She made her way onto the ship without problem, her uncle knew her destination which left her free to do what she would until which time they arrived. Her hands had healed from their previous damage and now she wanted to train at least one more technique prior to her arrival in the mystical Land of Waves. She had prepared well. Her world map had been left with her assistant amongst the other papers, along with her last will and testament… just in case. She had also made her purchases but one purchase in particular required a technique to make it act at its full power.
She would begin with the hand seals, familiarizing herself with the short combination as always. One by one she would make her way through the zodiac symbols, learning the needed transitions and implanting them in her memory for future use. She was quite sure this would come in handy at some point during a battle thus she was taking extra care to make sure everything was quite perfect. Again she would form the symbols, taking care to gather her chakra this time, letting it meld with the symbols and thus mold properly for its intended purpose. She measured mentally when the chakra levels were correct before releasing it into her own mind.
Shades of pink danced before her eyes in what was a clear failure. Not everything had changed color nor was it the desired color. It was, in a word, weak. She would not stand for such failed attempts. With determination in her eyes she would begin the hand seals once again while she gathered the mystical energy that was her chakra. Concentration was the key; she would succeed even if it took her the whole trip to do so. Once more she would let the chakra flow, enveloping her own mind and thus inflicting the genjutsu upon herself. This served not only to test the technique but to familiarize herself with the experience should it ever happen to her.
Slowly her eyes began to adjust. What was previously pink darkened into a shade of crimson. Objects did not move or vanish as with some illusions instead she was, as the some would say, seeing red. There was still something not quite right however. The sea around the boat did not change colors, or perhaps her mind just was not processing it. One last time she would perform the zodiac symbols, determined this time she would succeed in her learning of the seemingly harmless technique. Everyone underestimated this technique she was sure but she would take advantage of it, especially the possible combination.
It was if a colored lens had been placed on her eyes. Everything around her projected in a vivid shade of red. She scanned the area to be sure it was everything she saw, not just what was in front of her at the time. Her scanning would prove fruitful however. Everything was a deep crimson red. She dispelled the genjutsu just in time to see land ahead. She refrained from helping as the boat docked. She needed all the energy she could get now that she was there. She was really there. There was no turning back now. She was to close to her goal to give up. With a silent prayer she stepped off the boat.
