It was certainly tiring, this type of training. However, Logi was getting results. He was now able to run somewhat properly even with the weights on, it would do wonders when he took them off. However, he wasn't done with the rice farm just yet. He had to take it up a notch. Looking around, Logi saw a few big rocks laying around the muddy field. After some more scavenging, he also found some hemp rope. Combining the two, Logi tied the rocks to his legs. This was like adding more weights, but ghetto style. Once again standing at the edge of the muddy rice farm, Logi picked up the rocks and threw them into the mud. A few seconds later, he stepped in it himself. Surprise surprise, Logi once again sunk shin deep into the mud.
He wasn't really going to do anything new. Logi was just planning to repeat the exercises he was doing before, but this time the rocks would make it much harder. Taking a sprinters stance, Logi once again dashed towards the other end of the rice farm. It wasn't even a second before he found himself face first in the mud. Damn this training, now he was all dirty. Getting up, Logi figured that he had tried to move the rock too fast. Instead of dashing for the other end of the rice field, he tried to jog this time. Sure enough, the rocks tied to his feet budged eventually. It was hard work, but at least he was getting somewhere. A few hours of this and he should be ready to do some sprinting. It was amazing how a body adapts to circumstances, and even more amazing how a person could use that to their advantage.
A few slow hours passed by, and Logi was still running. His legs were beyond tired, but he would rather die than not finish this technique. The rice field was a mess, and it was all his fault. However, Logi being Logi, he didn't really care. The owner still hadn't returned and Logi could train till he did. After somewhat getting the hand of jogging back and forth with giant rocks attached to his legs, Logi got another idea. Since this technique was all about short bursts of incredible speeds, the training would probably work better if Logi concentrated on gaining the ability to release all of his speed in short bursts. With the rocks still attached to his feet, Logi got out of the muddy field, and began to run back and forth on normal ground.
It was easier than in the rice field, for sure. But being on flat ground allowed him to practice his footing much better than mud ever would. Logi now stood at one end of a small grassy strip that was around 20 meters long. It ran along the side of the rice field, and seemed as if it would make a perfect place to train. Taking the sprinters stance once again, Logi dashed for the other end of the grassy strip. It was hard work and the rocks hardly even budged even though Logi was putting all off his strength into it. What was he doing wrong? That's when he remembered something. Earlier, when Logi was reading the scroll, he noted that most of the strength should come from his feet and ankles.
Going back to the start of the grassy strip, Logi would try and put this new technique into practice. This time, he didn't take a sprinters stance, as it would be troublesome to do so in combat. Instead, he let his body fall forward momentarily, before using his legs to drive forward towards the other end of the strip. Sure enough, using his ankles and feet more than the other muscles seemed to help. The rocks steadily dragged along as Logi ran to the other side and surprising speed. Feeling like he had the actual technique down, it was time to test this shit out without the weights. Logi untied the rocks from his legs, and took off his ankle weights. It seemed as if he almost didn't weigh anything. Once again at the start of the grassy strip, Logi dashed forward. Sure enough, the speed was incredible. He had made it half-way across in what seemed like a flash. The speed was mind-boggling, even for Logi. Feeling like he had accomplished his goal for now, Logi left the rice field after a quick tidy-up.
