Cobbled stone pathways gave way to the serene pace of Souzen's footsteps, ebon hakama and tabi sandeled feet skirting across the pathway through the milling crowds of people within Mashimizu. Leisurely would one hand be placed upon the tsuba of his katana, the other tucked into his obi sash as he moved towards his destination. Azure occuli scanning the distance ahead he would notice a lady clad only in a kimono air out a carpet in the window, a child at her side. A small smile would tug at his countenance, relieving it off the once stern look that it had held only moments before. Truly he wished this kind of simple peace for Amekagure…yet he had heard nothing from the village since the rebellion and his return to wandering the continent. Once more Ame no Kuni would need his strength, but for now he had to finish this last part of his journey and acquire Mai’s legacy.
Nervous excitement welled deep within breast, he was so close! Pace quickening he would bring himself closer and closer to the building that housed the fabled blade. Indigo iris’s would sight his target in the distance, drinking in its sight. It lay upon a six pathed junction within the city. Ominous and foreboding it would rise from the cobbled streets. Pausing within the shadow of a nearby potato venders shaded stand he would appraise his target. It was more derelict then many of the other buildings within, chunks of concrete missing from its foundation and walls while dim curtains covered any of the suns light from filtering in. Two gruff looking thugs covered the entrance.
Cerulean eyes narrowing dangerously Souzen would approach the entrance, soft foot steps carrying him closer. The two hired rogues would notice his approach, eyes would darken and there faces would form into a scowl. The burliest one on the left would approach Souzen as soon as he came within distance of the building.
” Oi! You better move along thar nancy boy! This place is not for the likes of you!”
He wouldn’t even have time to reply, the hilt of Souzen’s katana smashing into his skull. Stunned the thug would fall to the streets even as his companion stared at him slack jawed. Within the blinking of an eye he would be next, his slack form slumping against the walls as Souzen entered the building…these goons would not deter him from his goal.
Entering the building Souzen’s nostrils would flare at the rank smell that assaulted his senses. It seemed anyone involved in illegal trade was prone not to bathe either. Eyes drinking in the setting he would immediately search the surrounding, his gaze becoming fixated upon a rather rubinesque man who cowered near his illegal merchandise. Large, purposeful strides would carry him to the man where he would grab a fist full of his collar and lift him off the floor.
” You know what I have come for…tell me where it is or your head is going to be separated from your body.” With that he would throw him into the wall, the ground shaking at the stout mans fall. Triple chins quivering in fear he would only point to a long thin object wrapped within crimson silk. Eyes burning with a furious fever Souzen would grab it from the merchant’s goods, depositing ten thousand Ryo on the table. Even if this man was naught but a thief , Souzen’s honour demanded he did not steal, the amount was more then enough…at least to the man who knew nothing of what he had in his grasp.
Ebon garments fluttering in the slight breeze Souzen would exit the derelict black market, crimson wrapped object clutched tightly in his hand…Mai’s legacy…the tenkyo Buryoku katana was now his.
