Hikaru had made her way into the River Country looking for a specific Tensora master. Her pervious sensei had recommended someone by the name of Su Feng so the Hyuuga was on a mission to find her. To her surprise, it didn't take Hikaru all that long to find who she was looking for. Feng seemed to be well known in the area and were locals were more than willing to point the teen in the right direction. It wasn't long before she found herself looking up at a three story dojo with the word "Sky" painted in blue lettering. This sensei must specialize in polearms. Wonderful!
The Hyuuga walked into the dojo to find a woman leading some kind of exercise group consisting of nine other, younger girls. The lead woman turned her head and said, "if you're here for training, hop in with the rest. We're going to learn the trailing attack today." This must be Feng, Hikaru thought as she unclipped her twin spear and joined the group in whatever they were doing. It seemed like they were going to be learning some kind of strike today. After several minutes of stretching and warm ups, Feng turned to the group and spoke.
"Today, you will be learning the Trailing Attack. You'll basically trail your opponent's weapon and attack their opening. More specifically, you will circle your staff to divert the attack while leaning inwards. What you do at that point is up to you. Alright then, pair up and practice!"
The girls paired up with one another and Hikaru was no exception. She looked at her training partner then decided she would practice the technique first. Well, she didn't really have a choice since the other girl had swung her staff at the Hyuuga without any warning. Hikaru spun her twin spear, knocking the attack aside then moved in. However when she moved in, her partner simply held out an arm and pushed her back.
"You'll have to be faster than that newbie!" Fang shouted from the other side of the room.
Since Hikaru needed to work on her speed of deflection, she decided to have her partner simply attack her for a good hour. This was great practice and by the time it was over with, Hikaru could reliably knock away any strike her opponent sent her way.
