From the Leaf Village gates, Tyro continued to walk at a brisk pace. He took a clearer path, following trails in the southernmost direction he could. It was a mostly straight path, away from civilization and other worrisome things. It let him think as his feet pounded monotonously.
Chuunin Exams....
The four syllable phrase meant so much to him. It was his newest purpose, his newest challenge and defeating it seemed to be his only option. Just for the sake of going to an event where he knew his chances of death were high, he was traveling alone to a country he had never met before. So much effort over something that may well get him killed, but he knew just how much credit he would receive if by some slim chance he survived. If by some odd event he managed to keep his wits about him and not die....
The thoughts continued to spiral in his mind. He made sure to keep his eyes open for any kind of obstruction in his path though. He was still in his territory, but that may have changed very soon. Ninja could be anywhere, and this time he had no fancy gate or Kage to protect him. He was alone.
When he finally saw the sea, he knew he was close. The next sight he saw as he continued walking was a small town, just as he expected. He was going out on a whim when he left the village, but he knew that small fishing towns like these existed all over the coastline, and that meant he could hitch a boat ride. He entered the small town, he wasn't hindered, especially with his current look. Nobody dared question him, only how such a small person could seem so intimidating.
He went straight through the town and to the docks that had several ships ready and waiting. Looking around he found someone that seemed seaworthy. The person he picked seemed quite old, but after some discussion, and a little negotiation, agreed for a trip to the land of the Moon, where the exam was located.
They were to take a merchant ship, he only one the man owned, but gladly it was in good condition and had a sturdy crew. The man was already planning to deliver some cargo to the land of the moon, and could bear the small extra weight of Tyro. The two climbed aboard the ready ship, and the captain explained that Tyro would simply be considered 'precious cargo'. Then, after a rickety start, they made their way to the Land of the Moon
