The Character

Appearance



His body structure is pretty average seeing as how he is a non taijutsu specialist. With a body mass index of about 23, he is more fit than built, his muscles are only slightly visible and his body has no distinct lines so he can easily be mistaken for a common villager if it were not for the village sign on his head.

He has full long, light to dark brown hair, although it is rarely seen. Light blue eyes, courtesy of his bloodline, that inspire a sense of adventure but also mystery, his skin tone however is also lighter, almost pale, a thing he inherited from his mother.

His facial construction is somewhat warm, but with a touch of mystery and emptiness. His more noticeable facial qualities are his lips that are very thin and seem to always form a slight smile and his misshaped teeth structure that only slightly push his lower jaw forward.

He wares a black hooded long coat that goes all the way to the ground, with the hood mostly always on, covering his hair, a regular black bandit style mask over his face and continued into the long coat, darkened light blue pants and shirt along with long black boots up to the knees and mid-long black gloves covering half of the lower arms.


Personality

Predictable unpredictability in all

He is tricky to figure out, as he is thinking all the time and doing things that might seem random to most people, he is actually rarely, if at all, unpredictable, but his actions to others almost always seem to be random, maybe even mad or mean and so on, but he likes it that way.

Of the knowledge seekers
His main goal is to attain knowledge, and his way allows him to do so by any means while still in comfort, but he dose not take knowledge for what it is, he studies it and molds it, looking for the truth where truth is blurred, before choosing a truth he looks at both sides, then reads the middle, finally braking the coin and putting it back together in his own way.

Of the free
He values freedom above all else, however, he views freedom more flexibly, he will allow himself to take orders and be controlled if he feels there is knowledge to be earned, for earning knowledge is earning freedom.

Of the unkind kindness
For him there is no point in attaining freedom at the expense of someone else's, the more freedom is taken, the less there is to go around, however, if the other seeks not/is not truly free, but has a mere illusion, there is no harm in destroying one's house of mirrors, and even should be done unless there are higher forces in play.

Of the playful

His amusement is playing tricks, even though mostly harmless ones and seemingly pointless, he also likes adding meaning/teachings to them, even if maybe no one will ever know of it, it is as his signature, and he will always at least once have his way with people he meats.

Of the "trusty" companions

With friends he is loyal and kind, he has no problem in diverting his path to help, however, his view of help might differ, and usually dose.

Of the friendly enemies

He hates killing, because he hates leaving things undone and freedom is only appreciated by the living, a lost life is a missed chance to play, therefore he always tries to restrain his enemies and very rarely kills them himself, even if he might be the path of their deaths.


History

Being born in the Rain village as one of the storm callers, Shadow had a pretty pleasant childhood, as is, however he refrained a lot from learning techniques and was a slow and lazy learner in the academy, reason being that it was what others were learning to, and nothing new could come of it.

Ever since he heard the story of his clan, he gained a high admiration for Aeolus, the Storm Master. A man with great ideals and the madness to do the impossible for the greater good despite of what others would think of him if he were to speak of his goal, a man who mastered the storm when all others curled under a stone, but beyond all, a creator.

As his admiration grew, so did his will to learn and create, after his late graduation from the academy he started learning of the shadow perception and was soon drawn to it. He learned and learned, creating all sorts of shapes and objects out of shadows, he knew that this was to be his signature and his goal now is to create a feat worthy of a long and epic memory.

He also learned of other releases and perceptions, but none that that attracted him, he was still a little reluctant to learn something just for the sake of it, until that is, he was out of the village alone on an errand, he past by a small settlement, a fishing village, then out of no where 5 people appeared and started pillaging, he ran over to try to help but he was pretty far away, the he noticed one making hand seals and clones appeared, seemingly kage bunshins, they were shinobi, so he his a watched as the raised the village and stole everything, intervening would be suicide, strangely though, he was fascinated by the power and freedom of the act, even if he was a little disgusted by the fact that they completely overpowered the village and was a pointless and honor-less attack.

He now felt drawn to freedom and power, along with his goal and the will of his own view on good, his path was now set and destiny alone could predict what history would make of him.

Effect: Exploding tags are scraps of paper inscribed with a special writing, centering on the kanji for "explode" (爆, baku). Effect: A Grenade that gives off thick smoke when it explodes; used to make a smoke screen or to mark a position.

Description: Smoke grenades are used as ground-to-ground or ground-to-air signaling devices, target or landing zone marking devices, and screening devices for unit movement. The body is a sheet-steel cylinder with emission holes in the top and bottom. These allow the smoke to be released when the grenade is ignited. Two main types exist, colored smoke (for signaling) and screening smoke. It fills an area radius of 15 meters with thick smoke. The smoke may come in different colors if the user wishes. Different color smoke could be used for information value if need. It takes 6 seconds before it explodes.

These grenades are used to temporally neutralize the combat effectiveness of enemies by usually disorienting their senses. When making contact it releases a flash of light that momentarily activates all light sensitive cells in the eye, making vision impossible for approximately 5 seconds until the eye restores itself to its normal, un-stimulated state. The incredibly loud blast produced by the grenade adds to its incapacitating properties by disturbing the fluid in the ear which also lasts approximately 5 seconds until the ear restores itself to its normal, un-stimulated state. The flash bang has a radius damage of 15 meters. It takes 6 seconds before it explodes.

Description: Each rank of the technique can create a shadow of up to a certain size category from fine to Colossal. At the time of performing the Illusionist chooses whether the shadow created will be a type of equipment or creature. Items created with this GenJutsu are considered to be one-third as real and have one-third the normal strength of the object. There are two types of objects that can be created: Weapons, and Equipment. Weapons created via this GenJutsu are partially real and those who succeed in finding out it is a GenJutsu will still be affected by one third of damage created by the weapon. Those who do not feel that this is a fake will suffer full on attack. Items created have no major significance. They cannot do anything other than look nice or pretty unless they were to harm those who perceive the object such as a stab, or a cut. Creatures shaped are considered one third real with a transparent feel along them. They are one third as strong as a normal creature. Creatures made by this Jutsu have none of the normal qualities such as poisons or helpers. When the user first learns this technique they are only capable of creating objects the size of fine, which is very small and is capable of making just one. When the user learns the "C" Rank of this technique the user is capable of making Diminutive and Tiny objects up to three. When the user learns the "B" Rank of this technique the user is capable of making Small and Medium sized creatures up to five. When the user learns "A" Rank of this technique the user is capable of making Large and Huge Creatures up to seven creatures. When the user learns the "S" Rank of this technique the user is capable of making Gargantuan to Colossal sized creatures up to nine.

Effect: A technique that makes the mind feels as if something comes alive.
Special: "Handseals"
Drawback: The object or creature does not become alive.
Description: User performs the hand seals, and begins to transfer their chakra into the palm of their hands. The user then touches an inanimate object such as books, or even a dead body. The object emits a small amount of chakra within the radius of twenty meters. The people who steps within the chakra are suddenly affected by the GenJutsu as the object or objects become entangled by a shadowy haze as the object comes alive. In real life the object stays on the floor, never to be moved, but to the ones perceiving the GenJutsu. When first learning this technique the object when hit once will dissipate and appear no more, the objects can not attack. When the user learns the "B" rank version of this technique the object or dead corpse may attack with 1/3 of lethal attack, and it may only be just hand to hand combat. The object may be hit a total of three times before the object dissipates and disappears. After that the object may rise once more for a second time.
Limit: Must know the Shadow Perception, Must know Crafted Shadow equal to its size.

Description: Any light that is within the range of this technique that a user may be around will suffer in having five meters of any source of illumination light will be dimmed down. Not the most powerful technique, but a great technique to make one more hidden.

Deadly Darkness

Description: A technique that works within fifty meters in diameter. When this technique is performed, all lights are extinguished as if light simply does not exist. Within the area, the user is able to perform Crafted Shadow in order to attack those that are within the Deadly Darkness technique.

Shadow Conjuration

Effect: User uses the GenJutsu properties of GenJutsu to shape quasi-real illusions of one or more creatures, objects, or forces.

Description: When first learned the user is able to create creatures, objects, and others in a transparent shadow like form the size of small and lower. Shadow conjurations are actually one-fifth (20%) as strong as the real things, though creatures who believe the shadow conjurations to be real are affected by them at full strength. Any creature that interacts with the conjured object, force, or creature can use the normal technique to disable GenJutsu to recognize its true nature. The GenJutsu from a normal Dispel Gen will not get rid of the GenJutsu. Each disbelieving creature takes only one-fifth (20%) damage from the attack. When the user learns the "A" rank version of this technique user is capable of making transparent shadow like forms the size of medium and smaller. The illusory conjurations created deal three-fifths (60%) damage to nonbelievers, and no damaging effects are 60% likely to work against nonbelievers. When the user learns the "S" rank version of this technique user is capable of making transparent shadow like forms the size of large or smaller in an Illusion like form. The illusory conjurations created deal four-fifths (80%) damage to nonbelievers, and no damaging effects are 80% likely to work against nonbelievers. When first learned user is able to make Three small creatures. This doubles when user learns the "A" Rank version, and then triples when user learns the "S" Rank version as the number of Medium is three for A rank, six for "S" Rank and finally just three Large Illusions for the "S" rank learning.

Animate Shadow

Effect: User may create a Shadowy Illusion of them self in a lesser form.

Description: User creates a shadow form of themselves using their own shadow. Form of the Shadow becomes a GenJutsu affecting anyone who stands within fifty meters of the action's premises. The user is capable of having the creature follow the user or stay in place to attack anyone who may come its way. Any attack done by the GenJutsu the user feels the attack, but the attack itself is dimmed down by three ranks. The GenJutsu is only to the people that perceive the Shadow has one fifth of the user's strength. The Animate Shadow is in capable of performing any other type of technique except the basic hand to hand combat that may come along with it. There is no telepathic link that comes with the user and the Animated Shadow. A command must be given, or really must be known before hand. Since This is a form of GenJutsu, the user is able to know when the Shadow as the user himself is under the effects of his own GenJutsu, in which will see his Shadow return.

Lesser Simulacrum

Effect: Simulacrum creates an illusory duplicate of any creature.
Special: "Hand seals"
Drawback: ---
Description: At all times the simulacrum remains under your absolute command. No special telepathic link exists, so command must be exercised in some other manner. A simulacrum has no ability to become more powerful. This is a technique that is perceived into the opponent. User performs the hand seals needed as the opponent, whoever may be around is suddenly affected by this technique. The shadow of the creature affected by the technique rises up from those that are affected, (Maximum of sixty meters radius). The shadow takes the form of the creature affected, as well as the strength, and possibilities. This is considered to be a mimic technique as the Shadow of the creature being affected takes a semi life through the perception of one's mind. The Shadow since it’s the form of the user's mind retains all capabilities that of the one affected but the damage that the body feels is one rank less than a normal attack. The Shadow only forms its counterpart and no one else. The only way to defeat this creature is to defeat them. Since the creature is not real, and it’s within the person's mind, the Shadow figure is only 2/4's of the person perceiving strength.

Shadow Claws
Rank: "C"
Skill: GenJutsu
Effect: A technique that creates a shadow illusion of claws that surrounds the user's hands in order to be used as attacking weapons.
Special: "Hand seals"
Drawback: The claws do now help a user in climbing or stopping weapons. It is only used for attacks because it is still only an illusion.
Description: For the duration of this technique, a nimbus of shadows surrounds the user's hands, giving them the appearance of monstrous black claws. User may make melee touch attacks to channel the chill power of shadow into a target. If the opponent is hit, the opponent suffers a sudden chill in their attack and feels quite weakened. When hit, the opponent then hits with reduced power as well, reducing all attacks by half a rank. If the opponent’s highest attack is reduced until their attack becomes "D" Rank worth of power, the opponent then becomes paralyzed equal to the amount of times they were hit. This means that it would take a user who knows up to "B" rank techniques an amount of 6 hits before they become paralyzed, 8 hits for those who can perform "A" rank techniques, and 10 hits for those who can perform "S" rank techniques. If this technique is dispelled then the reduction is reduced to where an attack is reduced by 1/3 of a rank.
