Genin Exam II: Greenhouse of the Dead [P]

Amegakure no Sato, renown for its advanced metropolis setting, has a number of private cemeteries. A few of the owners have died or disappear, leaving no one to take care of the burial sites. One of these cemeteries has cause for worry. Graves are being dug up and none of the neighbors know what happened to the bodies. At night, mist fills the grounds and the culprit cannot be caught by the searching civilians. Coincidentally, reports have stated activity in a nearby greenhouse, abandoned since a few years ago and now in ruins. Who has defiled the graves of the honored fallen? And what is the culprit seeking to do? Does this greenhouse have anything to do with it? Genin of Amegakure, you are ordered to get to the bottom of this.

The knowledge of why anyone willed to dig up a grave was unbeknownst to me. Was there some kind of legendary item? Or perhaps a treasure of sorts? Either way, my mission was to come here and find out the problem - whatever it was. According to the intelligence released to us (me and whomever else was assigned the mission), a strange mist filled the graveyard at night (which was when the culprit made his move, I presumed), and disappeared when he was finished, leaving the neighbors clueless as to who the criminal was. From what I knew from my employers, I assumed that the culprit was some sort of shinobi, or a being that had knowledge of shinobi arts, but there was always the possibility that my assumption was incorrect. No matter - - only time would tell.

My arrival into the area had been orchestrated by the shuffling of my feet and though my pace wasn't extremely slow, I wouldn't gain any gold medals for my speed neither. My eyes danced around the area, looking for anything at all, most notably the people who was to meet me here. As the graveyard crumbled beneath my iron steps, in the near distance would I see another being. I approached him from his south (rear), and as I drew within a few feet, words would escape their luscious prison.

"Here for the dug up graves, I presume?"

Saitoshi hurried, he had gotten carried away with his training and now he was worried that he was going to miss the rendezvous with the fellow Ninja that he was to be tested with. He made his way quickly through the bustle of the streets of the Amegakure, occasionally taking the high road and making his way across the roofs of some of the lower buildings. Saitoshi knew that he could not fail this test; he wouldn’t be able to bare the shame of returning to his father without passing. But instead of deterring him, this thought drove him onwards. There was no way known that he was going to return to his father with any other news than that of his success.

Upon reaching the graveyard he quickly found himself some cover behind a tree amongst some overgrown hedges. This business of defiling the bodies of the deceased was most foul. The bodies of those that had lived and died with honour, even if they were the bodies of your most hated enemy, should always be treated with respect. That was one of the first things his father had taught him. He could feel his anger towards those that were responsible for this staring to rise, but just as quickly he calmed himself.

Anger and hatred can be just as crippling as fear or uncertainty. It the heat of a mission a Shinobi cannot afford to have his judgement compromised.

Kojiro had imparted many pearls of wisdom onto his son, and he in turn treasured each one. He presumed that his companions were already here and had sought cover of their own. Saitoshi peered through the hedges, trying to spot an area where they may have been hiding. Knowing that they would probably look for an area where they would have maximum visibility of their surroundings, while covering themselves as much as possible. He spotted another area where the bushes had been neglected and started to grow wild.

That is where I would wait, he thought to himself. Lets try out this new ability. Saitoshi activated his Fuukamanako and gazed over to where he thought his companions would be hiding, but was disappointed to see only the flow of the elements through the plants themselves. Maybe they hadn’t arrived; or worse still there was a flaw in his logic as to where they would be hiding. As he was about to take his gaze away he noticed something. There was a greater influx and output of Wind around where he had been looking than there was in the crops of fauna elsewhere in the graveyard. He suddenly was struck with an idea and looked down at his own breath.

It’s the same disturbance! While not quite as intense, probably because of the distance he was viewing it at, but it was the same. His companions, or at least one of them, were hiding in those bushes. Casually he made his way out of the bushes and played with the fly on his pants, hoping that any unwanted onlookers would think that he had been merely relieving himself and strolled just as casually over near the bushes and knelt down to examine a grave stone. Saitoshi still wasn’t certain if he was being watch and didn’t want to give away his companions if his was.

”Did you see anybody following or watching me?” he asked loud enough to be heard by whomever was in the bush, but not turning to face the bushes. At the same time, however, he held a kunai knife on the side of his body facing away from the person, or people, in the bush. There was no such thing as being too careful he believed…

A silent snicker would come from the shadows within the greenhouse. Shinobi, were they? A cackle followed. Long fingers would delicately maneuver themselves over the controls. The clouds above thundered as mist started to fill the graveyard. Indeed, it was not thick, yet it would serve as a forewarning for anyone who dared to walk upon these grounds.

The silent and careful Toshiie, watching the graveyard, would be the first to feel the wrath of the dead. Searching through the graves and investigating, yet he had not done a good enough job of it. Indeed, hiding in that place would be his bane as the fauna that was hiding him would be suddenly uprooted. 6 whips of thick vine would burst from the ground and start flinging themselves at him from all directions. Escape would be difficult, as Toshiie would find his feet bound by vines as well, with a half decomposed face modified with plants staring right up at him from the ground. The vines will slowly grow in ferocity and speed and the thorns will start to rip your skin apart, and given a long enough time, your muscles as well. Counter this wisely, and you shall taste victory.

The late Saitoshi would find himself in trouble as well. An large earthen figure, twice the size of a full grown man, would burst out beneath the nearby gravestones. Waking from its deep slumber, it would slam the ground with its great arms and fists, boasting its great strength. Getting hit would mean injury. Fixated upon the young Sansutomu, it began to go after him, raising his deadly weapons, his fists, to attack. Yet even within his large earthen armor, a weak point may be visible. Let your blood roar, young warrior of the Storm.

For Kamitsuke, there would be no opponent. Yet you are given a problem potentially more difficult than one. A decision must be made. Choose. Will you help the bound Kaguya who is being attacked by a number of deadly vines? Or will you choose to fight with the Sansutomu against an overwhelming force?

From inside the greenhouse, he would snicker with overjoyed laughter. This would a show to see.

The words had barely escaped Saitoshis lips before he thought he felt the earth underneath him move. As the tremor grew he knew that he was imagining nothing and leapt backwards into the air as the ground under where he had knelt moments ago exploded. Saitoshi flung the kunai that he had readied in his off hand at the thing that was coming up from the ground. The kunai hit the thing where its throat would have been, but it didn’t seem to even notice. Saitoshi had his kanabo out before his feet touched the ground, but was forced to roll to the left as soon as he had landed. The golem’s fist’s pounded the earth and Saitoshi barely avoided the strike. He immediately leap out of the thing’s reach, trying to give himself a chance to formulate a plan.

In the corner of his vision, Saitoshi saw the bushes where he had seen the air distortion come alive. An older boy was entangled in the animated fauna and Saitoshi spotted what he presumed was the other member of his team, a tall, black haired boy a little older than himself. The older one, with the garish orange sunglasses, seemed to struggle against it for a moment before he visually calmed and formed a single hand seal.

Rat.

Before Saitoshis eyes this boy started to melt and then suddenly his body slid through the leafy tentacles that held his body seconds earlier.

Was that… Hamon? Sure enough Saitoshi saw a puddle slide out from the bushes. Having escaped the vine, it allowed the three of them a chance be rid of this earthen golem and then plan a strategy to infiltrate the greenhouse. Where is he going?!

To Saitoshi’s amazement, he saw the puddle go straight past him and head off in the direction of the greenhouse. What was he thinking? Having had the element of surprise turned on them, the three of them were at a serious disadvantage. This enemy was quite obviously powerful, having summoned a golem from the bowls of the earth was an impressive feat in and of itself, and was also at least one step ahead of them and that fool was going to give a further advantage to them by splitting they’re power?

Did he skip every lesson of basic strategy?! Saitoshi barely dodged another thundering blow from the golem because he was distracted by the utter disbelief of his ‘comrades’ ‘tactics’. Is he a coward, heartless, or just plain stupid? Abandoning comrades ever before you are properly introduced to them is not the best way to start off a professional relationship.

As he dodged another blow from the creature, he centred himself and focused on the problem at hand.

”Shinobi!” he yelled to the other member of his team. ”It seems our friend has a bit of a God complex! I presume that you are here for the same reason as I, this business with the graves.” He was purposefully leading the creature away from the other boy so that he might buy them a bit of time. ’I suggest we dispose of this creature and then decide how we are going to tackle the greenhouse!” Saitoshi gauged the distance between himself and the golem and then between him and the other boy and decided that he was far enough away.

He slung his kanabo swiftly behind his back and closed his eyes. Saitohsi formed a hand seal while concentrating his chakra behind his eyes.

Rat.

“HIRAMEKI!” As his eyes shot open he expelled the chakra out through them and there was a blinding flash. Saitoshi wasn’t sure if this technique would work on the golem, so he wasted no time powering his way over to the other boy. As he was running he closed his eyes and gathered his chakra once more. “FUUMANAKO!”.

With his Doujutsu activated Saitoshi slid to a halt and turned his gaze upon the creature.

Before the man before me could respond to my question, threats materialized from the kingdom of gaia. Thick whip-like vines - six in total - sprouted from beneath and all around, thrashing out wildly toward the crouched figure with thorns that would scathe even the hardest of metals. On the other side of me, the other boy was in danger, for an earthen golem had been conjured from the dirt. At first thought, it would've been better to help with the vines, for they could be dispatched quicker than the giant golem. It came time for me to choose - aid the vine's prey, or tackle gaia's creation - however, my decision was made that much easier as the Kaguya escaped the grasp of the vines via changing into a puddle of water. It was a noteworthy technique, one that I would be sure to dabble in at a later date.

For now however, my focus would be on conquering the giant. With my partner (Saitoshi) standing beside me, my hands quickly jabbed at my side, where they would return with two kunai, a single in each. "Get ready to strike", I cooed, waiting for my opportunity to attack. As the golem's arms raised, chakra within would begin to bubble and manifest its' will in the power of Zues. From within did electrical energies conjure - birthed from my inner efficacy - and latch on to my blades, where the electrical charges would fuel the damage of my knives. With its' arms raised in the air, both my kunai would be thrown with a master's sense of accuracy and grace, aiming directly under the minion's arms (arm pit area).

If connected, the two blades would most likely pierce through the earthen armor, due to their grasp of the element earth dare not conquer - lightning. Where they were aimed, the kunai would most likely become lodged into the arm pit area, hindering any more movement from the golem's upper appendages, leaving them locked in place. Coupled with the golem's weakness, the kunai would also serve to shock the beast, slightly paralyzing it for a moment.

Description: The user holds as many kunai/shuriken, or metal projectile for that matter, as they can, up to 5 slots in their hands, and charges them with electricity. Extra lightning damage is added which will slightly paralyze or numb. The projectiles will shock the opponent weakly even if they don't make contact, but at least come close to.
Limit: Lightning release.

Hoho...the decrepit man inside laughed as he watched their reactions on a screen. This was starting to become entertaining. Fingers hovering above controls, the puppetmaster would up the difficulty of his game as he reacted to the Ame-nin's moves with an amused eye.

First, that Hamon kid, he thought. Having lived in this village for so long, how could he not know that technique? That plant-like undead was not out of the picture yet. It was thirsty, very thirsty. Tunneling through the ground, it would disappear from the cemetery. As Toshiie sneaked into the greenhouse, the man would burst out laughing. Separated from his allies and not taking into account his environment? The man could not ask for a better target. While the cameras could not locate the puddle, the inhabitants here could do it themselves. From a deep slumber the undead's kin would awake. After all, this was a greenhouse, was it not? Under cover of the darkness within the building, their roots would rise into the air and lash at the unsuspecting puddle of water. The number of attacks were far greater than what the previous zombie could do. There is hope yet, as there is an small tube nearby that you could travel through. But it has yet to be discovered underneath some rubble and you know not where it leads to. Additionally, a faint ray of light to your right signals an exit out of this horrid nightmare. For the brave one who traveled into enemy territory alone, what will you do?

The man then turned his attention to the outside. Indeed, that Hirameki would blind the Golem, but only for a bit. But it was enough for Kamitsuke's Raiton charged kunai to hit. Wistfully stroking his chin, the man would turn his attention to the attacker. He seemed to be hiding something, but had some ability. The arms would stop, but would suddenly fall off. The golem would then undergo a metamorphosis of sorts. From his earthen armor, two new pairs of arms would arise, though thinner than the original arms. The body would shift and take a spider-like stance. The strange appearance hid the new mobility the golem possessed. It would then head for the one who attacked it with a burst of speed. Uchiha, how will you defend from the relentless undead attacks? For the partner who is not being attacked, it would be wise to use what your eyes can see to locate the golem's weakness.

Tickled with joy, the man would lay back on his chair, watching the screen with fixed amusement.

Saitoshi barely had time to look at the golem through the Fuukamanako before his companion launched two kunai knives at it. Through the Fuukamanako he could see that the other boy had infused them with lightning, increasing the damage that they did when the struck home in the golems armpits. The thing howled, though no sound came from it the wild trashing of it’s body and limbs indicated the that his companion had injured it.

Saitoshi concentrated and searching the golem’s body through his Doujutsu. He watched the flow of the elements through it to try and locate a weak point, but with the golem’s trashing it was hard to see anything.

Had this giant creature really been felled by two kunai knives?

Suddenly the golem stopped and before Saitoshi’s eyes started to fall apart. The arms that had so violently struck the ground were shedding pieces of dirt and eventually fell of all together, hitting the ground limply with a thud. Saitoshi started to re-evaluate their opponent. Obviously he, or she, couldn’t have been that strong if their monster had been destroyed by two kunai. He was about to turn and thank his companion for his assistance when he noticed something within the golem. Being new to the powers of the Fuukamanako, he could be sure but he was pretty certain that the flow of the element should have halted in the creature when it was destroyed, not increased.

Suddenly the earthen monster started to spasm, and the flow of the elements changed. Two new streams of water and lightning flowed out from the centre of the things chest and it arched backwards, until its head almost touched the ground. Four arms, thinner than the last two, exploded out of it’s upper body and it’s head spun one hundred and eighty degrees. Now it resembled something more like a demonic spider. Something caught his eye, a bright flicker that appeared at the bottom of its chest (now its back) as the thing turned to face them. Saitoshi charged and before the thing had fully turned, launched himself over it, focusing on where he thought he had seen the flicker. There it was again, a chink in the proverbial armour. It looked like a combination of water and lightning infused chakra was animating this thing and that there was a gap in its thick earthen armour when it bent backwards like this that the flow could be attack directly through, though because of the angle, it was only visible from behind.

The golem had seemed to be targeting him earlier, so he expected it to turn to follow him again as he landed on the other side of it from his companion, but it didn’t. Instead it seemed to have changed its priority target to the other boy, perhaps because of his earlier attack. His mind raced, trying to formulate a strategy. Saitoshi nodded to himself, satisfied with the plan.

”SHINOBI! he yelled across to the other boy. ”Can you keep this golem occupied? I think I’ve located a weak point so I’ll try to mark it with a kunai knife! If you have any strong Lightning Techniques, attack my kunai with them once it’s struck home!" If he was right, and the thing was being animated through Water and Lightning, a strong Lightning technique would overload the creatures artificially created chakra circulatory system and destroy the thing… he hoped.

Saitoshi drew a kunai and charged, launching himself into the air over the top of the spider-golem. He focused, zeroing in on the spot where he could see the bright stream of the elements.

Smile upon me, Lady Luck. he thought as he launched his kunai. It struck home, right in the gap of the armour he had been aiming for and as he landed, closer to his companion, he saw the thing buck up. He’d hit the right spot, now would the rest of his strategy work?

Eyes thinned to see how my attack would fare against such a being. With lightning laced around their metallic frame, they would easily pierce through the golem, and coupled with my efficiency at throwing weapons made this game child's play. The golem's arms stopped as my kunai intruded within its' most sacred area, and then would proceed to do something completely unexpected, yet amusing in its' own right.

The arms that I had struck was dislodged from gaia's minion; they fell to the ground with a 'thud'. Surprisingly, during their descent the earthen-made creature would sprout two new sets of appendages in their place, albeit these were much skinner than the previous. It seemed this creature had a few tricks up its' sleeve, but it mattered little. The manifestation of the new arms had brought about another transformation - flipping its' torso around, the golem's appearance now mirrored that of a spider.

It was useless to me. It only meant I'd need destroy six arms instead of two.

From the side, the other shinobi spoke. He spoke of the weakness of the creature, and how he planned to mark the spot with a kunai so that I could hit it with a raiton charged technique and overload the creature. To put it plainly- it sounded good. If that was all it would take, then surely the golem should have simply stayed in hibernation and let us complete our mission. If the plan didn't work, I could always destroy the creature my own way, but shinobi of the same village were supposed to trust one another (especially partners], and so I would.

Unfortunately, the only powerful raiton technique (that was notable) that I possessed was one that would render this whole green house to oblivion, so I would modify the plan just a bit.

The golem charged forward, moving at an increased speed from its' previous form. Unfortunately, its' departure was the signal for my partner to go as well. He leaped over the creature, aimed, and launched the kunai. To be honest, I had my doubts that it would hit, but it did, and the golem buckled up for a second. Regardless, its' dash continued, and as it roamed within a few feet, my hands would travel to my sides once again, capturing two items once more.

The first - another kunai.

The second - an exploding tag.

Grace took control over my hands as they worked their magic -- quickly wrapping the tag around my kunai, chakra would electrify my weapon once more. My partner's kunai was nothing like a needle in a haystack, and was easily visible despite my movements. If he had hit, surely I would. My skill in weapon throwing was significantly greater than his, due to my training in the art of utilizing the senbon. And as I caught sight of my target, I launched the knife toward my target.

Like he had asked, raiton would enter the creature's system. Whether it would do as my partner thought or not, a single seal would render the golem powerless, as an explosion would come from the inside and destroy the creature as a whole.

Still in puddle form, Toshiie would ignore the attacks. However, the mastermind behind this knew better. Was this a simple greenhouse? No. Could anybody expect things to be as 'normal' as they were in this village, with all of its dark and bloody history? The plants would continue pounding at Toshiie and the floor would collapse, sending him straight down into pitch black darkness. The man would smile. This one had assumed too much and to him seemed rather overconfident. Toshiie would land in a cage, one that water would not be able to slip through. The walls were high and made of metallic alloy, though the darkness made it difficult to see, though there would be some visibility for the Kaguya to see with. The previous plant-like golem that had emerged at the cemetery would then come flying down, landing in the makeshift caged arena. With a diameter of ten meters, this would be do or die for the Kaguya. The plant like being had figured out that this puddle of water was its former prey, thanks to the old man's commands. It would start striking at it, regardless of whether it did damage or not.

Outside, the battle raged on. Yet the Sansutomu was finally able to make use of his talents. However, though he correctly found the weakness of the golem, it was through the wrong reasons. Looking plainly at the earthen zombie, it was clear that it was merely earth. Yet due to the flow of electricity that had come earlier from Kamitsuke's attack and the ability of the Storm's Eye to see not only the movement of lightning and water, but also that of 'wind', the location of the weakness would be made plain. The kunai with an explosion tag would ring true, as a explosion signaled the internal crumbling of the golem. It would thrust out its arms in a threatening manner before finally making its fall.

Now that the first enemy had been finished, the path to the greenhouse is wide open. Yet upon reaching it, the fact that there are berserk vines ripping the place apart and a rather large hole in the ground welcome you to the bastion of darkness. If one of you were to analyze the hole, you would find that the greenhouse would actually have several underground floors beneath it. How will you deal with the plants that your comrade had previously enraged? And will you be able to locate his location within the darkness?

As the golem exploded from the inside, spraying crumps of earth and dirt, Saitoshi admonished himself. He should have thought of using a kunai with a tag on it himself. If he had there would have been no need for a follow up attack from his companion. Sometimes Saitoshi found himself looking for a more complicated solution than was necessary, a bad habit that he needed to work on.

With the threat of the golem now gone there was no time to waste. They still needed to get inside the greenhouse where people had reported seeing activity and put an end to all this business. Their adversary had proven himself quite capable and at the moment it seemed that he also held all of the cards in this game. Then there was the matter of the other shinobi who had disappeared at the beginning of the battle.

Saitoshi scanned the surroundings for his two kunai knives, but was only able to locate one; the other must have been lost during the explosion. Saitoshi turned to his companion.

”Thank you for your assistance.” Saitoshi held out his hand towards the other boy. The boy was about four inches taller than Saitoshi, but not nearly as powerfully built, with long black hair and fair skin and appeared to be a little older than Saitoshi. ”I am Sansutomu no Sagura Saitoshi and I’d suggest we find some cover and decided how best to infiltrate the greenhouse and accomplish our objective. Also, we should decide what to do about our friend who seemingly fled us earlier.”

The fruits of my tactic would nurture our fortune as the golem was destroyed from the inside out. The explosion surely would have destroyed my kunai, but I longed to find my other two. There was nothing I hated more than going to the item shop just to buy basic items as such. Thankfully, the boy before, Sagura Saitoshi, managed to return one of them to me, and I would nod in appreciation.

"Kamitsuke Li", I replied in response to his statement. As I finished however, a booming crash could be heard from the inside of the green house, and only meant one of two things: 1) either the ceilings had come crashing down somewhere inside, or 2) the ground had collapsed within. Either way, we would need to be cautious as we headed in. I had contemplated taking cover to discuss our approach before heading in, but a flash would excrete from within. Although it was quick, it was more than enough for me to see the battalion of vines lurking inside.

If the Sansutomu was facing the green house as I was, he would have surely noticed the light as well. More or less, the booming sound, coupled with the blinding flash insured that something had ensued inside and perhaps our lost partner was in danger. And if such was true, there was no time to waste.

"Surely, you've took notice of the crash and the light, Saitoshi -kun? There is no time to waste -- yet we must be careful in our approach."

Chakra would adorn the very pit of my silhouette, and I would begin my infiltration of the green house with a chakra enhanced leap. I would fly through the air and land upon the walls of the green house - if not the top. Chakra would continue to cress my feet in order to keep me glued to the glass. Surely, Saitoshi would be behind me, and together we would proceed to an ideal spot to observe what the abandoned structure held within.

Due to our positioning, we would receive a slight glint of light from the moon, which I would be sure to utilize. It wasn't much, but it allowed me sight of rather large hole in the ground. It was too dark to see anything else, but perhaps those eyes of the Sansutomu would have better luck.

The light bomb would be a great diversion for the young Kaguya to escape his lowly prison. Indeed, he would gain enough time to start his climb on. Yet when he was about to reach the top, a trap would activate, courtesy of the evil old man. Small, but sharp knives, five of them, would suddenly shoot out from the wall, aiming right at Toshiie. One would aim for his head and the others at his general bodily area. The distant moon, hidden behind the clouds, would fortunately shine right at this moment, giving you just a fraction of a second more to respond thanks to the reflection. Your climb should still be successful, yet you forget the hordes of the giant undead vines that fill this greenhouse. They will be upon you the moment you climb back onto the floor. For those who carry powers of legends in their occuli, your infiltration of the greenhouse, with no obstacles to stop you, is successful. However the difficult part is in being here. Having been abandoned for quite a few years, plants fill the building. As it is natural for vines to climb upon walls, reaching even the ceilings, would it be so unnatural for these experimented plant-life to do the same? Be it wall or ceiling, there really is no 'safe' place for the two of you to be in the moment you enter. Time is of the essence, as the plants will be on you in a second and the rubble show that there are no stairs. How will you react, knowing that you and your allies are danger and that the only way to go is down?

"Surely, you've took notice of the crash and the light, Saitoshi -kun? There is no time to waste -- yet we must be careful in our approach."

”Indeed, we’d best make haste.” They set off quickly towards the warehouse, Saitsohi watching their surroundings through his Doujutsu least another creature of the earth decided to intercept them, but it was becoming more difficult to see through the Fuukamanako because as the mist around them grew in density, his vision was becoming increasingly clouded. It was becoming harder to see through the Water suspended in the air around him because the chakra ribbons he saw its flow as were becoming more opaque.

Their foot steps were cushioned by the wet grass and soil under foot which aided them in concealing their approach. Kamitsuke showed himself to be swifter than Saitoshi on foot, reaching the greenhouse first and without missing a beat leaping up onto the glass panelling that made up the structure. Saitoshi followed suit, channelling his chakra to the soles of his feet as he launched himself up. His chakra held him to the smooth glass as he powered his way up the vertical surface and onto the roof.

Saitoshi made his way over to Kamitsuke, who was crouched a little further up using the reflection of the moon to spy down into the structure. An inky blackness filled the interior of the greenhouse, but that proved no problem for Saitoshi. Through the Fuukamanako the interior of the structure appeared to Saitoshi as though he were looking through a strange kaleidoscope with coloured, chakra-like ribbons representing Wind, Water and Lightning allowing Saitoshi a different sort of night vision, and unlike the graveyard, the mist was not impeding his vision.

”It looks as though our companion is being kept company in that pit by one of the vine creatures.” Saitoshi could see him making his way up the side of the pit. The creature seemed to have been stunned, it’s tentacle like vines lazily swinging through the air at no particular target, and Saitoshi supposed that the bright flash that they had seen earlier had been given off by a light bomb. ”He’s making his way up the side, but the interior of the greenhouse is over run with those vines. He’ll be set upon the moment he reaches the top.” Saitoshi’s mind was racing trying to formulate a strategy and because of this he didn’t see the disturbance in the flow of Wind in the pit until it was too late. Five daggers streaked towards the older boy climbing up the wall. He managed to avoid or deflect most of them, even catching one in his free hand, but the final dagger struck home, lodging itself in his shoulder blade.

”He needs our help now!” Saitoshi fought to keep his mind unclouded, but when lives were on the line Saitoshi found that it was harder to keep calm than it had proven in training. ”My Kanabo is not going to prove much use against these things and I have no Katon techniques to burn these abominations, but my Raikyuu should prove effective in paralysing them.” If the light bomb had stunned that vine creature in the pit and his Hirameki had disorientated the earth golem earlier, then it stood to reason that any of their techniques would provide the intended effects. ”If you have any Katon techniques, you can use them to reduce these things to ashes while I provide support and slow them down with Raikyuu. What ever we do, we need to act quickly.”

The information that was observed through the Sansutomo's eyes would be revealed to me through Saitoshi's words. It seemed our lost comrade was indeed in danger from threats all around. The fact that undead vines plagued the interior of the building was no mystery to me, but the same creature we had battled, and defeated outside, joined the party as well. Although it was too dark to see, the powers of the Strom's Eye was great, and its' wielder provided me with all the information I needed.

From the roof of the green house would shards make their descent, smashing through the glass roof with a monstrous stomp. Almost simultaneously did my hands' dance amongst once another, and like it had done so many times before ruptured my chakra. I inhaled deeply, filling my gullet with oxygen and chakra as I did so. My descent into the undead den would be made soon enough, but first I would soften up the camp before my invasion was fully put into motion. A simple exhale would release a moderate sized gout of fire toward the green house residents.

The glint of the moon was more than enough for me to locate a general population of vines, and that was where my flame shower would begin, and as others came into view, the flame would be sure to meet their existence.
