One of the priest asked. They both looked at each other and then back to the priest nodding their heads."Well then, if you will follow me." The priest lead them into the temple and down a number of dark winding corridors. The priest stopped at a dreary metal door illuminated by torchlight. He pushed open the door, the rusted metal groaning as it creaked ajar. The priest grabbed the torch mounted on the wall beside the door."After you." The priest said holding the door open for the family. They entered the room one after the other which was rather spacious. On the ground of the room were four pillows for those who were watching the ritual being performed.
Takeo's mother rested the shark on the ground between the pillows where the ritual would take place. The priest circled around the room lighting candles that rested on the ground with the torch he carried. Takeo's father layed down her son on the ground where the shark was in front of him. His mother then popped open the bottle of ink and pulled out a knife from her butt bag. She took hold of Takeo's hand gently and pierced his index finger enough to where the blood flowed steadily. Takeo wailed loudly, causing the shark in front of him to thrash about on the ground. Takeo's mother squeezed his finger over the bottle of ink, dripping the blood into the liquid. She closed the bottle and then shook it up to evenly mix the two liquids. Once she was done she handed the bottle, as well as the bag of incisors to the shark priest. She took a seat on the pillow next to her husband as the priest begun the ritual. The priest used the ink and blood mixture to draw a circle around Takeo 10 meters across. He then wrote the kanji of each of the four seasons at the top, bottom, left, and right sides of the circle. Once the circle was completed, the priest placed all 50 of the incisors around Takeo in a circle. He then grabbed hold of the Bull shark and untied the rope from its mouth. After everything was prepared, the shark priest performed the seals necessary for the ritual.
When the last seal was completed, the circle drawn around Takeo glowed a radiant blue. After a few minutes passed by the shark disappeared, while at the same time Takeo's body changed to a light shade of gray. His mother walked over to Takeo and picked him up, caressing him in her arms. She pushed back his upper lip to reveal a row of razor sharp teeth. She smiled and look over to her husband,"It's done." she said gratefully. She turned and bowed to the shark priest.
The years that followed were rocky to say the least. Once Takeo turned 6 years old he began his training in the spirit and strength of the shark. During the course of his training, Takeo and his mother discovered that Takeo showed a distinct talent for taijutsu. But this didn't sit well with his father. Takeo's apparent lack of the ability to perform ninjutsu at a superb level made his father begin to resent him. As his training continued, and the more he showed a knack for his strength and physical prowess, the more his father began to mistreat him. Every day his father would wait until his mother left the house for a mission, and then tie him to a chair reciting 300 times "I will dedicate my self to my ninjutsu". His father would stress the importance of the spirit of the shark again and again trying to possibly open Takeo's "hidden potential". But he soon realized the method was not working, and resorted to beating Takeo instead. He would tell him it was only because he loved him, and that he was doing it in order to make Takeo a better ninja. Though he was young, Takeo still understand that what his father was doing wasn't completely on the up and up.
Two years passed and after graduating from the academy Takeo only received commendations for his hand-to-hand combat as well as his masterful use of weaponry. The day of graduation, Takeo rushed home to show his father his new headband. But when he arrived his father was passed out at the kitchen table, surrounded by a mountain of sake bottles. Though on days like this Takeo knew to leave him be, he wanted to show his father his headband in hopes that he would be finally proud of him for once. So he approached his father, who was slumped over the kitchen table in a pool of his own saliva. He shook his father's shoulder lightly,"Dad? Dad wake up!" His father stirred, and then rose his head and responded with disgust." What the hell do you want kid?" Takeo took a step back, afraid that he made the wrong decision."Um... I just wanted to show you my headband; I graduated today..." he mumbled, only loud enough for his father to barely hear." And I suppose you're proud of that!" he yelled angrily. He rose from his chair swaying wildly, knocking over the pile of sake bottles to the floor." What do you expect to do without ninjutsu huh?!?!? You limit yourself to the useless art of taijutsu while you have the gift of the shark your mother and I worked hard for so that you could be a master of the water release like your mother! But you just waste your talent on nothing but a bunch of bull-" his sentence was cut by a sudden loss of breath and an overwhelming urge to heave all the sake that sat in his stomach. Takeo pulled his fist back and his father fell to his knees, his face as red as a freshly picked apple." You're gonna pay for that you little bitch!" he growled through clenched teeth. Takeo looked him up and down, as his father remained doubled over on his knees." And I suppose you're gonna teach me a lesson right?" He laughed." You can't even take one of my gut punches!" His father's eyes widened with rage as he suddenly regained his breath. He leaped onto Takeo and grabbed a hold of his neck, squeezing with all his strength.
Takeo swung wildly at his father with a flurry of jabs and hooks as he slowly began to black out. Finally, one caught him square in the jaw, a blow that sent a shock wave through his father's face and sent flying a load of blood and spit from his mouth. With his father's grip loosened, Takeo opened his mouth wide and took a chomp at his father's wrist. His father cried out like a screaming banshee as Takeo dug his sharp teeth into his father's wrist. His father swung repeatedly for Takeo's face, hitting each time. But Takeo's shark skin was too tough for his father's undeveloped punches. Takeo bit down harder and harder until finally the bone snapped clean in two. His father let out another wail and fell to his knees." Please! Please I've had enough!" Takeo released his father's arm and wiped his mouth of the blood flowing down his lip to his chin. Takeo smiled," Who's useless now?" He looked down to his father on the floor writhing in pain in his own pool of blood." I want you out of my house, I want you out RIGHT NOW!" He yelled as blood and spit flew from his lips. Takeo's smile disappeared." You can't do that..." he said," mom won't let you!" His father laughed," Your mother is on a mission for the village, she won't be back for weeks! So you better get out of here now or I'll kill ya myself and say it was self defense!" Takeo froze, realizing that there was no longer any staying at this place he once called home. He grabbed his father by his shirt and hoisted him into the air. He walked over to the wall of the kitchen and slammed him against it, crushing the wood." Then I will make sure you remember me well eh? Make sure you never get to use your precious ninjutsu again!" His father's face was drained of any color he had left," Now wait a min-" but his sentence was cut by another of his ear piercing screeches as Takeo sunk his teeth deep into his other hand.
Takeo bit down until the bone gave in to the pressure and then he jerked his head back ripping his hand off. The warm crimson blood sprayed all over Takeo's face and shirt as his father screamed in agony. Takeo then bit into the other arm that was already mutilated and tore off the second hand as well. He released his father and let him slide down the wall and to the ground. Takeo picked up his father's hands and waved them in his face," Now you're more than useless! You're just a complete waste of space!" he said with a devilish grin."What are you crazy...I think I'm going to die!" his father cried out." Well don't keep going on about it!" Takeo shouted as he turned and headed to his room to pack his things. As he made his way out he grabbed some money from his father's pocket, who was now passed out against the wall. Once he was set he strapped on his bag and walked out the door, never looking back with his father's hands in his own.
Takeo threw the hands into a river near his self proclaimed campsite. He sat by himself underneath a tree next to the river thinking about what he would do now. After a couple of long hours of thinking, Takeo decided from then on he would dedicate himself completely to his taijutsu training while still holding on to his Hoshigaki heritage for his mother's sake. From then on Takeo trained nearly every day, conditioning himself, increasing his speed and his strength. He survived off the street by stealing from markets whenever he couldn't come across any money. Eventually, while near the coast of Mizu no Kuni, Takeo ran into a group of pirates who came to admire his strength. One night aboard the pirate ship, the crew was subject to an ambush. Takeo, who was fast asleep when the ambush began, snapped awake to the sound of combat on the deck above. He rushed up the steps to the main deck to see what was going on. There on the deck was a large battle amongst the crew and the ambushers. Takeo looked to the helm and saw the captain locked in battle with two other pirates, so Takeo rushed to his captain’s side sword at the ready. He and his captain fought the two pirates back to back, holding the enemy from reaching the other. Though Takeo’s strength proved to be too much for the pirate he was dueling, his footwork was lacking, and with a feint followed by a downward slash, the pirate caught Takeo from his left collarbone down to about his right hip. With the shock from the explosion of pain through his body, the pirate took the chance at the opening to slash at Takeo’s face. But Takeo was quick enough to just barely dodge the slash, but still took the tip of the sword, leaving a cut down his left eye. Being met with more pain, Takeo began to lose it. He slashed back and forth, with no real aim, but incredible strength which overwhelmed the pirate. Each time their swords met, the pirate would stumble back because of the sheer force. But after about five blows the pirates sword snapped in two, leaving about a third of its length on the hilt. Giving the pirate no time, Takeo sliced for the neck cutting the pirate down with reckless disregard. He then turned to his captain who stood nodding his head in approval. Takeo smiled back and then he and the captain joined the rest of the crew to take on the other pirates. So for eight years Takeo remained with the pirates, taking in knowledge of how to fight with a sword and his fists. But once he turned 16, Takeo decided it was time to return to the village in order to properly resume his training and perhaps become a highly regarded shinobi.[/ul]

Hira-Shuriken (Overview)
Rank: "C" Rank
Type: Secondary, 15 per Slot, Piercing, Shuriken
Effect: Is a concealed weapon that is generally for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Hira-shuriken is constructed from thin, flat plates of metal derived from a variety of sources including hishi-gane (coins), and kugi-nuki (carpentry tools), and generally resemble popular conceptions of shuriken. In modern popular culture, these are called "throwing stars" or "ninja stars". They often have a hole in the center and possess a fairly thin blade sharpened only at the tip. The holes derive from their source in items that had holes - old coins, washers, and nail-removing tools. This proved convenient for the shuriken user, as well, as the weapons could be strung on a string or dowel in the belt for transport, and the hole also had aerodynamic and weighting effects that aided the flight of the blade after it was thrown. There is a wide variety of forms of hira-shuriken and they are now usually identified by the number of points the blades possess.
Limit: These types of items may be capable of being bought inside any Weapon Shop.
Cost: 1,500 Ryo per Slot, or 100 Ryo Each.

Rank: "C" Rank
Type: Secondary, 15 per Slot, Piercing, Shuriken
Effect: Is a concealed weapon that is generally for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Bo-shuriken was constructed from a wide variety of everyday items, and thus there are many shapes and sizes. Some derive their name from the materials they were fashioned from, such as kugi-gata (nail form), hari-gata (needle form) and tantō-gata (knife form); others are named after the object to which they appear similar, such as hoko-gata (spear form), matsuba-gata (pine-needle form) while others were simply named after the object that was thrown, such as kankyuto (piercing tool form), kunai-gata (utility tool form), or teppan (plate metal) and biao (pin). Other items were also thrown as in the fashion of bo-shuriken, such as kogai (ornamental hairpin), kogata (utility knife) and hashi (chopsticks), although these items were not associated with any particular school of shurikenjutsu, rather they were more likely just thrown at opportune moments by a skilled practitioner who was skilled in a particular method or school.
