Just outside the city lays the park where the 'Chuunin Exams Organization' has made its home for this year's event. Tents to shelter the crowd have been erected all around the park, in food stalls the cooks shout of the delicious goods they are producing and entertainers of all sorts mingle through the crowd, all drawn to this place by the event along with the crowd. And crowded it is, in the mass of people it is even hard to raise your arms. Although security officers and police are patrolling everywhere small pickpockets, usually children, still run through the mass, leaving many baffled citizens penniless in the midst of the festival. Big screens flicker everywhere, both inside the tents and on many places outside as well. For now they only show commercials, but once the Chuunin Exams would start they would be employed to report the struggle for Chuuninship.
At the northern edge of the terrain lays a lake, with in the middle a building that breezed of tranquillity; a welcome change in the midst of all the bustle. On an artificial island in the middle of the lake a building has been erected, complete with perfectly trimmed trees on small islands around it. It is a prime example of traditional building, possessing the familiar curved roof and elaborate carvings in the wood from which the building has been created. A long narrow bridge, guarded by two naginata armed samurai leads to the island and connects directly to the lowest level, which is nothing but the columns that uphold the roof and the first and only floor.
Only those who wish to participate in the Chuunin exams are allowed beyond the guards and onto the island. It is here at the lowest level that an ebony desk has been placed, right on the grey stone slabs that composed the floor, in front of the only stair to the next level. Behin the desk sat a woman in her thirties, flanked by two samurai. The differences between her and the two guards couldn't be greater, she wore a pink kimono, embroidered with a floral pattern, they wore plain black Tosei-gusoku armour. She had quite a pretty face and long cascading jet black hair, whilst the soldier's menpo's showed nothing but the same snarl and giant kabuto's covered the rest. She was armed with pen, paper and ink, they each donned a katana, wakizashi and naginata. But then again, their jobs were vastly different, she had to register every shinobi who intended to participate in the exams and the guards were there to prevent anyone from cascading the stairs until such matters had been handled.
The upper level was far less spartanic, it had a maple wood floor which was polished until you could see your face in it, lanterns hang from the ceiling, spreading both light and warmth. Low tables, with luxurious cushions grouped around it, were scattered across the room, providing a place for shinobi to sit and converse as they would wait for the event to start. Many open sliding doors gave access to the balcony which ran all around the building and also there had a few tables been placed. With the climate of this country and the warm season the temperature was quite high, even at night. In one corner of the room had a bar been placed, behind which a man was distributing the drinks that could be ordered for free and were then brought to their rightful destinations by three young attractive waitresses.
