Lost in the Mountains… The Hunt Begins!

Name: SOS!
Rank: C
Description: An urgent SOS call was made late last night on a radio frequency picked up both by the Raikage Tower and the Yukikage Tower. The message was from a group of two Kumo civilians who attempted to climb a high mountain from the southern most mountain range in Yuki no Kuni. The message itself was distorted and almost impossible to understand. What was understandable was it was an urgent SOS call and the two men were dire need of help. It cuts off with the screams of the two men. Both towers were able to discover which mountain the signal came from but the exact location of the two men are unknown.
Requirements: A team, one from Cloud and one from Snow, of no more than 3 Genin.
Objective: Bring back the two men safely.
Rewards: 2000 Ryo.

“Der südlichste berg…¹” He murmured to himself. The enigmatic young Uchiha turned to his teammate, still having trouble fitting his mouth around words he was unused to speaking. “So we must head south to the southernmost mountain. It should not take very long to arrive.” With that he glanced out behind them, at the gates. “I am hoping this mission will not take too long. It does not seem to be difficult.”

His feet tapped along the snow. The stereotypical method of ninja travel, through the trees, was quite commonly not an option in Yuki no Kuni, for there was long stretches of snowy tundra where no trees lived separating the pine forests. It did not take long, however, before snow-laden boughs were around the teammates once more, and Masakuni leaped into the trees, expecting his teammate to follow. He knew the way to the mountain… He had been there before.

"So be it."

And they were off into the snowy tundra of Yuki no Kuni, that Tobi was so familiar with. It was not long before they were sprinting, Tobi behind Masa as they made their way to the cold forests of Snow. Quickly following the Uchiha's lead, Tobi would follow in the tree tops as they jumped towards their target. It was not Tobi who questioned the boys bloodline affiliations, but the Kikaichu within him.

"An Uchiha? The Copy eye of Konoha?"

They questioned both Tobi and themselves. Tobi would not answer, but instead analyze and think on it as they traveled. there was not question about it, they were the same clans as he had once heard of so long ago. Rumor had it they were extinct. Was this boy a walking miracle? What kind of force could defeat all those eyes? Tobi still ever wondering if the boy knew of all the things Tobi did about that clan. Now however, was not the time for such petite questions, later when the job was done would be the proper place, and so, Tobi keep quiet, but speaking to the bugs, easing their feeling of the cold as the shivered.

"No worries, almost their."

Prepared, the Kaiser reaches his Destination!

Uchiha Masakuni slowed, his feet skipping quietly through the branches as they approached the foot of their destination. Snow-fall was lighter in the south, letting the sun peak through the perpetual cloud veil from time to time. He smiled at that, his obsidian eyes catching a glimpse of the fiery orb before the clouds obscured it again. In Yuki no Kuni, the sun was a rare treat… He dropped from the trees, delicately landing at the foot of the mountain.

“Wir sind angekommen.¹” Masakuni said, before starting slightly. “My mistake. I said, we’re here.” He sighed, turning back to the mountain. “It would appear that the two idiots are somewhere up there… The only thing to do is climb, I suppose.” He flashed a smile at Tobi, straightening his vest and stepping up the foot of the mountain. With luck, they would find the fools in little more than an hour or two… He hoped.

Nodding some as they leaped out from the trees, Tobi was quick to follow the Uchiha. He spoke but a sentence in that language native to Yuki again, one that someone who originated in Konoha would not reckonize. They seemed to arrive at the mountain now, however, and with that Tobi new it was time. stretching both his arms out from his side, the Kikaichu were released out into the open and up to the Mountain top.

"Fly."

The only word that left the aburame's mouth. They would easily find the two stranded on the mountain if it came down to it, but Tobi would follow with Masakuni quickly behind his bugs. Hopefully, this would be no trouble at all.

The Hunt Continues!

“So erledigen die insekte unsere arbeit für uns…¹” Masakuni mused, watching the bugs go. He turned the Tobi, continuing to flit through the snow, rising higher along the side of the mountain. “Your creatures will find us our lost friends?” He asked, snow kicked up by his wake. His feet continued to move, compelled onward by his driving determination.

“Be sure to alert me when they have located the lost men… We await you, Aburame.” He said respectfully, his feet grazing the snow more lightly now, his pace lagging into a more leisurely one. It wouldn’t do to be far away in one direction if the flying insects found the men in the opposite direction…

"Aye."

The Aburame spoke back to the uchiha before him as the bugs flew forth, in an attempt to locate the lost shinobi in the mountains. Half of his bug companions would go left, the other half right. This would hasten the chance of finding the lost people, as they rose up in the mountain side, higher and higher climbing. One, single insect flew back to him, and spoke to Tobi.

"Nothing yet."

Nothing Yet/" He seemed to record the words back to the Uchiha as they climbed. He didn't expect finding them to be easy work, but he didn't truly think it would be super hard either. Suddenly the words of the Yukikage hard struck him. 'the sandaime's experimental labs' Certainly they didn't loose themselves there could they? Unfortunately for the Snow Genin, Tobi had not a clue where these dreadful places could be on the mountain, but the bugs would inform him.

"Find the labs Yodaime-sama spoke of, that would have a been a good place for the shinobi to make camp. Being shinobi, they would probably be smart enough to make camp in the alreaqdy made shelter. Lets hope they are ok......."

He spoke forth to the Uchiha, and the Kikaichu both. The single insect flew back towards the others to inform them as well, and make a break for the mountain side. Of course, there was always the possibility that they were still stranded on the Mountain side, and the Genin would keep his eyes peeled, for sure.

The Quest Continues…

“I wonder what exactly the Sandaime was up to in these mountains.” Uchiha Masakuni said, his accent still thickly visible in English. “Yondaime-sama has never mentioned these research labs before.” He frowned, his feet skipping of the rock he stood on to land in the snow once more, eyes looking to both sides. If only he had unlocked the Sharingan… He could have easily picked up traces of the men he sought.

“I doubt that two shinobi, or even just two able-bodied men, would be able to trap themselves up here without extenuating circumstances. Given that storm cells never come down this low, I’d say they were attacked by something. Be on the look-out for attackers.” He continued, glancing over to the side at Tobi. He frowned lightly. “Find anything yet?” He was getting into the groove of this language…

[Alrighty then.]

Just as he listened to the Uchiha speak towards him, the Kikaichu had sprung at, one single one and spoke to the Aburame. They boys were lost in the mountains east of their location, in some type of shelter, as he feared.

"Very Well then. To the East, Masakuni!"

And with a sprint, he would blast forth to his left, the east direction where the men where. He thought about the Uchiha's words. Could they have been attacked out here? If so, by what? The questions never seized to stop running through his mind as they raced forth towards the men, he prayed for their safety.

And so, the Quarry is Found!

Following Tobi, Uchiha Masakuni’s feet flew through the snow, skipping along with tremendous speed as they made towards the direction the Aburame had indicated. Those kikaichu were something else, Masakuni reflected, thinking about it. To have that kind of awareness… He chuckled quietly, racing towards the site. One day, his eyes would prove them all wrong. He’d show them…

For now, though, the bloody power of the Sharingan remained locked inside his blood, out of his reach. There would be quite a bit more work to do before he could unlock that power. With a growl, his ears perked up, alerted to the sounds of humanity. It was quiet, very quiet, but yet it was there. “I hear them.” He said, moving towards a small cleft in the snow. It turned out to be a dark entrance to a cave, though there was some form of electric light flickering within.

“One of the research labs.” He said…

Making his way to the two snow shinobi, Tieren held no signs of offense to them. "So, it seems that you two have started already. My apologies for not arriving sooner." Tieren stated, assuming that these were the snow shinobi sent to look for the cloud shinobi. "We are the team from the cloud village to assist in the search for the civilians of cloud. On behave of my village, I truly extend my thanks to you, but we do need to find these two before they get in even more trouble." Tieren continued, hoping that they were at least still alive, as well as wishing he had dressed a bit warmer. But his weapons were helping out a bit.

“I think someone is out there!” One of the men said, short, and perhaps slightly overweight. His dark hair spilled out of his beanie hat, falling over his baby blue eyes. He turned to his companion, who was currently sitting on the floor of the aged laboratory, stretching out his lanky body. His head was covered with a mop of blond hair, resting over brown eyes.

“Is there?” He said, his excitement rising. Lifting himself off the floor, the blonde moved over by the other man, gazing towards the crevice of the entrance, shivering. They had lost most of their supplies when the bandits had attacked… Thank god there were some men available to save them! They had been beginning to think they would die in there…

Following behind his team captain, Kirakentsu (Kira) would arrive a while after Tieren, for he had strayed off course without even realizing it. On any other mission, straying off of the mission directory may have ended in complete failure, but during his stray, he had noticed something extremely odd. The land of Yuki No Kuni was drenched in snow, but in one particular area, no snow had existed - even the trees that were colored white had vanished. Odd, it was and the Sakurai would make sure that he brought it out when he had caught up with the captain and the two snow shinobi. It wouldn’t take long for him to catch up though, and when he did he would simply sit in the back as Tieren spoke, but as he ended, Kira would speak up.

“A short ways from here, there is a large patch of land that has no snow or trees; The sky is blood red and a rather weird type of portal resides within the center. Perhaps we should pair up and split - one group continuing this mission while the other heads over to the area. It all depends on you guys, however.”

And then; he would wait for a response.

As Tieren and Kira raced through the frozen tundra the bitter cold whipped at Shinobu's face. Yet his senses embraced the freezing cold as if it was a friend, no, a relative whom he had not seen in ages. The harsh cold barely affected Shinobu, even though he was dressed in a sleeveless white karate uniform. I should be freezing my ass off in this cold he thought to himself. Yet...this cold feels so natural to me... He continued right behind Tieren as the Cloud team moved towards the other two Snow nin.

Soon they came upon the two Snow shinobi. As Tieren introduced himself Shinobu surveyed their situation. He noticed that Kira had left them but did not pay much mind to it as he soon returned. However, his face looked distressed, as if he had just seen some odd phenomenon...

Blood red?...A portal... Shinobu's mind failed to comprehend what exactly this "portal" could possibly be yet he was more than eager to find out. Glancing over at the Snow ninja, it appeared they were more than capable to continue this mission by themselves. If it was a simple search and rescue mission surely a team of two ninja would suffice. Yet, there was always the possibility of there being more than that. Yet, there was also the ominous hellish portal. Shinobu was torn. Fortunately, this type of decision would be best left up to their leader.

"I agree, we should definitley split up. However, what ever you decide Tieren, we will surely follow you." Glancing over the to the direction where Kira said the portal was, Shinobu's gut twisted. He had a strange feeling about this. If this portal posed a direct threat to Snow he would protect this country as if it was his own. Little did he know, that it actually was.

It took Tobi some time to absorb all the information as the others arrived. What to do? Save the cilivians, or save his village? Such a tough choice to make. Splitting up sounded good. The Cloud shinobi did not know they're way around the Yuki mountains as well as Masakuni and Tobi, so perhaps it was best for them to deal with this said 'Gate' and hold them off as Tobi and Masa saved the others.

"We know these lands best, you hold off the things at the gate, we will find your villagers and bring them back to Snow Village, and them come to join you in the fight at the red skies. Sound Good?"

A proposal to the Cloud and Snow Ninja present. Time, seemed to be of the essence now, and perhaps they needed to do this quickly, for every ones sake. These were the tough decisions shinobi had to make, and hopefully, they would all make the right one.......

[Tieren]

((Sorry for the skipping of Masakuni with this post, but I have a feeling that if no one gets to that event soon, Shinta will start to unload monsters from the gate to the village.))

Hearing the words from his teammates, Tieren thought on them. Both Kira and Shinobu wanted to go to this gate, and the snow ninja before him said to hold it off while the snow ninja continued the mission. Tieren didnt particularly want to split up, but in terms of what was best, this might strengthen the alliance between cloud. Besides, if either of these snow ninja had snow or ice jutsu, they would probably be useless in that gate considering the gate had rid the patch of all plant life and snow and ice.

So Tieren would think of what was best, rather then his own personal decision. The two countries were allies, and the snow ninja would be capable of getting the cloud civilians to safety much easier then the cloud shinobi. So Tieren would speak up. "Very well. We shall head on out to defend your village from whatever lie beyond that gate. It seems to be the smartest course of actions. Plus, 3 people defending the gate is better then 2. When you have gotten those civilians to safety, come join us." He then looked to Kira and said "Lead the way to where you saw the gate." When Kira would leave, Tieren would turn back to the snow shinobi and say "Good Luck" Before making his way toward the gate.

Shinobu couldn't help but to feel torn between the two scenarios. He was already assigned this mission to find and rescue people from his own country. However, he began to think that this is exactly what allies are for. It is only natural for a shinobi not to trust another from a different origin yet with Thunder and Snow now being allies, trusting each other, even when there are lifes at stake, is not only right but in this case, necessary.

Shinobu agreed that the two teams splitting up would be the most logical situation. If there isn't any threat at the gate, their team could quickly meet up with them again anyway. However, Shinobu had a odd feeling that this would not be the case. Shinobu turned to Kira and waited him to lead them to the gate.

Discovered? And a Gate??

“Ein gatter? Ungerade… Dieses prophezeit illinois.¹” He murmured, frowning. He bowed to the Kumo Shinobi, who exited in a hurry as well, to deal with said gate. He was grateful for that… That meant he and Tobi could focus on their mission. “The men are in here.” He said, rapping on the nearly frozen door of the concealed laboratory. He threw a couple hand seals together, bringing his hand to his mouth and releasing a blast of flame, melting off all the snow and ice. “Katon: Goukakyuu!” He said, letting the flames die out.

“Let’s go.” He said.

Katon - Goukakyuu no Jutsu (Great Fireball Technique)

Effect: The user is capable of performing a few handseals in which gives them the capability of blowing a large body of fire in size of a large sphere that has great fire proportions and explosive capabilities.
Special: "Handseals"
Drawback: Depending on the Rank, is dependent on how strong or how much the user is capable of doing with the Goukakyuu no Jutsu.
Description: The user quickly performs a few handseals. The user then places the hand over their mouth creating a small like circle. This technique in turn is then to help the user control the great flame. The use then blows out and creates a large fireball that twice the size of a normal human body. When the "C" Rank version is first learned the user is only capable of blowing out the Great Fireball that is can not be moved or go anywhere else. This also means that the technique does not explode in a fieiry explosion, but burns greatly to anyone that is caught within the technique. When the user learns the "B" Rank version then the user is capable blowing the Great Fireball into the distance, sending it away from the use it to hurl towards the very opponent. This technique is only capable of going into a straight line and this is capable of having the size three times the size of a human body. This technique when launched at an opponent then becomes dangerous because at this point the technique can explode causing even more devastating damage.

His handseals matched that of the Uchiha's speed, but were different. Tobi would also attempt to melt the door at the same time as Masakuni. A Dragon Fire would expel form his mouth as it met the door and the Great Fireball technique. Both of the flames heat combined would most deffinently melt the snow and ice off the door. Smiling some, Tobi and Masa would walk towards the door, before Tobi summoned his Kikaichu back to him from the surrounding area. Opening the door, only god knows what would be within the lab.

Katon - Ryuuka no Jutsu (Dragon Fire Technique)

Skill: NinJutsu
Effect: The user quickly performs a large creation of blindinf fire into the form of a large Dragon form. The Dragon must be used in the same concept as the Goukakyuu no Jutsu in which must be thrown by placing a hand in a circle form over the mouth of the user.
Special: "Handseals"
Drawback: This type of technique is better used if the opponent is binded down and unable to be moved.
Description: A Large creation is created as the user performs the neccessary handseals for the technique. As the user does so they raise their hand up over their mouth. By taking in a deep breathe the user fills their lungs with chakra to in which egnites the moment they blow the air out. As the user blows out the creation of fire is made taking the form of a giant dragon like creature. The Dragon is quickly hurled towards the opponent as the dragon swivles and swirves moving like that of a Chinese Dragon. When first learned the Dragon does not explode forth but the very flames oozes out spreading out in all directions that would wrap around the opponent in a blaze of glory. When the user learns the "B" Rank version the user is capable of pushing so much power into the technique to where when it touches the target it is needed it is egnited in a mass blaze of glory, creating a grand explosion.

As the men heard the flames melting away the ice that held the door shut, they felt a strange sensation, a mixture of elation and fear. Would their rescuers be taken down as easily as they had? Rushing to the entrance, they leaped out the newly opened door, tasting the fresh air and the cool light of Yuki no Kuni. “We’re saved!” the first said. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” The two of them bowed at the feet of the Snow Nin.

“Beware, though… We were trapped by bandits. They may be around still!”

The Hunt Ends! But Danger Approaches!

“Banditen, sagen sie?¹” Uchiha Masakuni said, narrowing his eyes and frowning. He looked out across the snowscape briefly, before offering his hand to one of the men, helping pull him out through the hole. These men needed to be returned to Kumogakure… Since the Kumo delegation had taken up the strange portal, it was up to him and Tobi to get these men back to their home country. He frowned glancing around again.

“Watch for banditen, ya?” He said to Tobi, helping the next man through the hole. “It seems that we must be returning these men to Kumogakure.” With that, he stepped slightly down the slope, this time in the direction of the Thunder Country. He didn’t expect to get off the mountain without a fight, but he was pretty confident in his ability to handle a rogue nin or two. With a quick motion, he scouted a head, glancing back to ensure his teammate and their charges were safe.
