1. Tavern
The overall tavern is fairly large, the second floor Is comprised of the guest rooms and a wrap around balcony that is open to the floor below, it has a large railing so that drunkards who are staying the night don’t fall over, and well to keep the suicidal ones out of the building when they drop. The walls are lined with hardened Sand that holds the wall together. The whole thing originally being made by a Wood User from a far away land, since he has passed the wood seems to degenerate faster. It will have to be replaced in a few years, and a decade at maximum. The lower floor is also made of wood and ha small drains under all the tables, this is for the spilled drinks so the entire floor doesn’t have to be mopped. The lower level though having both tables and a bar is half empty for both dancing and events that may be held there. On the far left of the building just near the doors holds the corkboard mission board filled with missions waiting to be grabbed by the greedy hands of non-ninja’s. under the floor is a large amount of sand, so there I no possibly of adding a cellar, instead they placed the cellar a few miles away from the tavern in a place only the owners know, this is because there is a small amount of solid ground, which people would want to steal, and because they have a crud load of liquor underneath that. To keep everything cold they’ve hired a Ice and Water user named Kaz who uses his techniques to ice, cool and wash all the glasses and plates used at the tavern. Also featured is a Once-a-week band filled with a few misfits and the rest are just really bad karaokers. The outside of the tavern unlike the inside, is rather lined with brick to keep the building as sturdy as possible against the enraging sand storms. The tavern only has a few regulars but since it is in the heart of the city, gets new crowds every day.
2. Bar
The bar is Maintained by Kaz, who as stated earlier is a Ice/Water user and cleans/cools plates and glasses that are used inside the Tavern, the bar also serves as a double kitchen with a stove, small fridge, and a container that maintains meat and other poultry products. The back like mot bars is a mirror, though it is made completely out of sand, and a few glass racks that hold a few bottles of “You-name-it” liquor. The bar is around 12 feet long and holds up to 8 people at a time on each of its seats.
3. Main Floor
The main floor is the area with both the dance area and the tables. In all there is 24 tables that hold up to 5 people and there are always extra chairs stacked up on the side just in case. The dance area is fairly well lit and can have up to around 70 people dancing within 2 feet of eachother, it is wide and spacious though it is the most unused part of the bar, usually has a few “Fold-up” tables and chairs around them.
4. Second Floor/Staircase
The second floor is really just a carpeted wrap around balcony that is comprised of 16 doors, 14 are guest rooms, one is for the owner, and the other is for Kaz, the bartender. The staircase is basic wood and it curves at the top to save space on the main floor.
5. Guest rooms
Guest rooms are basic 9x10 rooms each with a small cupboard for clothes, a wash basin for cleaning clothes, a basic flushable toilet with a fold-up wall to block you from view, an optional wheel-in T.v. as well as a desk for storing things. Other then that there is a small Twin sized bed in all the rooms except for the owner’s and a small wooden chair that is usually under the desk. The rooms are lined with the sand and a small window on the far side of each room. There is a stained dark red carpet on each of the floors and they are only dirty from old age as Marietta cleans them every day with her Wind/Water jutsu.
NPC’s
Kaz: Male 6’7’’, 250 lbs., Age: 20, “A” Class Ninjutsu Master, Ice (Master), Water (Master), Kempo (All-Belts/Master) Kaz has tall, spikey black hair, that sort of shines in the right light. His eyes are as blue as the sky. His skin is pale, but not too fair. His facial structure and body type are quite normal. His headband is usually worn around his left arm, covering an elaborate yet symbolic tattoo that wraps around that area. Sometimes doesn't wear the band.
The tattoo starts from the hidden mist marking and leads into waves. If one looks closely, the waves are the points of seven swords. The swordsmen are men that he admires, and who's ranks he one day hopes to join. He himself has a blade, said blade is carried across his back. When he isn't carrying it, it's within reach.
He wears a black hoodie, without sleeves. Then there are his standard blue ninja shoes, no surprises here. He has a scar across his left eye, neighbor's dog clawed him for no reason. Lastly, he is usually found reading the latest issue of Make-out Paradise. Generally carries the book in his left pocket.\
Owner: Male 6’0’’, 225 lbs. Age: ??(Looks 40), All other stats Unknown. Who doesn’t like a mysterious owner? He has an athletic body; rather average in terms of muscle distribution. His arms and chest are slightly more muscular simply because of the efforts of using a scythe/polearm in rapid movement. He has dark brown hair cut down to about his ears, and brown eyes with gold/green flecks in the iris. His skin tone is somewhere between Caucasian and tan; his body never processed out the melanin obtained while living in the Land of the Wind.
He likes to wear baggy clothing, usually in blue, black, or dark green; his primary outfit is a hunter green top with larger sleeves, a black obi sash, and dark-green camouflage pants along with the typical ninja sandals. He wears his headband around his neck, loosely. He has a bandolier that he wears from his left hip to right shoulder; his scythe is strapped to this, blade down by his legs. Along the front are various pouches for weaponry; he also wears his kunai and shuriken holsters on his right leg for an easy draw.
All Credit Belongs to Ryan, (Usiel is Allowed to use it as well. as long as credit is mentioned)
This large wooden building was constructed from the remains of a once famous boat. It is now divided into three floors; the ground level is a public house. The upper level sleeping quarters for guests. The third and final floor is the residences of the live in staff.
Difficulty to acquire this tavern’s location:
A large constructed that is well known by the locals of the area, and even some several miles away, a testament to the popularity of the tavern extremely easy to find for anyone who inquires about a place to sleep, drink or missions.
Outer appearance:
As previously noted the main body of the tavern is that of a ship a galleon to be exact, a mighty battle ship that once ruled the waves until the inevitable rise of the ninja villages. With the majority of seaworthy missions now being assigned to ninjas it was no longer a profitable business and so was turned into a tavern. As a direct result of this the ship has several exterior markings, from its numerous encounters at sea and the process of bringing it to land.
Ground floor:
This establishment has two floors that are open to guests. The ground level is the large tavern area where the majority of drinking, socialising and partaking of missions occur. A melting pot of cultures the tavern prides itself on being one of the most easy going environments in the surrounding area, due mainly to the large quantity of sailors who attend and the inherit influence they have.
The main room contains six to seven tables depending upon the amount of customers the tavern is expecting. Several small rooms are connected to this main area, for the more discreet clients who may wish to get away from the hustle and bustle that goes hand in hand with a happy hour.
The whole area is well lit, via the use of several oil lanterns that are enclosed in a glass frame secured firmly against the walls. Due to obvious reasons, guests are not permitted to tamper with these lights, nor should they ever need to as the staff in most cases would be happy to oblige to an adjustment that the client desires.
The bar, ([white]denoted by the M reference point on the layout.[/white]) is located in the north-west corner of the tavern, formed from think layers of oak it has seen many a drink spilled and as such is heavily stained. This feature will always be manned by at least one member of staff, almost always the captain.
Here beverages and snacks can be ordered, along with the acquisition of missions. One need only ask the barkeep or captain, about rumours of a possible mission, this typical results in him either showing a mission log if the client has left town on a ship, or he will direct you towards the client themselves. Although the captain is generally tight lipped a number of clients will insist that you meet them for the mission rather than leave it in the log, usually because they are of a more sensitive nature; Assassinations, black mail, etc.
First floor:
Many ninjas and other well sort after travels are often lodged at official guilds, however this doesn’t include everyone. Some people choice to pay for the hospitalities a tavern offers, and in this case a room at ‘The Styx Oarsman’. Due to its nature of catering to such a large audience there is two different classes of room.
The first consists of a raised hammock, access to a blanket, pillow, and use of the first floor bathroom. Three of these rooms are available for a small fee the activity from the lower floor provides natural heat ensuring the client remains warm.
The second option is to rent a whole room obviously this is more costly but provides privacy for the client, included in this package; one or two beds depending on the room requested, a covered chamber pot, and some minor amenities if desired. Four rooms of this nature exist.
All rooms have a sturdy locking door, along with a small window in keeping with the ships original design.
Second floor:
This section of the tavern is off limits to all clients. It is the living quarters for the majority of staff, consisting of several bedrooms, a kitchen, a small lounge area that they can relax in and the captains study.
Food and refreshments:
The menu is wide and designed to suit almost any class of client. At the lower end of the scale you could expect to purchase baked turnips, water or apples, where with a high budget you could seek to purchase meats, pastries, stews and vegetables.
As for refreshments wines, spirits and ale are severed both of the full strength and watered down variety again depending on the amount a client is willing to part with.
Entertainment:
Although there is no set schedule for entertainment, there will often be clients who take it upon themselves to play musical instruments or host a game of cards.

The Winking Skeever
The Winking Skeever is a well-known Inn in Hi no Kuni perhaps forty or so miles south of the capital city. The symbol of the tavern is a rat that holds a overfilled mug of ale in one hand and winks at you with his left eye. It is set at a crossroads of several important roads which carve their way through the Land of Fire and rests within a growing town that was built upon the trade done at the crossroads that has been mentioned. The tavern doubles as an inn and is known as one of the first buildings of the growing village and thus has the most business and contributes the most financially.
The building is owned by the Tarag family, which has, in recent times, become a financially stable family and on the edge of becoming affluent in the country of Fire. The current incarnation of the Tarag family and owner of the inn is Targal Murdal who currently resides in the country capital as a real estate mogul and small business angel-investor. All the employees of the Winking Skeever are directly hired by Murdal or his associates and he is occasionally seen at the inn sporting extremely fine clothing and ushering free drinks to those who might hold political or economic sway.
The building is two floors and, as figured by the construction adept, made of the same wood and thus assumed to be built all at the same time. The first floor is contributed to the tavern itself while the upper rooms are dedicated to those who wish to stay at the famed inn overnight. These rooms are where the inn first received its wealth and fame and the budding tavern on the bottom floor is a result of the aforementioned success.
Because of its flourishing fame the Winking Skeever is not a cheap bar. It's prices border that of the famous and well-to-do which contribute to the fact that most of the participants of the bar are flourishing or famed merchants that use the roads as passage-ways to the capital and their other sell-points.
The tavern and inn are often busy and during the spring and summer are surprisingly packed. Merchants and other well-to-do travelers know to book rooms in advance on dates when they know they will arrive at the inn. On particularly busy nights the Winking Skeever has been known to keep the townsfolk awake until the sun rose and the party within the tavern finally grinded into a halting silence.
The Bottom Floor: The Tavern The Tavern itself is perhaps 16x16 meters in size, a grand total of 256 square meters. From the stand-point of the door, which is on the south side of the tavern and is a door of heavy oaken build on thick, iron hinges, the bar is to the immediate right and the rest of the tavern is dedicated to round tables. The tables are of equal circumference and are able to hold 6 guests comfortably but have been known to feed up to 10 on an extremely busy night. On nights where there is room to allow such, scented candles and modest bouquets of flowers are placed. The stools of the tavern are often replaced and resultantly well-made and often kept in good condition. There are no chairs to be found in the tavern. The walls are painted a light creame color and the walls are full of window-paned windows.
From the ceilings hang multiple chandeliers. The chandeliers are of iron make and branch out to a total of sixteen, iron bars which curve out to form a circle. The ceiling itself is perhaps 3 meters tall where the chandeliers hang down to roughly half a meter. They are placed well enough to provide an extremely decent lighting in the tavern so that no corner is dark.
The tavern is plain enough with only one room dedicated to the masses. To the north side of the building, across from the main doorway, there is the single staircase that leads to the second floor. The rest of the room is built upon a birch wood flooring that matches the birch wood walls. The flooring, however, is not painted but is the natural color of the birch wood.
The bar is to the right of the door and is made of plastered wood which has been finished with a glossy touch as to avoid any spillage sinking into the fine birch wood. The bar is about one and a half meters tall and the stools that surround it are much taller than those that surround the table. The stools have footrests at different heights on each side as to satisfy any customer at any given height. Behind the bar are shelves of liquor ranging from the finest of wines to the cheapest of tequilas. The bar is also, on the barkeepers side, made up of several shelves where mixers, condiments, and other specialties are kept. Unfortunately there is no kitchen and no food served at the tavern; only drinks.
The tavern, on busy nights, can become quite crowded. There is a main "road" from the front door to the staircase where there is a gap of tables 2 meters wide. It is this, on busy nights, that becomes the main passageway for all of the drunks. Cliques often surround the tables, which number to 16, in impenetrable circles with rush-hour traffic conditions between the tables. If the tables were descried as impenetrable, than the bar is the strongest keep in the world. Often surrounded by four to five rows of women and men, the bar is considered the most crowded and inhabited place in all of Hi no Kuni. Rows upon rows of pushing men and women, the bar can become a place where someone is likely to , and is not completely alien to the happening of, the trampling of people.
The north side is devoid of tables and is dedicated to the storing of stools. Stacks of stools, often up to the ceiling during the winter and fall, line the entire north wall and are usually placed around tables during the other seasons. In the middle of a wall is a staircase whose stairs match the flooring of the tavern. The staircase goes north half of the way and then a small platform is dedicated to the top half of the staircase which goes the opposite direction: south: up to the second floor. The staircase is an extension of the building and is thus separated on all sides, except for the entrance and exit, by painted walls. The staircase also leads to the basement much like it does to the second floor.
The Top Floor: The Inn The hallway which leads to every room that the inn contains is a U-shape. If one were to enter the hallway, which the only entrance from the tavern is the staircase, they would go north for perhaps 5 meters before facing a left turn which leads to a subsequent hallways only a meter in length and makes another left before facing another 5 meters in length. The hallway, in this sense, is separated into three segments. The first segment leads to two doors on the left and four doors on the right. These are made of a thinner oaken wood and each locked with an Excellent rated lock. The second segment leads to one door on the right. The third segment has two doors on the left and three on the right. The third segment also has one door at the very end of it.
The typical inn room, which make up all of the rooms except for the one that is reached by the second segment, gives way to a small room. Each of these small rooms has a single toilet in which to go to the barthroom, a small wardrobe, and a queen sized bed with a straw mattress. Every room has a window from which to look out of but is devoid of much else other than that. There are large chairs, padded and stuffed, within each room.
The single room that is called a "suite", the single door reached by the second segment, leads to a room housing three separate rooms. One of the rooms is a deluxe bathroom which has access to a shower and a toilet. The second segment is an extended bedroom with a King sized mattress. This particular room has two chairs. The third room of the Suite is a library with several books upon three tall shelves and a desk with an inkwell and quill that is constantly filled and changed out.
The Basement: The Storage Room The Storage Room doubles as a storage room and wine storage room. Kegs, bottles of wine and the such are stored here in the basement. It is almost always locked and only accessed by the north stairwell that leads both upwards and downwards. The lock here is of Masterwork quality and the key is only held by one of the barkeeps. It is here where casks and kegs of wines, beers, ales, and the sort are stored here en masse. In the summer and spring it is almost nothing but a room full of the aforementioned where specific kegs must be navigated to only through keen scrutinization of the inventory which hangs upon a single clipboard near the entrance. All containers are marked with what is contained inside.
NPCs Tom & Mark Brandybuck
Tom and Mark are D Rank Taijutsu masters and of the Futokongo Bloodlimit. Given that, they are twins and look exactly alike. They stand at about 5'8 and weigh somewhere around 180 lbs. attributed to their beer bellies. They are both bold, have bold noses, and thick lips. They both have brown eyes. Together they are like clockwork and seamlessly work the bar. They silently work, and rarely speak, and cater to every whim as if their life depended on it. During the busiest of their days, they seem to work like ants.
Barmaids
There are several barmaids that tend to the inn. They are responsible for taking orders, delivering such orders, and bussing the several tables. Martitha, Yokoro, Matilda, and Shareen are all barmaids, non-combatative, who take care of the tavern. They manage even the busiest of nights with ease and are paid well enough so that they consider this their career.
Hyuuga Torallo
Torallo is the bouncer of the bar and is a B-Rank Taijutsu master. Upon his forehead is the seal of the dominated in the Hyuuga bloodlimit and knows nothing of the Gentle Fist technique. A trained boxer, he keeps the peace of the tavern. He stands at 6' and weighs somewhere around 200 lbs. He is bald and has blue, stern eyes.
