Forest of Ennostiel (rebirth)
Days of wondering through the forest filled with silence and mist. It seemed like a graveyard for the lost souls in the forest. A slight whisper off in the distance hidden behind the mist was haunting the young Erynion. It was a scene that truly sent chills up ones arm. Not even having to glance at his loyal friend, he could tell she was bothered by the scene. A low growl rumbled from deep within her lungs. However, Nion kept his composure. When most people would rush for their lives to exit this haunted forest, Nion rested. He was not bothered by the sights and sounds that surrounded him. At least, he didn't allow it to show if he was. Growing up he heard many tales of this part of the forest and those who faced it for many hours (which was few) were considered the bravest of the brave. Hopefully his name would be added to that list. For now, this place would be his private sanctuary.
It was time to leave his mark with the greats! Before glancing down at Anariel, he pulled off his light hoodie and placed it thrown over a low tree branch. As soon as it wrapped around the branch, a cool breeze blew over the land bringing even more mist to the scene. The feeling of being watched took over him, he had to impress the spirits. Giving a slight nod to Anariel she automatically knew the drill. The two had become so well in sync with one another that just a simple glance and they could understand what one meant without words. Each knee was barely bent before he made a backwards leap. Thus, concealing himself in the mist. It was up to her nose to sniff him out. Timing was a very important key factor.
Suspension filled his body as he tried to connect his soul with nature. Directing the chakra flow through out his body as he cleared his mind. He was giving in to the nature that surrounded him. Hoping that it would lend him the skills needed to surpass those before him. Slowly and very quietly he walked around staying hidden in the mist while channeling his chakra until he sense the flow was in sync. Also, he reached his chakra out of his body as well. Seeking it refuge in a nearby log that resting against a tree stump. This was a lot to do while still trying to anticipate the move his friend was planning to make. However, he was mentally training to keep his focus. A plus to being a hunter for all those years.
Like a random sighting of a ghost, Anariel leaped out of the mist nearly slicing the shirt clean off Nion's chest. A split second later, the claws would have swept through his shirt. While he spotted her at the last second, he tried to perform the handseals to replace his body with the log that was resting. However, he was late on catching the movement so he messed up. Failure would not repeat it's self. That he was certain. Once again he squared off with nothing but the mist and whispers that seemed to be getting closer with each breath he took. Some how he kept his focus and continued to channel his chakra.
His heart was pounding silently deep within his body as he kept his knees slightly bent just in case he needed to make a desperate leap out of harms way. Finally, he could feel himself become one with nature. It was like everything around was a cell and he was the nucleus. Everything was one. Thankfully too, because not a moment to soon another attack was launched at his back side. However, he was already on top of the move before Anariel's feet even left the ground. Swift hands was the key to this brief moment as the performed a short row of handseals that he finished in only a second. Before the quick claws could even near him a small grind flickered across his face as smoke appeared.
As the smoke cleared Anariel looked down at the target she had struck so successfully, only to find out it was a log. The log that once rested against the tree was no longer their. Instead, it laid helplessly on the ground with four deep cut marks across it. Just by the look of the log Nion was glad that strike missed. How strong had Anariel become?! Was all he could think about as he leaned up against the tree now in the place of the log. He wanted for Anariel to sniff him out again.
