He ceased his attempted massacre on these pirates when a massive explosion erupted in the distance. Before being able to question what it was exactly, the flesh of his right side was penetrated by the metallic spheres. Scarlet oozed from the wound and he dropped onto his hands and knees, quickly releasing the handle of his weapon and pressing his free hand against the laceration. But before he could be finished right there and then, he removed his hand from his wound and took the kusari-gama into his grasp once again. The wound wasn't lethal, but it would undoubtedly slow him down.
While the crossbows would prove to be a problem, Itaru would obviously be an open target to them. He would need to find a way to hide himself, and as he carefully watched out for oncoming projectiles, he began his hand signs. With his gifted eyes, he would not need to worry about this technique causing any sort of hindrance to his sights. Quickly, he pressed his palms against the ground and he was swallowed up by a large mass of smoke. It advanced around the area, and Itaru's silver eyes sliced directly through it, now able to see his targets without any problems at all.
While the enemy would be unable to see clearly, Itaru would attempt to slaughter as many targets as he could before the smoke cleared itself. There was still this lingering sense of fatague in Itaru, that he could not seem to free himself from. It could be anything more than a GenJutsu, Itaru should not be feeling this drained of his energy. There was no point in thinking it over, and he let his weapon fall onto the wooden docks as he created the seal, "Kai," his vocals whispered faintly, and all effects seemed to disappear within an instant.
He quickly gathered his weapon once again and rushed through the smoke he had created. Once coming across an enemy, he would take advantage of their inability to see him clearly, and slide his weapon across their figures, digging the tip of his bladed weapon in deeply before giving an upward slash. He wasn't sure just how many he would take out by doing this, but for now this would be his best option. His fresh would was beginning to irritate him, but he would have to push it away from his mind and ignore it for now.

Endate no Jutsu (Smoke Shield)
Rank: C
Skill: Ninjutsu
Effect: Sight hindering smoke
Special: None
Drawback: None
Description: Gathering a large amount of Chakra into his hands, the user slams his hands into the ground, mimicking the many Doton techniques that require the connection with the earth, but instead of a wall of earth coming up to protect the shinobi, smoke hisses out of the Chakra that has been gathered to the hands of the user and creates a large field of smoke in the surrounding area. This smoke is by no means magical, nor does it hinder breathing in anyway. It is purely a sight hindrance. The amount of smoke depends on how much Chakra the user has gathered, and considering the fact that the smoke is nothing more than a sight hindrance, the smoke produced can possibly exceed the size of a small town, should the user have that much Chakra. The normal size of this shield, however, is approximately a circle with a radius of 20 feet. The smoke generally dissipates in five posts, this time is unaffected by how skillful the user is.
Limit: Only the Tenjigoku no Metsuki can teach.
