Ink projectiles...seemed simple enough. Rina thought to herself, wandering through one of the rock fields of Tshchi no Kuni. Sketchbook in hand, and small gourd of ink at her side, the stone genin stood, 20 feet away from a particuarly flat and large boulder. Rina decided this was the perfect place to learn this basic technique.
Rina focused her chakra to her throat. Having a mother in the Li clan, she was taught how to create ink from an early age. Focusing on the thick liquid congealing in the back of her esophagus, she pictured ninja weapons. Kunai, long sharp with a rink around their back. Senbon, long shafts of metal with a deadly point. Shuriken, star shaped and sharp, a ring missing from the middle. The geometry of these projectiles in her mind, she pushed the ink from her body to the air. Instead of flying weapons, it appeared the young girl had vomited up a pool of black liquid.
Staring down at her failure, she realized that she needed to add substance to the ink. Gathering her chakra once more, she directed it to the ink and tried to trace out the weapons from the formless blob. Thinking she had them formed, she lurched forward again and spewed forth another pool of ink but instead of being flat, this time it appeared that pieces of the weapons were sticking out of the ink. The ring and handle of a kunai could be seen as well as a few discontinued shuriken and pieces of what would be senbon.
Disappointed, but still determined, she tried again. Inhaling deeply, she gathered the required energy to her throat. Feeling ink fill it, the focused hard on creating just one weapon, a kunai. She thought intently on the shape and form of the weapon. A simple ring, attached to a cloth covered handle. The handle, adorned with a simple yet sharp blade. Her lungs expelled the air and propelled the ink forward. A large portion of the liquid flew about a foot and a half before splattering on the ground, but a single jet black kunai careened forward into the rock, leaving a black stain that ran down the front.
Excited by her progress, she wasted no time to try again. A deep breath and ink immediately began to form from the chakra gathered there. The liquid gurgled and filled her esophagus. This time, she pictured 3 kunai, 4 shuriken, and 3 senbon. One by one, she mentally traced the projectiles until they all glowed with a tiny aura of blue. Rina opened her eyes and lurched forth, expelling the in weapons. They flew true, and the sun reflected off a tiny trail of ink left by the projectiles.
Rina wanted to try one more thing. This technique was fine for flinging the weapons, but the whole thing was rather…vulgar in her mind. She wanted to alter the technique a bit. Instead of regurgitating the weapons, she would rather let them leap off the page, literally. Rina dipped her calligraphy brush in the ink produced by her earlier that was stored in a small gourd. The kunoichi pushed her chakra into the tip of the brush and speedily swished out 10 extremely accurate portraits of ninja weapons on her sketch book. The edges of the flying projectiles seemed to glow with a feint blue aura. With her left hand, she pushed a boost of chakra into the book and the ink trembled on the page. The shapes peeled off of the paper and became three dimensional. With a final blast of chakra, the weapons sped into the stone, now almost fully covering the bolder.
