance and relaxation all in the same interval. Many people were asking questions, and the most that he could do was smile from his position at their many admirations. Indeed, this event would be one of grandeur.

Kagato stood upright thereafter, stretching his arms into the air before he would comment. "Yeah, that's right..I'm planning on being the top runner in Suna! I even have some fun planned for a few guests of mine. With Suna as the playground, they're going to be forced to chase me throughout the streets and various obstacles while using their skills to apprehend. But I won't make it easy, that's for sure!" he exclaimed. The pride in his voice was almost tangible as he flexed; tests like these were what made his training all worth it, enduring the harshness of any condition and plowing through every obstacle that was given to him. His brunette locks of hair flew about as he dashed from point to point in the middle of the street...and even at half speed, many were impressed. Finally cracking his knuckles, he would await these challengers with patience.

"Yeah...let's get this show on the road!"

Liam had walked to Yukino and looked up to see her on the roof of the building. "H-Hello Y-Yukino-san. He then joined her at the roof top, kinda nervous about the mission. This was his chance to prove himself useful and he didn't want to make himself look like an idiot. The fact that he was the only male of the team was also a factor for making him nervous.

Was she late? Of course she was! The duo were never on time...or even fashionable late. If they were, you know the world would be coming to an end very soon.

A groan escaped the young girl's lips, as she scratched the back of her head. Her auburn hair was in tangles from the night's sleep, her eyes droopy. Her hybrid friend was unusually peppy this morning, hopping at her feet. Of course, when Tenchi was like this Ottori was quite the opposite: Groggy.

She approached the house that the two members were sitting upon. She tilted her head up and yelled, "Hey! Get yer asses down here!" She mumbled angrily, before turning around and observing the man that they were going against.

"Ottori-Chan, you're late!" Yukino called out as she hopped down to the street below, coat and ponytail hair flaring up with the rush of air before she landed on the sandy ground with her hands and right knee. She got up slowly, flashed Ottori a grin, and scratched her Tenchi behind the ears. This behavior was completely uncharacteristic of her normally, but like always when on a mission, the thrill of earning her life again pushed back all timidity and fear. This was what she lived for; serving her home as best she could.

"Come on Liam, lets go!" She called back up as Ottori was already leaving them behind now. It was time to hit the main street, where their cocky client was waiting. The blood pumped through her veins faster, causing her adrenaline to soar along with the flow of her chakra. So much so that her Byakugan activated of its own accord. This would be fun. The greatest Taijutsu sqaud in Suna vs a Taijutsu Master message runner. Oh yes, this would be fun indeed.

Drawback: Byakugan user has a 360 degree field of vision, with the exception of a small blind spot behind the user's first thoracic vertebrae (as stated in the manga). Lacks the power of Analysis. This is demonstrated in an anime filler arc by Ranmaru, who created false chakra circulatory systems through the use of a dôjutsu (possibly a bloodline limit), causing the Byakugan to see inanimate objects as people and the objects themselves at the same time. However, it is not considered canon in a filler episode that a Byakugan user is unable to see the workings of such an "illusion".
Description: Can see the minuscule chakra pressure points. With the use of certain hand seals, it also has telescopic, X-ray, and thermal vision. The Byakugan is the key to Konohagakure's strongest Taijutsu, the Jûken, as it allows the user to see the chakra circulatory system of an opponent. Each level of its insight can therefore be mystified by proper means. When first learned they are capable of seeing up to fifty yards in a 360 Degree radius except for that blind spot. Each time learned this amount of distance is increased by ten yards. When the user reaches up to a distance of One hundred yards the amount of training is increased to that of "B" Rank Level Training. The amount of distance is still increased by ten. When the user reaches up to a distance of Four Hundred Yards the user is capable of seeing even further but with an amount of A Rank Training.

Ottori growled softly when Yuki stated the obvious. "Yes, yes... I am sorry," she said softly, trying to calm herself down. "That right there..." she stated, pointing towards Tenchi, "kept me up all night, howling his head off..." A smirk seem to spread across Tenchi's muzzle. That was the main reason the dog hybrid was awefully cheerful. He grunted happily though, when Yuki started scratching him behind the ear. Ottori rolled her golden eyes as she watched this. "Yuki-chan, please stop that. He doesn't need to be spoiled," she said, smiling slightly. A gently laugh escaped her lips while she scratched the back of her head.

After a moment, Ottori tilted her head up again to look at Liam. She waved at him with a broad smile. before her attention returned to Yuki. By now, the girl had activated her Byakugan. "Mewr..." Ottori mumbled, turning towards the runner again. "You just had to choose this mission..." She sighed, rubbing her right arm. "I'm gonna FAIL."

Yukino nodded, accepting Ottori's frustration. "Well, all we can do now is wait." She turned to the runner. "So, what exactly is your little game? The rules and time frame would be helpful. And when do we start?"

He turned around just in time to view a girl with pupil-less eyes, the veins upon either side rather...grotesque, if you had to ask him. He almost grimaced as he fought to keep lunch down, closing one eye before he attempted to view her out of peripheral vision. "There won't be a game if I have to look you directly in the face.." he grimaced. A few cracked knuckles later, he got past the nausea and spoke. Many of the spectators fell quiet as he reached over to the side and pulled forth a ribbon, holding it afront their faces. "This is the crimson veil. It's a keepsake given to me by my mother, and it is going to be your object of desire this day. The rules are simple: We're going to play Cat and Mouse. I'm going to run, and you're going to try everything in your power to either keep up, hinder, or catch me to the point where I can't continue.

Oh, and by the way...no ninja weapons. I'm a peaceful guy..not really one to get stabbed or anything. I'll let you use any weapon that does not cut or harm anyone. Besides, there will also be commoners roaming the streets as usual. You have five minutes (30 posts altogether) to catch me. If you can't, then you lose and the game ends. If you manage to catch me, then I'll admit defeat and name your team the greatest shinobi on feet." he gave. A smirk wide across his features, he turned toward the distance and pointed to the outskirts of the village. "The village will not be left, but any terrain therein is up for grabs at my disposal. We may engage in combat, but only hand to hand. I won't attack you all too roughly..I wouldn't want to cause any accidental injuries." he nodded seriously. That was no bragging gesture; he may have been prideful, but harming someone in a game wasn't the way to win. He would beat them fair and square.

"Whenever you all are ready, I want you to line up in a straight line over there." he pointed eastward. A marker had been set for where they would begin. "Good luck to you. Let's see if you can use your heads and your physical abilities to overcome these odds." he said.

Liam waved at Ottori and heard her comment. "I-I doubt your th-the one who will f-fail...Y-Your alot better th-than I am." he said, reassuring Ottori and speaking truthfully. Being someone with a very hindered ninjutsu and genjutsu ability made doubting himself natural He had stretched a bit and . He followed the two and the runner.

Yukino sighed, forcing down her chackra to managable levels and deactivating the Byakugan. It was the first time she hadn't been able control it. Grounds for worry, but later. She listened carefully to the runner's description of the game. Simple enough objective; get the ribbon. Fair enough rules too. And plenty of time. She intinctively gripped the stoppers on her twin flask-gourds.

"Well, I can't speack for the others, but I'm set. When you want to start; let the games begin."

OOC: Okay, once atsu posts, whoever posts next is 2nd post in the cycle, then 3rd and 4th. Atsu being post 1. We'll just continue in that order. Not saying we have to do it like that, but I just think that would be a bit easier to manage.

He laughed slightly, moving toward his own marker as he spoke. "I hope so." he noted. As if to give her a false sense of security, he began to stretch his legs slightly with a facade of discomfort across his features. Thereafter he would linger at his own marker and glance around, his hands on his hips as he surveyed the area and the crowd that had gathered to watch. A smile rose upon his face as thrusted a few hands forward, the speed of his punches rather incredible..his appendages moved like blurs across the empty space before him, before he'd allow them to settle at his sides in anticipation...Kagato was more than ready.

The spectators were talking amongst each other as was the norm, awaiting the team to line up at the marker so that they could signal that they were all ready. Kagato would merely stand upright and fold his arms across his abdomen, rather happy that someone had taken this challenge. It would prove beneficial to both parties at the end of the day...if, that is, the team could keep up with the wiles of a trickster long trained in the art of speed and evasive maneuvers.

Yuki stepped to her mark. She wouldn't lose. She would make certain of that. She waited for the others to step up, so that the game could finally begin...

Liam patted Ottori gently on the shoulder to reassure her. "I-I kn-know you'll d-do great." he said, smiling a bit. His heart was beating really fast for an unknown reason. He didn't know if it was from the anxiety of the mission, or if it was for another reason. He then took off the swords and his coat so that he could have less weight on him. He then put them in a safe place where it was assured he'd be able to get them back. He walked to his spot on the marker and stretched a bit before preparing himself for running.

Ottori shot a smile towards Liam. "I'm short though," she said, laughing and shaking her legs a bit. Looking towards Tenchi, the young girl sighed. "You have to stay here." Tenchi whimpered loudly as he eyes widened to show a pitiful look. "NO.'' The dog bowed his head deeply, whimpering still as walked away with his tail between his legs. Ottori rolled her golden eyes before walking towards the mark.

The girl stood there at the line, looking over at her teamates and mumbled softly. She didn't bother stretching, because the girl knew she had no chance in catching the boy. "Hm..?" Something dark formed in the corner of her eye. She looked over and saw the hybrid standing there, hassling loudly and wagging his fluff for a tail. Ottori growled, "Fine, get into trouble..."

Kagato looked at his opponents with his trained eyes. Anticipating the reaction anticipating the thrill of the race. They would have to stop him which shall be no mean feat. Kagato watched for a moment as his opponents took there marks. He waited it seemed to be an eternity to him. He waited and waited and waited. Then finally the race was started. He held the crimson veil up while he ran. He moved swiftly in and out of the street corners jumping around similar to that of a monkey. He was only in a slight jog at a moment. He was fast, faster than most.

ic: Damn, he was fast! That speed was entirely natural, not a Shunshin. Yukino had to wonder just how sh would be able to keep up as she chased him throgh the streets at top speed, constantly losing ground. She was already getting tired, and had had several near-falls. Thrice she was forced to shunshin [3/3] so as not to plummet to a doom she was too exhausted to rescue herself from. Sadly, that was one too many, for as they ran across the top of the village gate, she fell off. She was sure that since she was falling to soft sand that she would survive, though it would hurt badly. What she didn't anticipate was that the angle of her decent brought her directly over one of the many pikes lining the gate, this one not yet bearing a head. The sharp, barbed point peirced through her coat, her flesh, her heart, and out the other end, coated with the crimson on life's blood. Her vision went black, and her eyes slowly closed as she exhaled, never to open again.

"YUKINO!" Liam yelled as he saw the horror of her death. He was filled with sorrow and guilt. He felt he had been bad luck and that it was he who caused her death. He went down and tried to help, but by the time he got there, other ninja had already came. She...She can't be gone....why?!?!? he thought as he was trying not to cry, but to no yeild. People had a habit of dying when he was around. This had confirmed it..
