Secondary Items
Kunai (Overview) (5 slots)
Rank: "C" Rank
Type: Secondary, 2 per Slot, Combative, Projectile/Melee, Knife
Effect: A digging tool, a bit like a trowel. The blade was soft iron and unsharpened because the edges were used to smash plaster and wood, to dig holes and to pry. Also used as a knife.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: The kunai is conventionally wrought in ranges from 6 to 8 inches, with the average at 7 inches. The kunai was used by common folk as multi-purpose gardening tools and by workers of stone and masonry. The kunai is not a knife, but something more akin to a crowbar. The blade was soft iron and unsharpened because the edges were used to smash plaster and wood, to dig holes and to pry. Normally only the tip would have been sharpened. The uses to which a kunai was put would have destroyed any heat-treated and sharpened tool like a knife. There could be multiple kinds of kunais such as handless ones, or even double sided kunais as long as they are within the same length.
Limit: These types of items may be capable of being bought inside any Weapon Shop.
Cost: 1,000 Ryo per Slot, or 500 Ryo Each.
Hira-Shuriken (Overview)(5 slots)
Rank: "C" Rank
Type: Secondary, 15 per Slot, Combative, Projectile, Shuriken
Effect: Is a concealed weapon that is generally for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Hira-shuriken is constructed from thin, flat plates of metal derived from a variety of sources including hishi-gane (coins), and kugi-nuki (carpentry tools), and generally resemble popular conceptions of shuriken. In modern popular culture, these are called "throwing stars" or "ninja stars". They often have a hole in the center and possess a fairly thin blade sharpened only at the tip. The holes derive from their source in items that had holes - old coins, washers, and nail-removing tools. This proved convenient for the shuriken user, as well, as the weapons could be strung on a string or dowel in the belt for transport, and the hole also had aerodynamic and weighting effects that aided the flight of the blade after it was thrown. There is a wide variety of forms of hira-shuriken and they are now usually identified by the number of points the blades possess.
Limit: These types of items may be capable of being bought inside any Weapon Shop.
Cost: 1,500 Ryo per Slot, or 100 Ryo Each.
Grenade: Fragmentation (3 slots)
Rank: "C"
Type: Secondary, 1 per Slot, Combative, Explosive, Grenade
Effect: A grenade with a heavy metal casing that shatters, on exploding, into fragments that travel at high speed and with great force.
Special: ---
Drawback: May harm the user if not thrown right.
Description: The fragmentation grenade (commonly known as a frag) is an anti-personnel weapon that is designed to disperse shrapnel upon exploding. The body is made of hard plastic or steel. Flechettes, notched wire, ball bearings or the case itself provide the fragments. When the word grenade is used without specification, and context does not suggest otherwise, it is generally assumed to refer to a fragmentation grenade. These grenades were sometimes classed as defensive grenades because the effective casualty radius of some matched or exceeded the distance they could be thrown, thus necessitating them being thrown from behind cover. Fragmentation grenades have a killing radius of 5 meters with a wounding radius of 15 meters. It takes 6 seconds before it explodes.
Limit: These types of items may be capable of being bought inside any Weapon Shop.
Cost: 1,500 Ryo Each
Grenade: Smoke (2 slots)
Rank: "C"
Type: Secondary, 1 per Slot, Combative, Explosive, Grenade
Effect: A Grenade that gives off thick smoke when it explodes; used to make a smoke screen or to mark a position.
Special: ---
Drawback: May harm the user if not thrown right.
Description: Smoke grenades are used as ground-to-ground or ground-to-air signaling devices, target or landing zone marking devices, and screening devices for unit movement. The body is a sheet-steel cylinder with emission holes in the top and bottom. These allow the smoke to be released when the grenade is ignited. Two main types exist, colored smoke (for signaling) and screening smoke. It fills an area radius of 15 meters with thick smoke. The smoke may come in different colors if the user wishes. Different color smoke could be used for information value if need. It takes 6 seconds before it explodes.

Character Depth
Personality
Tekato spends most of his time training, and therefore has few friends at school, and even less that he hangs around outside of school. He is a kind person and loves to help others, he won’t usually complain about chores or a mission that requires something simple like catching a run away dog. He can be very naïve about social things, like he doesn’t always catch when someone dislikes him. He definitely cares, but he might not necessarily know. He is very intelligent. He uses his intelligence in a spontaneous way making split second decisions vs making plans. He is able to make a good plan but does so rarely. He is a natural leader, but is not confident in himself to do so well. He acts confident fairly well, but is usually quite unsure of himself. His intelligence is both his weakness and strength, as he is often prone to over think.
He is disciplined for his age because of his training, but for his family he is the unruly one. His brother is very serious and his little brother is already becoming more serious than he is, but Tekato’s somewhat goofy personality seems to rubbing off on Hiro since they spend a lot of time together. He loves his family more than anything because they are his only friends and the only people he is close with. He considers his older brother a rival because of their closeness in age, and respects his father above even the Hokage (though the Hokage is definitely up there).
He has strong morals for right and wrong, especially when it comes to life and death. He is well beyond his years with his understanding of the reality death and the pleasures of life. This wisdom is what keeps him happy, even though he has very few friends. Though it doesn’t stop him from being lonely, sometimes the happiness can be a bit of a mask. He has developed the ability to act happy even when he is not. He doesn’t like to show sadness because he feels it is a weakness. Another weakness is that he will not kill another human who he doesn’t necessarily need to. If he is randomly attacked and there is even 1% chance he can make it out without taking the other’s life, he will take that chance. He will keep his sword on his back at all times, but will never use it to kill unless it is part of a mission or if he is protecting a loved one. When a Shimura unsheathes his sword it means he is not messing around, one will almost never see Tekato use his sword, since he only uses it for the most serious of times when he has intent to kill.
Also he dislikes ramen.

Appearance
Tekato has a more square face, and is very pale with no especially noticeable details. He has big violet colored eyes inherited from his mother. He has thick unruly spikey black hair that rests just above his eyes. He wears a sleeveless tan tunic made of linens, sturdy black pants, black leather gloves, tough black leather boots, and wears his Konoha Head protector around his arm, but will sometimes switch it to his forehead, on a whim.
He is a fairly average height for his age standing at five foot nothing. When one looks at him and estimates his ability they will probably be right, though only if they know he is a ninja. If he is guessed a regular boy he will be vastly underestimated. He is slim and is physically fit and healthy. He tends toward finesse and agility more than anything else. He also always has a gray cresent moon necklace on, given to him from his father in remembrance of his heritage in the land of moon. He has a tan leather butt pouch and a katana on him on missions. The sword is always strapped to his back in a sheath always angled toward his right side, for easy access for his right hand.
His facial expressions range from very happy where he will have a big smile on and doesn’t seem to have a care in the world to sadness where he looks more emotionless than sad, and will not usually make eye contact as he will be looking down at something. When he is skeptical of something he will raise one of his eye brows. Then the rest of his expressions express his emotions fairly generically in the way you would expect. The only exception is when he is being conscious of his body language and he wants to hide it, which he may do quite often, especially when happiness is covering sadness.
He has a scar on his right leg from training, he will often wear a black mask covering the bottem half of his face when being stealthy.
Usually he will be seen walking around with a slight smile out of habit.

Background
The Shimura family was at one time a prominent shinobi-swordsmen clan within the Village Hidden Under the Moon. The first thing they taught the young shinobi of their clan was the significance and value of life, so that from a young age most Shimura learned to appreciate life, and know how serious it is to take that away from someone. This virtue is always taught through the practice and learning of the sword style Gyakusatsu (the sword that takes life) so that by the time they have become adept enough to take a life, they will never do so carelessly (they do not however pay any attention to ranks within the martial art of Gyakusatsu). The shimura clan would specifically hold back some of their students from graduating from the academy until the young shimura passed their exam which gaged their swordsmanship as test the morals they had been taught. This was first implemented when a shimura genin was too hasty and killed someone on a mission a simple reconnaissance mission which nearly started a war. This method ensured responsibility within the clan.
After a Shimura became adept at Gyakusatsu the true tradition of he shimura clan woud be implemented, and that is to create your own sword style forged from your own experiences. This is one thing that made Tekato’s family so unique, no two Shimura had the same techniques. Instead of a tradition that passes down the same techniques like most clans, the true heritage of the shimura clan was to be different from everyone else. This view reflected life, all are born looking almost identical, learning to crawl, then walk and speak, then later you begin to grow and look and act like no other.
Tekato’s father Fadaro was the 18 year old son of the head of the Shimura Yamasa clan 24 years from the time Tekato was 12. Fadaro was a jounin at the time, he was one of the Clan’s finest shinobi. He was sent on an important mission to the land of fire to assassinate the feudal lord there because of information given to their leader about an imminent attack from the land of fire. When his squad got there they were intercepted by Leaf shinobi, it appeared someone knew they were coming. This immediately brought into question in Fadaro’s mind the validity of the information his mission was based on. It broke out in a fight. They were faced against a squad of equal size so each ended up pairing off with another ninja to fight one on one. Fadaro found himself fighting a female ninja, and at first under estimated her abilities based on looks, she seemed too beautiful to be a great ninja. This was actually first for him since he is quite disciplined about not being biased toward an enemy, but he was still an 18 year old guy. He found her to be a formidable opponent, their fight ventured farther away from their squads toward a bridge over a ravine. They ended right in the middle of the bridge using weak taijutsu as both of them had used too much chakra. Fadara refused to pull his sword because it was not his mission to kill her; even though he knew that his flawless technique would compensate for his weak chakra and he would have a much greater chance of winning. The two sent punches at eachother with what strength they had left, leaving no energy nor will to block one’s opponent so the two landed their fists squarely on eachother’s jaw with enough force they both flew off the bridge and fell into the ravine. Both ninja’s legs were mangled and broken, they both lay there in pain, neither one could let themselves be unconscious because of the will to win. Neither one could move so the fact their opponent was feet away from them but hey couldn’t do anything about it made it all the more painful. Fadaro smirked and said breathing heavily “I think we’ll call this a draw.”
She just smiled but was too weak to agree. The two ended up just looking at eachother, as if they were having a conversation without talking. They waited for about 10 minutes, Fadaro felt he had enough strength and got himself up right position to look around, it was about 100 feet to the top of the ravine. He needed to signal someone that they were down there. He took a kunai and attached an exploding tag to it. He threw it up as high as he could until it reached the top of the ravine and activated it with the last of his strength. He looked over at the girl who seemed to have passed out just as he threw the kunai, and no longer had the will to stay awake and did the same.
He woke up in a hospital with the girl from before in the bed next to his. His broken bones were already respositioned back into place and they felt as if they were healing quickly in their casts. Medical ninja must have treated him. He sat up against the pillow and waited for someone to come in so he knew what was going on. He looked out the window and saw the hidden leaf symbol on one of the villages. He was in Konoha. He was later informed by the hokage at the time that they caught wind of the assassination attempt and had a hunch it was fake, but there was no evidence so konoha had to send a squad to intercept them, then once they validated it they sent another to tell them what was going on. The fighting didn’t last for more than a minute before the second squad came, they weren’t informed because they had no idea where they went.
Fadaro was forced to recover in Konoha, and while there he got to know Asami (the female ninja) very well over the 2 month recovery. They developed a thing for each other during their recovery time. He knew he would probably not see her again so he forced himself to not get any more attached and ended up leaving without saying goodbye, and just left a note that someday they would see eachother again.
He got back to the village hidden under the moon in the midst of a raging battle. The village seemed to be in a civil war because he only saw moon ninja fighting other moon ninja. He looked closely and saw that one side was vastly out-numbered, because it was a clan against the rest of the village. It was the shimura clan. He rushed to find his father Yamasa to find out what was going on. He explained to him that the shimura clan was framed by the same people who gave the leader of the village faulty info about the land of fire. They were being accused of conspiring to take of the village. Fadaro thought it was outrageous and wanted to go fight, but Yamasa stopped him and told him that there was nothing that could be done, the evidence was well placed and as hard as he tried he could not convince the village leader otherwise. Yamasa and the leader had always been at odds with eachother to begin with, this seemed like almost an excuse. Yamasa ordered Fadaro to leave for as brave and strong as the the Shimura clan was, not one would draw their sword against their comrade and that ultimately would lead to their downfall. Fadaro understood Yamasa would never come with him, and understood it was his duty to keep the shimura traditions alive in some way, so he in honor of his Clan, he fled the village and stowed away on a fishing boat to get to the main land without attracting attention.
He traveled to the village hidden in the leaves where he was accepted with open arms after telling his story. He married Asami and gave birth to 3 sons, Akira, Tekato, and Hiro. Akira is the eldest, one and a half years older than Tekato. Hiro is the youngest, being fuor years younger than Tekato. All three were raised in the traditions of the Shimura, Akira has been a genin for about a year, and Tekato is a genin fresh out of the academy. He was able to pass his father’s test and is eager to find out who is in his squad.
After a Shimura became adept at Gyakusatsu the true tradition of he shimura clan woud be implemented, and that is to create your own sword style forged from your own experiences.
