Test 1: Katachi, Kanaye (Failed)

Welcome to the First Chuunin Exams Test

Be careful for you may die within the Event of the Chuunin Exams. Please take note that if a team member fails, then that means the whole team fails. A team member being inactive will not make you fail the exams.

The In Active In Character, or IIC is One and a half Days. This means that you have one day to post, or else you will be skipped. Stay active or you may in fact die. A Chuunin Examiner will be in charge of the situation that you are in. They will lead you through the exam to see if you are worthy in going into the Next Exams.

In this Exams you are here to Test your capability of the mind, body, and soul. You must go through the Exams without using any chakra what so ever. You must use your wits, your knowledge, and the things that are all around you such as your weapons, and the environment. Sometimes a ninja must prove themselves by pushing forward using their mind instead of their brawn.

Please follow along with the Chuunin Examiners for they will lead you through the situation.

The Team Within This Thread is...

Test Description

You are all found within a Large Hallway. Within the hallway is a plaided flooring in the color of a checker board. The Colors are Red and Black with gold lacing on the sides of each square. If one was to tap on the floor they would find out that it was simple enough with no specific types of hidden creations within the floor. The Walls are painted with a white like flower wallpaper that goes from one end of the Large Hallway to the opposite end where there is a normal size mahogany Door. On the left, and right hand side of the Large Hallway are five doors on each side. Each door is normal size, seeming to be oak wood, stained in a nice stained color. The door knobs are within the colors of dark gold. Each door has their own design to them that may or may not be different to them. (One would have to examine to see.) Each Door are separated within a distance of fifteen feet, while the last Door is through at the opposite end. Between each door, every three feet is a small candle light stick placed along the walls. The Ceiling is hard, and can not be open as an odd design is created on the ceiling.

The objective is to find a way out of this hallway and find a hidden scroll within one of the rooms. The Scroll will signify that the team are capable of going to the next test.

No chakra was to be used in this exam so Kanaye could not preform any of his jutsu that could possiably help hKatachi and him out. He began tapping his fot allowing on the echo of the sound to maybe help determin exacly how big this hallway was. In between every door an orange flame danced throught dark lighting the room only dim. After a while he finally stopped tapping, and just stood strong and tall.

Kanaye stood staring down the hallway as he breathed slowly. In his mind her was trying to proccess some sort of startegy, but he found that to be quite hard. He knew this was a timed event,and yet he stalled scared of failure. All they had to was locate and retrive a scroll from this hallway no problem right, wrong. " The only way I can think of getting this done fast is if you start on the left side looking through the doors and I start on the righ side." Kanaye said still trying to find a way to approach this situation well. He stepped foward a couple of steps moving closer to his doors on the right getting ready to start looking inside, but he would not until he got the okay from his partener unless he had a better idea. It was rather difficult to see Kanaye in this large hallway due to his clotheing. He was wearing navy blue baggy jeans, and a black t-shirt with his vanished clans symbol on the back of it in blue, and on his hip resthed his sheethed broadsword juust waiting for action. He knew for a fact the it could come in loads of help during this test. He looked over at Katachi and simply asked, " Are you ready?" Kanaye was standing just about five feet away from the first door on the right side. He remembered what he was reading in the library one day that traps could be placed under the floor. "Shit.." HE muttered to himself as he paused to look around. " Yo Katachi do you think you can roll something of some sort across the floor to see if it triggers any traps?"

And so; the first test would begin..

The first test had come as a surprise for the Uchiha. He hadn’t expected the first test to be something like this. No chakra was to be used within this test, meaning all techniques held within the Uchiha’s arsenal would be useless, although he held many weapons, he wasn’t sure if they would be of any help within this test. He would begin to observe the hallway, counting the many doors that he could see within his vision, although the hallway would be a bit dim. Candles had been set a distance away from each door, providing a little light for the two shinobi to see in. The most obvious approach to finding the scroll would be to search every last room thoroughly, but for it to be a test, the test had to be rigged. In his mind, the Uchiha had though of the trickery that could be placed throughout this test. Traps upon the floor, maybe traps hidden by candles; or perhaps there wasn’t any traps at all and maybe on could just proceed forth to the last door. All these rushed through the Uchiha’s mind as he continued to observe the hallway, thinking anything that could be used to help pass this test.

Darkened optics would begin to scan the floor, for the first time throughout being in this hallway, the Uchiha would notice the different color floor tiles, each laced with gold. Red, black- gold. His eyes would begin to stray from the floor tiles, crossing over the surface area of the ceiling, noticing the special design placed upon it. There would be no need to travel upward and so, his eyes would then transfer their vision to the doors. Regular oak, nothing too drastic, although they seemed a little too plain. His eyes would dart across the walls of the hallway, observing the flower designs and watching the candles intently for some reason. Anything within this hallway could be a trap and hearing Kanaye’s suggestion, the Uchiha would nod before speaking forth, for he hadn’t planned on getting injured and was sure Kanaye hadn’t either.

“Be careful opening the doors; for they could hold traps as well.”

Something had bothered the Uchiha since he first noticed it and the question would stick with him for minutes to come, maybe longer. Why were the floor tiles laced with gold? What was the purpose of that? As well, each door held a different design, or from what the Uchiha could see, they were different, only the doors within his vision, of course. The Uchiha would pull a scroll from his back. It wasn’t excruciatingly long, but it would serve to get the job done. With a quick flick of his wrist, the scroll would be unraveled along the floor, its length reaching about seven feet in front of the two shinobi, coming to a stop at the second set of doors, or around that area. (Information of the doors location from where we are was never given). The Uchiha would watch as the paper rolled across the floor, waiting to see if any traps would be sprung…

OOC: Bout’ 15 Feet between you and the first pair of doors on the left and right. 15 Feet between each pair of doors after. For realism, the scroll rolls to only the first set of doors.

The scroll would gently roll across the floor, unwinding on the far left side of the hall before bumping gently into the wall. Lingering slightly past the first set of doors, all would seem quite, and silent. The flickering of candles which lined the hall would remain fast, not wavering in the least bit. It seems that nothing had happened.

Kanaye stood exactly in front of the first door on the right hand side of the hall. " Right." He said as he heard Katachi's warning about the doors. He waited for his partner to see if any trap would spring.... To Kanaye's reliefe nothing happened. His heart was pounding so hard just waiting for something to happen, and now he knows it's safe, for now. Tiny sweat beads began to drip from his hair, and roll down his forehead as his nervouse emotions began to consume him, and the heat from the flame hit him in the face.

" So I guess we get start huh?" Kanaye said outloud as he turned his body around facing the door in front of him. His right hand slowly began to near the brass door knob. As the seconds went by the felt like hours as his heart once more was thrubbing in his chest and everytime he swallowed it turned into a gulp. His fingers gently curled around the knob then he tightened his grip. Please let their be no trap behind this door. He muttered to himself as he slowly turned the knob downward. He heard a silent "click" break the silence in the hall way, all he had to do was push it open. He paused for a couple of seconds just trying to get himself togather too calm himself down. Finally feeling well enough he pushed against the door and watched as he slowly creaked open....

Nothing...

To his surprise and relief, his scroll had triggered no traps along the floor. This had been a good sign, for that meant the two shinobi could proceed forth without worrying about traps placed upon the floor; although, they had only checked the left side and the right side of the hallway still held it mysteries. A simple conclusion would be made from the Uchiha, it being that if the traps weren’t layed about throughout the floor, then they must be placed somewhere else, somewhere that was obvious to the naked eye, somewhere like the candles and the doors. He would turn over to Kanaye to remind him once more, but he had already attempted to open his door. Reaching for his pouch, a kunai would be pulled from it, the cold metal touching surface with his palm. A quick flick of his wrist was all that was needed as the Kunai was tossed at the door. Optics would be perched among the door, waiting for the kunai to impact, waiting for a trap to be sprung…. If there was one. (Room 1).

He would begin to feel impatient, his muscles edging to reach forward and grab the golden door knob. He would, however, keep his composure and hold himself back, for getting eliminated from the exams this early would be embarrassing. He hadn’t really cared about what others thought, but it was one less hassle for him to deal with. And besides, if he got eliminated already, his goals would be even farther to reach, for he would be set back, in progress and time. No chakra was to be used within this test, but how would anyone know his Sharingan was active, for there wasn’t really anyone around. Even if there was cameras, there would be no way for them to capture the eye color of his blood-limit and so, he would be safe. He would hesitate on activating them for now, but if times called, hesitation would not stop him, for a test meant nothing compared to his life.

And so the trials would begin. The two shinobi having decided to split ways and search different rooms, the one known as Kayane would find himself blessed with bountiful luck. The door, clicking open without any trouble, would swing itself ajar, revealing the room before him:

Upon entering the next room, one would notice it seems a bit… unstable. The floor is constructed of wood paneling, pieces of it with holes, and other pieces that creak quite loudly when stepped upon. It feels as if it’s about to collapse any moment, and who knows? It just might. At the very center of the square room, which is roughly 20x20, rests a large trunk, big enough to fit a human body comfortably inside. The flooring around it though is obviously very brittle, as it’s cracking nearest to the placement of the trunk. However, the drawstring to the only light in the room hangs above it. Once pulled, or if one has other means of seeing, two doors can be seen side by side against the opposite wall of entry.

The room seems pitch black except for what little light floods into the hall, providing perhaps 5 feet of visibility within the room.


Katachi’s efforts would seem to come easily as well. For the kunai, having been thrown against the door, would merely fall to the ground as the clanging of metal against metal would resound. It seems that nothing had happened. His hand, reaching for the knob, would hear a gentle click, as it began to turn. The door would begin to open slowly, revealing a room described as such:

A very simple, square room. It measures roughly 15’ x 15‘, the walls painted white. Of course, such details aren’t completely obvious without a light source. There is a switch to the right of the door, which can be assumed to turn on a light of sorts. A collection of six crates, varying in size, is located at the back of the room, stacked up against the wall.

Of course, it is very dim, and naught can be seen lest a source of light be brought into the room. The light radiated from the hall barely provides 1 feet of visibility into the room, all that can be seen are the plan colored floors.

Kanaye smiled to himself in reliefe as no traps would spring, and possiable end the exams early for him. He squinted his eye's trying to get a good picture of the room, but i was just to dark with only a tad bit of faint light manageing to enter the room. " All good on this side!" Kanaye shouted to Katachi hoping to hear the same news from him. Kanaye was very eager to start his search of the first room, but of course he was not gonna be to carelss on his everystep.

He left hand crept down to his kunai pouch and snapped it open revailing a total of four kunai and other weapons of sorts just resting. His fingers curled around one of the kunai as he pulled it out of the pouch. As he did so his right hand would also move down his side grasping the handle of his sword getting ready to quickly unseath it in case of danger. "Time to begin my decent in the first room." He muttered as he stop bringing the kunai up to about chest level. He brought his arm back then gracefully flicked his wrist at amazing lightning speed downward in the room where he would step first making sure no trap was awaiting him. He sighed as he knew he had a a long adventure for him.

OOC: IIC time is up for Katachi.

The kunai tossed by Kanaye would smash against the floor, causing the wood to cave in. There where the square tile of wood had formerly, been a black hole lay. There seems to be an odd mechanism at the bottom of it. Small clicking soudns may be heard, as the mechanism begins to twirl.

Its stand, reaching 5 inches high, contains a barrel at the end, in which rapid rotating occurs. A spinning rapidly ejects 8 kunai towards the door towards the young shinobi who stands in the way.

" What the hell is that noise?" Kanaye said as just at the right momment he saw a barrel eject 8 speeding kunai his way. "Fuck not good" He said as he quickly jumped to the right side of the door, and quickly drew his broad sword and swung directly down as the kunai emerged flying out of the door. Sparks flew high in the air as his sword came in direct contect with two kunai kncoking them helplessly to the ground. The other six kunai could be found sticking in the wall near Katachi.

"Sorry bout that" Kanaye annouced his apologey to his partner. His chest was pounding as he just avoided death. He quickly darted his left hand foward grabing one of the kunai he knocked down to the floor. He stood up then put his sword back in its holder as he tossed the kunai to his right hand. He easly cought the kunai then ran right in front of the door then flicked his wrist sending the kunai flying at the barrel. As soon as the kunai left his hand he quickly dropped to his knees grabbing the second kunai he knocked to the ground then threw it on anothier piece of the floor, hoping no more surprises would meet him...

His eyes would watch cautiously as he kunai would impound against the door, the sound of metal colliding with metal piercing through his ears. His hand would begin to turn the knob, the golden entity rotating with only the slightest bit of force. The assumingly metal door would slowly creek open, revealing a small 15’ by 15’, although this information would be unknown t the Uchiha for now. He room would be dark, barely providing the least bit of light to creek into the room from the hallway, only a mere foot of light flowing through the door, providing light, barely. The light from the hallway would allow the Uchiha to see a short ways into the room, enough to find a switch next to the door. In his mind, the thought of it being a trap would run through his mind, for that would be the ideal place to place a trap switch, for in a dark room, what is the first thing that you look for? A light source.

A gamble indeed…

As his hand reached for the small entity, he would hear the clanging of kunai hitting the wall next to him, turning around to see that they came from the room Kanaye had entered. A smile would begin to cross his face, for the kunai had proved that this test wouldn’t be boring and simple and that it held some sort of danger within. Knowing this now, the Uchiha would pull retrieve his kunai from the floor, his hand recognizing the cold metal that it had held once before. It would be placed in his hand firmly as he approached the room once more. With a flick of his wrist, the switch would be flipped. However, the Uchiha wouldn’t wait for a response, instead he would make a leap back out of the door, landing a couple of feet away, closer to Kanaye’s door than he had been the whole test (Room 1). The Kunai would be held within a defensive position as the Uchiha’s optics peered forth, waiting for something to happen. They would occasionally wander around the hallway, spotting any other traps that could have been triggered…

OOC: np. Kanaye, next time state what you do and I determine the outcome.

The kunai which the young leaf nin, Kanaye had thrown would land against the tile one square to the right of the previous. Thudding into the ground with a loud resounding echo of solidarity, the square would remain there and sturdy. The chest at the center seems to have no reactions and is quite motionless as is the rest of the room.

The switch that Katachi had quickly flipped and leaped back in one motion, would click gently. nothing would seem to happen as all remained the same. For a moment, a pause would occur. Deep metallic grinding can be heard as suddenly the floor quivers inside that room alone, and the lights flicker on for Katachi. The entire flooring seems to have vanished as a pit of spikes lie at the bottom. Crates at the opposite side of the room can be seen resting upon what little floor is left.

Kanaye sighed as he saw the floor stay sturdy. He was determind to reach the chest and make it out of this room alive. How sad would it be to fail, and die in the first room. " For all I know the scroll could be in this very chest.. He said as he began to take four steps backwards. After doing so he placed his left hand behind his back with his right hand outstrechted in front of hm. So many thoughts where going on through his mind as he got into his iron fist stance. He knew what he was about to do would be increadibly stupid, but he was drivin by determination.
Even though his left hand was behind his back the tips of his left hand fingers barely touched the handle of his sowrd. "Well here goes nothing." He said as his eyes were focused on the chest as he began to dart foward. After he had picked up enough speed he jumped in the air with his right foot streched out. "Dainamikku-Entori!" He shouted

He sored through the air with amazing speed. However he was loseing height, but that didn't seem to bother him as his left foot landed on the top of the chest, and he brought his right leg down ontop of it to. As he landed on the chest he drew out his boradsword and stabbed it right through the chest. Not wasting anytime trying to do all this in a blink of an eye He swung his sword upward as he jumped over to the sturdy tile where his kunai rested. As he jumped he tossed the chest off of his sword out of the door bringing it to the hall way...

Grinding???

The sound of grinding would travel to the Uchiha’s ears as mere seconds passed from his flicking the light switch. His Kunai held in hand, it would quickly be twirled upon his finger before coming to a halt within the boy’s pouch. He would proceed forth, his figure slowly passing by each of the kunai that had landed upon the walls next to him, grabbing each one, six in all, before he proceeded toward the room.. A shocking sigh would befall as the Uchiha peered into the room, a shocking sight indeed. It would seem that with the cost of light, the floor would disappear, allowing a pit of spikes to show their faces to the outside world once more, although they were still prisoned inside this hallway, even the room. From the doorway, the Uchiha would notice a stack of crates resting atop what little floor remained….On the other side of the room.

Observing the small room, his vision now an asset due to the lighting, the Uchiha would guess the length of the room. By his estimations, the width of the room would be the same as the length, a box. There had to be some way to make it across the room to the crates, for the scroll that they needed may have rested within he containers. If the test had required chakra, the Uchiha would be able to simply walk upon the walls of the room until he reached the other side, safely reaching the crates without any sign of danger. In his mind, the Uchiha knew that another trap had laid about throughout the room, for the spikes would be easily overcome. Brainstorming , he would begin, although he would attempt something before he began thinking. Drawing the six kunai that he had collected from the walls outside of the room, the Uchiha would aim each one carefully, directing them at a different crate each time, throwing them with enough force to leave a large hole within each container, if not break them to pieces.

And so; what would happen.?

Alas, before Katachi could act, the young shinobi Kanaye, having leaped towards the chest, and attempted to slice through it would act. His motions occur, landing upon the platform the chest lie, and his sword successfully penetrating the chest, and reacted oh so violently. Explosions would ignite, with the destruction and fury of a god himself.

For in his own carelessness, Kanaye had sliced through the chest, not knowing that it was lined with flint, a metal known for its electrical properties of creating sparks. This thin layer of flint, when met with the metal, would spark, igniting the nearly 200+ assortment of pouches and exploding tags inside which had not been seen since the chest was never opened. Before the young nin could probably react, such an explosion would go off, blasting the entire room and all those nearby into smitterns. The room across the hall, the room besides this very room, and even the room besides the room besides this room, all would ignite into flames, bursting into fiery death. Thousands of tiny metal balls and shrapnel would be sent flying, as a giant scroll of rolled paper, which had lay at the bottom would disintegrate into ash.

Note: This explosion is GIANT ASS, the chest was human sized. Nice going. Ya both be dead unless u can avoid that.

As soon as his sword would pierce the chest Kanaye saw sparks form. "Fuck!" KAnaye shouted as he began running out of the door at such an amazing speed the he left behind images of himself to the normal eye. Only those who have sharingan could possiable keep up with his speed. As Kanaye would make it out of the door way following his sixth image of himself chunks of metal would zoom out slicing his upper arms.

He winced in pain, but he would keep on moving still drivin by determination. "Yo Katachi, start running to the next room!" Kanaye shouted as his tenth image could be seen. Blood was dripping down his arms as he tripped over his own feet then began to slide. Once he looked up he saw a nine written on a door. He was breathing very hard as he looked back. Blood was still dripping and running down his arms, but Kanaye didn't seem to care. All that he cared about was rather he would live or not, and if he would be able to keep on going

He was struggling to stand on both legs that were greatly trembling. He turned around, but all of a sudden got thrown off of his feet from the force of the explosion sending him foward maybe to safety? Only one could hope....

Drawback: Can only be done ten times a day after learned due to abuse within Muscles, but each time trained one may do more and more. The user is only capable of making one at a time.
Description: The after image technique is the technique that allows the user to move side to side with extreme speed and towards a general direction creating an after image of the person. When learning this technique a person may only do Ten after images per day. If one wishes goes more then this number tissue has a chance to rip and tear. To be able to do more then ten per day one they must train for each again to create one more. This is the basis techniques for all techniques that may consist or deal with moves that deal with the After Image. This means that if a user wishes to know a technique that uses an after image they must have knowledge of this technique as well. Depending on how many after images a user uses within a technique is dependent on how many times this technique is known.

Heat..

Before the kunai would even begin to leave his hand, heat would begin to grind itself against the Uchiha’s skin, his nervous system kicking in to do its job. The trembling voice of Kanaye would drift into his ears, a tone that resembled death. His eyes would widen, although he wouldn’t be phased. There would be no time to think, no time to prevent the explosion from reaching him, no time for him to think o a way to defend against the time. The knowledge of their being an explosion would be unknown to him, although the simple fact that his partner had told him to run, had informed him that danger had headed his way. A quick focus of chakra would be ordered to his feet and with that, a flash would leave the Uchiha’s figure a mystery, for he would appear down the hallway, his “flask” now in front of door four. The heat would catch up with him none-the-less, small pieces of shrapnel scraping his skin, leaving cuts before he had a chance to Shunshin away. He would continue to run, only stopping once he reached room five, that is, only if he reached the door.

Sorry, Shushin no Jutsu takes chakra control, and it says your using a quick burst of chakra to your feet. You fail, as does your entire team, sorry.
