Walking along the road away from the rain village, Muteki began to contemplate. He hadn’t been outside rains borders in the past year. He missed his traveling days. It was just to much fun to travel about doing whatever came across his mind, but without someone to travel with, or some goal to reach, why bother? It was in the journey, not the destination, but without a destination there cant really be no journey….just a meandering. Muteki had more useful things to do then meander….whatever those things may be. His brow furrowed as he continued walking down the paved road.
As his march continued, he realized he was on a merchants path. Precisely one that lead towards the land of river. He plodded along, every once in a while seeing a few merchants here and there. Every time he passed a group they were apparently talking about something they had recently seen that had put them in awe. Apparently while traveling in the river country, they noticed a large, behemoth of a snake creature moving over the landscape. In the beginnings, Muteki thought it nothing more then drunken ravings, but with so many hallucinating the same thing, Muteki began to think…perhaps it wasn’t a coincidence?
The idea perplexed Muteki. He couldn’t help thinking to himself. “Big snake hmm? Rings a bell I think….” It took him a while to remember, but finally it struck him. He recalled his last encounter with this behemoth. It was in the land of wind. Apparently it was some pet of Heero, the Kazekage. That’s a name and a face he had not only forgotten, but one he had met only that one occasion…admittedly leaving an impression probably. He was less experienced then. Perhaps it was time to rekindle the acquaintance. According to the accounts, the snake was heading towards fire country. Perhaps he could head him off at the proverbial pass.
His cloak fluttered behind him as he took off at full speed for the border. His feet kicked bark off trees, and kicked dirt up in his path. It was a reckless course, but one that would obviously get him there quickly. He moved like a cat through the branches, eventually crossing the river, that made up the border between rain and fire.
