Name: "Kumogakure Full Moon Festival"
(Aka. Village Augmentation Festival)
Rank: B-ranked
Plot: "The Full Moon is the rebirth of Man"
The astronomical calender of the Moon, dictates that a "Full Moon" will rise in the next coming weeks. This Full moon occurs at the end of the Winter season, and is a very special time of year for the Cloud village. This Full moon indicates a time of rebirth and change. Past problems are forgotten and solved; worries and woes are relinquished; and a fresh start is given to each family, friend and individual. This New Moon is a sign of Hope and Happiness, a chance for many to move on with their lives and finally feel "that everything going to be ok".
Before the New Moon Festival arises, it is tradition for the Hidden village to perform a ritual that is known as "The Cleansing". During the Cleansing, the village and its people "give back" to their mother land, their village and their ancestors who built it all. The homeland has cared for its people, and now it is time to return this thanks. People volunteer to help around the village, adjusting, and improving the village and its many landmarks. Old buildings become restored, and fixed; New structures are built and created within the city, and Current places and locations are improved and enhanced as well.
"The sweat of the brow is earned by the commoner, and the body is cleansed through hard work"
The cleansing reminds people to have love and care for the home in which they live in. It helps remind people that the village was founded on blood, sweat and tears. Giving back to the community is very important, and the Cleansing does just that. From a mythical point of view, it is believed that the sweat of the body is a form of spiritual cleansing; thus as the body sweats during hard work and labor, you are being 'cleansed' of your past worries and problems.
The cleansing coincides with the Full Moon Festival, as they go hand in hand with each other.
During the cleansing, participants will be guided on which parts of the Village they can help fix and improve, so that things are kept organized. Select individuals will look after the work that is being done, and tell a participant i something needs more improvement, needs more work, or if the job is completed altogether, and another task may be given.
Each location has a set amount of tasks which can be taken, and the selected guiders will dictate progress, improvement and completion of each task.
Once everything is completed, the cleansing ends, and the village watches as a group the rise and fall of the Full Moon. Treats, gifts and drinks are given out for free, as everybody enjoys the Full Moon Festival, and the satisfactions of knowing that they helped the village grow...
