Character Depth
Personality:
- Ambitious
"To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act."
Albeit silly at times, Yukigakure no Sato’s Hyoukishi is one of high ambitions. Even the skies can’t be considered a limit to Axcel. His goals are far higher than the average persons, making the boastful boy a very proactive person and always aiming higher and higher. He has always been one to tell others to shoot for the moon, for even if they miss they will land among the stars. That saying is something that has stuck with him for a large portion of his life, leading him to be the type of person who is always giving his one hundred percent. - Resolute
"Let me tell you the secret that has led me to where I am. My strength lies solely in my tenacity."
Axcel is one who carries an unwavering resolve. Not even the mightiest of people can shatter his beliefs, as if it were a sword forged by the legendary smiths themselves. His determination and sheer level of willpower would seem to know no ends as he never shows the slightest hint of giving up on whatever his predicament may be. His unfaltering resolve to protect his comrades carries him past his very own limitations. - Sanguinity
"I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time."
Just as he has always been, Axcel is an extraordinarily optimistic person. His hope acts as a beacon of light during the worst of circumstances. The youth tends to turn what seems to be gloomy and demoralizing of situations into one of high spirits, hopes, and unyielding steadfastness. This leads the boy to be quite the confident one, believing highly in both himself and his comrades. His confidence goes hand in hand with his strong resolve creating quite a powerful combination. Having confidence in himself gains the confidence of others leading to true success. - Eccentric
"The wit makes fun of other persons; the satirist makes fun of the world; the humorist makes fun of himself."
His qualities are meshed in with some odd traits making Axcel quite a strange character. He loves to play jokes on other’s expense and enjoys a good laugh in all its forms. This is a trait that he has had his entire life, laughing is what he believes to be the greatest gift. He is able to find humor everywhere and irony in everything, often telling others that life is tough yet if they have the ability to laugh at it they have the ability to enjoy it. Along with his enjoyment for humor, you will often find the boy randomly stripping. This is something he picked up from his master, often being forced to train in the cold in nothing but boxers, causing an odd habit of stripping down into his boxers subconsciously. To top things off, it would seem that Axcel is partially narcoleptic, randomly falling asleep at the most inappropriate of times.
[/blockquote]Appearance:
Three years ago
Axcel has grown quite a bit over the past three years. He stands at a height of 5 feet 11 inches and weighs about 156 lbs now. His tall spiky hair has been cut, and the white tuft that once made him stood out has disappeared. His hair is still spiky, however it is much shorter and usually unkempt. His body is leaner as well as obviously more matured in comparison to when he was fourteen. The youth has even packed some muscle into his small frame over the years, yet does not appear to be bulky but instead toned. A horizontal scar is clearly visible underneath his left eye but other than that his skin reveals no blemishes. His eye color varies during the seasons. During the spring and summer it is of a bright cyan color of an almost icy blue shade. However, during the fall and winter his eyes are cerulean and of a much darker shade. Simply by looking into Axcel’s eyes one can tell he is a man of determination and strong will, yet still a lighthearted boy.
His headband is no longer kept over his forehead, nor does the articles of clothing he once bore can be seen on him as he had obviously outgrown it. Instead he wears a variety of clothing, ranging from a kimono to a usual pair of shinobi pants and flak jacket. His clothing varies unlike before, so it is difficult to categorize. However his colors are usually limited to that of varying shades of blue along with white or black. Underneath his clothing he usually has bandages wrapped around his torso, covering less than half of the lower end. Bandages are also wrapped around his forearm and at times it will even cover his palm and the top of his hand.
Other than the above, the boy does bear some items of sentimental value. Such as the ever so familiar silver necklace around his neck. The pendant is a six pointed snowflake with each end resembling that of a blade. On the back of the pendent, “Zenryoku” can be seen carved into it, thus giving the boy his last name when he had naught but that to look to.
History:
[/size][/blockquote]
“The day I was born, the earth shook and the heavens cracked open. The stars realigned. Rivers changed their courses. A comet appeared. Choirs of angels proclaimed my greatness. All ice cream was free.”
Where to begin? The grand tale of Zenryoku Axcel is sure a vast one, leaving quite a bit to cover. His first years of life would be normal as he dwelled in happiness receiving undivided attention and affection from his parents. The two of his parents were once high ranking shinobi of Kirigakure no Sato, however due to complications with the Kaishin clan they would quickly retire upon Axcel’s birth. It was a mystery really, but apparently the Kage reigning over Chigiri no Sato (Village of the Bloody Mist) didn’t approve. Things didn’t slow down from their, apparently their issues with the clan had been heating up causing both parties to chase after the family. Thus Axcel’s family began its escape from Mizu no Kuni. Their destination? Anywhere really, they went where the wind took them which led to Yuki no Kuni. Anbu were hot on their tail unfortunately, and would eventually catch up. His mother took the time to take her necklace off and put it around the four year old boy’s neck, knowing their last stand would be soon. Creating a Mizu Bunshin, she ordered her clone to take ahold of the young boy and take him as far as possible. The last thing the boy would see was a massive dragon in the air formed from water which seemed to be pulled from the very air. Eventually after hearing a distant shriek the bunshin that carried Axcel would shatter into a number of water droplets, causing the boy to fall onto the snowy ground.
After wandering what would seem like weeks, the child had came across large steel gates and was met with ANBU of Yukigakure no Sato. Obviously the boy was terrified due too what had occurred with his parents, his view on the shinobi world was distorted. At one point he was infatuated with them and yet when his dear parents were killed in cold blood he had become lost in confusion. After taking the boy in for investigation, it was decided the youth was allowed to stay in Yukigakure. Although he was watched for sometime they would eventually cease the need to worry as the boy became active within the village’s community and became a positive individual, more than capable of taking care of himself. With due time, he would eventually enroll into the Shinobi academy at a fairly young age.
Years would pass as the boy found where he truly lied, in the heart of battle. Although his lust for blood wasn’t elevated, his proficiency in the ninja arts was higher than your average academy student. He was a born prodigy. His ability using both Suiton and Hyouton were amazing in comparison to the other students and even some of the Gennin. The child’s taijutsu was no joke either. Although unlike most that were of genius level, Axcel was far from stuck up. In fact, his fellow classmates loved him for his friendly nature and sincerity. His graduation would come early at the young age of ten, and his headstrong nature led him to complete a number of missions within his first two years. Partnered with Shimizu Kii and Seitetsu Seiitsu, Axcel would quickly become a powerful asset within Yukigakure. As the team grew however, Kii began to distance himself and eventually attacked Axcel with murderous intentions. Although hesitant at first, it was clear that that the attacker wasn’t the Kii they knew upon seeing the insanity raging in his eyes. Axcel was forced to slay his comrade, putting both him and Seiitsu in a state of uncertainty. Despite the death of a close friend, Axcel was able to recover. Its not to say he wasn’t unaffected though, for the death of Shimizu Kii had greatly impacted the boy. Later at the age of twelve, he would ascend to Chuunin level, whizzing through the Chuunin exams. It wasn’t until later that the boy would reach his true potential, when he met Shuuryuu, a Sannin of Yukigakure no Sato.
Under Shuuryuu’s tutelage, Axcel would tap into his true abilities. The boy had always been far more capable than he let on, he was capable of creating both water and ice without the need of a source. Yet he never did in fear of what may happen to him, always reluctant to reveal his true power. He didn’t understand it nor did he know why was able too perform such feats, thus he was afraid of it. Shuuryuu had always known of the youth’s abilities, but she had always acted ignorant to this fact. When Axcel was thirteen, Shuuryuu decided to take him on a training leave away from the village. The young boy would explore Yuki no Kuni with his sensei as he underwent her inhuman training. Forced to train in nothing but his boxers, the young boy was both nervous and freezing cold, yet with time his utilization of the Hyouton release would be masterful. His bond with his sensei would strengthen as they traveled the continent together. The young boy would begin to understand his abilities more and more, and would be more than confident enough to harness the abilities bestowed to him by his lineage. The very blood that coursed through his veins, regardless of whatever past it held, was his and he had nothing to hide any longer.
At fifteen the two would make their way through foreign lands and would encounter a group of Shirai-Ryu. They appeared to know of Shuuryuu, referring to her as a name unfamiliar to Axcel. They referred to her as a Kaishin. It struck the young boy as odd, but he carried on listening to their conversation. From what Axcel could put together…Shuuryuu was a part of a clan that originated in Mizu no Kuni. His heart was pounding and he hadn’t felt his confused since his distorted perception of the Shinobi world. Was it possible that his sensei was from the clan he was a part of? The very clan that played a role in his parents’ death?! The frozen blood that flowed through his body was boiling as his head pounded in confusion, and it was as if his very soul had been lost. His sensei reassured him that everything would be okay, but she would be shortly cut off as a number of Shirai-Ryu members had simultaneously attacked her. She had summoned ice using the abilities Axcel had possessed, however her mastery over the Hyouton release was far greater than Axcel’s, something that had shocked him entirely. His master had made Axcel look like a novice at the art of his own Kekkai Genkai. However things didn’t look so hot for Shuuryuu. She was easily able to ward off their attacks and even managed to deal heavy wounds to the Shirai-Ryu, however they possessed amazing abilities involving parasites with them. It was truly breath taking, and soon Axcel’s sensei would reach critical condition. Axcel would attempt to step in, but with Shuuryuu taking notice she would immediately form a large, thick dome of ice over her and the group of enemies, effectively cutting Axcel off from the rest. You’d think by now he would get the idea, but no, he slammed his hands against the frozen ice as he watched his master barely defend herself against a group of assassins. It took Mr. Squiggles, Shuuryuu’s pet polar bear, to maul him from the side and drag him away by force. His last sight would be of Shuuryuu’s death along with her attackers. The boy would simultaneously have flashbacks of his own mother being attacked whilst watching his master suffer the same fate.
Days would pass by as Axcel lay on the back of his polar bear companion while he trudged through the heavy snow storm. The distressed shinobi was lost in mind and body, unsure of where to go and what had just occurred. To simply put it, Axcel was in shambles at this point. It wasn’t until he was confronted by an older man that he would be able to pull himself together. He introduced himself as Kaiser, a name that would be embedded into his very soul for quite sometime. The Ossan, as Axcel referred to him as due it meaning old man, had told him he had witnessed what had occurred between his master and the attackers. He explained both why Shuuryuu had been murdered in cold blood and their lineage. Apparently this Kaiser fellow was also a part of the Kaishin clan, the clan that Axcel belonged too. There was more to his tale however, and apparently the old man had a watchful eye on Yuki no Kuni as well as his origins. He knew of Axcel’s parents, of course, there were not many Kaishins who were in touch with their roots did not. His parents had been more than just Jounin of Kirigakure, they were hailed as legends within their clan. In fact, their blood was of royalty among the clan and they were not far down the line of the clan’s successors. However, just like Yukina and Yuuki, two shinobi credited with founding the bloodline, time would repeat itself. Their ways weren’t appreciated by those farther down the line of heirs and soon they would rally against them. With Axcel’s birth being only known to the head of the Kaishin clan whom resided in Yuki no Kuni and would be supportive towards his family, they fled there so their child wouldn’t suffer their own inevitable fate. Now it seemed Axcel would be in Yuuske’s shoes, the son of Yukina and Yuuki. When the young boy asked Kaiser about the history behind the necklace he bore, which had Zenryoku carved behind it, even he was stumped, not having a clue what it meant. Despite this, everything began to make sense to Axcel, and his understanding of his family history was clear. His ties to the Kaishin clan had been cut, and the young boy preferred things to be this way.
Now the young shinobi would fall underneath the tutelage of the mysterious Kaiser. Mr. Squiggles was never fond of Kaiser, often growling towards him and being unfriendly, yet he never acted rashly out of respect towards Axcel. The three of them would travel and explore the world, seeing many countries and small villages alike. The shinobi had learned many things mentally and physically. The ever-growing shinobi would master many of the Kaishin arts. Before he had thought he had a mastery over his abilities, but now he was actually able to apply them! His newly founded mastery over his Kekkai Genkai was far greater than what he was capable of before. However, the mystery behind his new sensei would quickly be cleared up. He had told the boy he would teach him a technique far greater than any ninjutsu in existence under one condition. To aid him in a terrorist assault against Yukigakure no Sato. His motives were truly unknown and Axcel was taken back by what he had said. He was thankful for what he had done for him, but Axcel could not accept his offer. This would lead to a small clash, but the shinobi knew he wouldn’t be able to defeat the old man, also known as the Dark Kaiser of the Kaishin. Axcel had escaped, however deep down he knew it was only because the man had allowed him to do so. What were his intentions? Axcel had asked himself repeatedly on his way back to his home, Yukigakure.
Upon arriving, Axcel would meet with the Kage in office and report all that had occurred between Shuuryuu and him. It was a tragic loss, but nothing they could do now. When asked if anything else had occurred, Axcel would merely shake his head some implying nothing else had happened. He would delve into his own research about said Kaiser. Just as he had thought, the old man was a nukenin. Axcel had been training under a powerful missing ninja from Yukigakure who has been known to lead terrorist attacks against the village. At this point Axcel had been clenching his fists tightly as he struggled to keep his cool. He felt as if he had betrayed his village by becoming a pupil of a nukenin from his very own village! The Chuunin had entered a state of confusion once more. His whole life had seem to be a random chain of events. First he was orphaned at a young age followed by discovering his genius within the shinobi arts and quickly ascending the ranks. After that he would fall under the tutelage of a powerful Sannin within Yukigakure. Following her death though, he would end up having a master of equal power and infamy equivalent to his previous master’s fame throughout Yuki no Kuni. He had learned the truth behind both his past and his lineage. The Dark Kaiser of the Kaishin had taught him many things, as did Shuuryuu. Thinking back on his life, the shinobi of sixteen years knew what he had to do. He would continue to grow, and through only his own power would he find himself.
Yukigakure no Sato’s Hyoukishi, or Glacier Knight, would be name often talked about throughout the village. Over the past year, the matured Axcel had become renown throughout the country. Notorious for his mastery over the Hyouton and Suiton release, people began referring to him as Hyoukishi. The title of Glacier Knight was one of great honor, dubbed by only the people of Yukigakure. The blood that courses through his veins, the blood of a Kaishin, is unknown to all within the village. His ability to summon both water and ice at such levels is simply explained by genius ability within the arts, at least that is the conclusion the villagers have come too. Even if the boy did lack his lineage, he would likely be capable of wielding both Suiton and Hyouton with near equal efficiency. His connections to the Kaishin was something none, even the clan members themselves, would figure out. Lacking any physical resemblance to that of the average Kaishin, the Hyoukishi of royal blood would keep his past in obscurity. With that, the vast tale of Zenryoku Axcel would come to a conclusion. The legend of Yukigakure no Sato’s Glacier Knight however, has just begun.
