In the ancient shinobi world, cathedrals, or “places of demonic worship” were placed all over, because strength was often sought after. In these places of “worship” people often took heretics, thieves, and slaves into chambers, sacrificial chambers. These certain “low life” people were placed on giant stone tablets, when great thunderstorms came, and as the lightning began to draw nearer to the Cathedrals, these people were buckled down. When the lightning got close enough to the Cathedrals, the so called “light power,” which was what they referred to it as, people were lit, literally. Lightning surged through the entire cathedral, creating a blue essence to glow all around the entire place of worship, and the so called power was put through the people being buckled down by “rods” that stuck through their belly.
There was no real ritual to it, the people were taken by force, because they were afraid that one day the world would flood over if the sky was not given it’s daily sacrifice. Though, as the population decreased, the minds began changing. Others began to rebel, and protest against the horrific acts being practiced during the times of storm. Though, on one faithful day, a lowly peasant was beaten down brutally, and taken to the cathedral, though when they stabbed him he did not yell, he stood in silence as tears rolled down his body. And as lightning struck the Cathedral, lightning surged through the body of the peasant, but he was not being killed, the lightning surged through his body and gave him even more power. Though, that was the legend, and people in the cathedral that night were never heard of again.
From then the cloud village’s cathedral was referred to as the “lightning cathedral,” for it’s history, and it stood as a warning to all that opposed it. Since that day, cathedrals were torn down all over the world, and I is even rare to see one today, although no one has had the guts to even touch the Lightning Cathedral, for it’s history haunts most. Frightened by dying from the lightning surges which always strike the cathedral, people do not go near it. Other rumors go on that the man who was struck by lightning those many years ago, is still living, as a ghost, and haunts it, and those who dare enter are slain down on site.
At first sight, one would think this place was haunted because it looks haunted, and also because of the rumors. Rain clouds always hover over the cathedral, although no one ever sees the rain, though lightning is always striking around the cathedral. A large metal rod acts as the cathedral’s top, an odd decoration. Lightning has seen to surge through the rod and into the entire cathedral and light it up, providing energy for the inside. 3rd age stones create the pathway which leads into the entrance. The small stone gate which reaches about three feet high does nothing but make this scary place, look even scarier. The cathedral itself is very large, reaching up to four stories, and even higher with the tops of the individual parts of the castle. The mirrors lay on the left and right of the giant oak doors, in the shape of diamonds.
Three giant mirrors stand on the left and right sides of the church, with diamond patterns on it, all growing into the shape of a cloud into the center. At the seal of the roof, there are square gaps that allow air to enter into the cathedral, but it also allows rats and other little critters to let themselves in without invite. These holes also provide gutter way for the grass and plants growing on the inside of the three foot gate on the outside. A well sits right in the back of the cathedral, it has not been touched, even when the Cathedral was full of life, and when people actually visited it. Although many have not dared to enter the cathedral, many have said on full moons, the temple will light up in a light blue color, so vibrant that it acts as a lighthouse for people bordering the sea, but others have proved it to be rumor. - ; first floor
Once entering the cathedral, one will notice that the place looks bigger on the inside. On each sides of the wall sit statues, and most of them look unorganized, as if they had minds of their own. Behind the statues are black pits, which hold even more statues that revolve around in cycles on the floor which are moveable only by electricity. On the roof of the first floor there are small gaps, all the same size, about one foot in length and one inch in width, which shoot out shuriken. At the end of the room, there is a large generator which gets its energy from pure lightning, which is always radiating from rods that lay atop of the cathedral. The obstacles in this room are activated by triggering the generator, and by doing so, each task will be random.
Beside the generator is a computer attached at the center of it. The user will place what his/her releases are, and the computer will generate scrolls. Each scroll is random but they all pertain to the release it feeds off of. The generator will not shut off until the simulation is complete, and after completion you will gain a ranking in the computer, with the highest being one. There are no limits to the amount of jutsu one can learn on this level, although the rankings will differ. The first floor only allows jutsu ranks that vary from E through B. An elevator at the back wall of the first floor will take you to the second floor. - ; second floor
The second floor is nothing but a white room. A giant black door lies at the back of the room, and usually brings out targets, which are to be defeated. The monsters let loose will stop when they see you cannot handle any more. The monsters are summoned from Jeeves, the one who controls the mansion. You will not meet him until you are strong enough to enter the second floor. Just like the first floor, a generator is there. The generator is located beside the large black door, and beside the generator is the elevator which brings you to the third floor.
The simulations run jutsu that run off of A ranked techniques, and only A ranked techniques. The user will of course be learning how to use the techniques being assigned to them, but at the same time, they must figure out how to defeat the beasts assigned to you, and each one is significant. To the right there is a giant gap in the floor, which leads back down to the second floor, but on the other side of this gap are two separate rooms, both about 10 meters in length and width. These rooms are used for many purposes, diversions, sneak attacks, and anything else the person in the room can use it for. The elevator will take you to the third floor, better yet known as the Thunder Cathedral’s sacrificial room, although it has no roof. - ; third floor/roof
The third floor is the hardest place to access in the Thunder Cathedral. The floor is split up in two sections, one where the generator stands, and one where the training platform stands. The training platform will change versions of it’s terrain, to match every type of element there is, no matter what the persons release may be. The platform switches it’s versions randomly, and not knowingly. Lightning is always striking down in random spots upon the platform, so when training here you will constantly have to dodge monsters. Maintaining three things on this level will be hard enough, simply because you are fighting monsters summoned by Jeeves, dodging the lightning bolts which come down instantly upon you, and learning the technique given to you by the generator.
Be careful….all who enter.
