Character Depth
Personality:
Xin is a very calm and laid back ninja that usually only engages in battle when it looks like things are getting pretty bad for his teammates, or if he thinks he's going to get a good fight. He doesn't joke around too much about anything and is usually found in his room sharpening a kunai or reading a novel, unless he's out training.
Xin is not that good about social situations and usually when talked to gives blank stares or one worded replies. He feels he has a certain advantage over his fellow ninjas because of his hard training as a child, which leads many of his peers to think of him as arrogant at times.
Xin doesn't boast or jeer about battles he's won, or any achievements he's accomplished. Xin also doesn't take defeat to well, and is known to train for months on in when he loses to another ninja. Although Xin believes alot in teamwork in order to complete missions and plays his part as he sees fit, never truly over exerting himself unless the situation calls for it.
Although he doesn't form to many, Xin likes to have bonds with people that he can trust in and rely on to be there for him.
But he tries not to show emotion to companions, so as to not show weakness; although, this does not mean Xin doesn't attempt to show a little emotion in order to get along with people at times. And actually he tempts to get a little ahead of himself with the happiness.
Around enemies, Xin is strictly bussiness and will never be seen joking around or laughing at their face. Even when Xin sees that he has a fight in the bag, he acts very serious and focused on the battle. He shows respect to everyone he fights, and usually carries the respect he shows to opponents to many elders in the village.

Appearance:
Xin's face is oval shaped until it reaches his pointed chin, and his skin is smooth and pale. Xin has blue eyes that are slightly large and slanted. Xin's eyes are piercing yet gentle and reflect his calmness. Xin has long full hair that comes down only to the end of his neck, that is parted and neatly-combed.
He has two tendrils that act as bangs that come over his headband. Xin's Hair is jet black. At his young age, Xin has no facial hair except for very slight stubble at the chin. Other wise he is clean-shaven. Whenever outside of his home Xin wears his village headband with the symbol of the leaf. In his left ear Xin has a small black earring. Also Xin wears a ring on his right hand that was given to him by his father.
Usually Xin's casual attire consists of black slender pants that are made of cotton and a black blazer with a white collared shirt underneath. Background:
Xin was born into a family of three. His mother Tanaka Hide, his father Tanaka Ren, and his sister Tanaka Junko. Xin's sister, Junko, is 5yrs older than Xin. When they were both young their father went off to fight in the war, leaving Xin, Junko and their mother in the village alone. Xin's father was an accecptable ninja and was one of the revered of the village. But after two years had past since he left for the war, he did not return.
Hide and Junko were devastated, and they believed Ren to be dead. However, Xin refused to believe that his father was gone for good. Every day Xin would ask around the village if there was any word about his father, if anyone had seen or heard from his squad, but he recieved no luck. Two months passed when one of Ren's teammates Taji returned to the Leaf Village. Xin hounded him for answers expecting some good news. Taji looked down at Xin with an expression full of sorrow, out of his pocket he pulled a ring, one Xin knew belonged to his father, that had "Ninja" in kanji etched into the cold silver in red.
From that day on Xin looked after his mother and sister with his life to make sure that no one would take them from him like his father was. Then one night an assassin broke into Xin's home and attempted to kill Xin's sister Junko. But Xin refused to have his sister that he cared for so much be killed in cold blood. Xin grabbed a kunai from his father's old dresser and confronted the assassin. The assassin held Junko around the throat with the edge of a knife at her neck.
Xin screamed and charged at the assassin. Caught off guard the assassin was taken to the floor by Xin. The two went into a scramble, and the assassin slashed down at Xin's face that left a cut that ran down from his eyebrow to his cheek. In a wild flurry Xin slashed and jabbed until the assassin no longer moved. Xin's mother, Hide, ran into the room hearing all the commotion and let out a terrible scream.
Xin looked down at the assassin that he killed. The assassin that tried the murder Junko... the one that attempted to take care of Xin just moments ago... was his father Ren. After that night Xin saw the world in a different way, and learned to put his trust in no one, and to put his love into no one. Because the world of ninja is that of war and murder. Xin became self reliant and knew that the only person he must worry of is himself, that way he would prevent from being hurt by the complications of relationships.
