- Koodori Retsu (Dancing Cold) [10]
Rank: C
Skill: Taijutsu
Effect: The user strikes with their off-elbow while simultaneously dodging to the side.
Special: --
Drawback: The user ends up close to their foe.
Description: The user steps forward and far to the outside with their off-foot, leaning into the motion to let a strike slip by them without touching them. As they realign themselves, they deliver a punishing elbow-strike with their off-arm, driving it into the opponent’s armpit region. This strike leaves one standing nearly beside their opponent. The user than resumes the stance.
Limit: Must learn from a Gintsuki no Seikou Mai Master. Must know Tentou (To Invert).

Amarantha's taijutsu was severely lacking and as much as she hated to admit it she really favored the Gintsuki style. Thus she found her way back to the dojo. There was so very much to learn and so little time. In truth she was preparing for something and this was her way of doing it. Amara found her Sensei immediately and then they bowed in, getting ready to go. He explained to her the intricacies of the Koodori Retsu technique and demonstrated on one of the other students so that she could see the technique first hand. With that she was ready to give it a try.
They began slowly with her sensei throwing a strike. Amara's off foot, the left, stepped to her sensei’s right and his strike moved past her. She let her elbow glide in and under his arm. The slow version seemed to work well enough though her sensei had something to say about her footing and pivoting. She nodded and took in his words, ready to fix what it was that needed fixing. They rest and began again. He still moved slowly so she could fix her footing. She stepped in and dodged the strike easily, making sure to put the needed rotation into her elbow strike to improve the strength.
As they reset she knew he was going to move faster this time and Amara tried to be prepared. She stepped as he threw his punch. It caught her hair, just barely skimming her but it was enough to set her off balance. Amarantha stumbled slightly and looked up at her sensei. He crooked a smile and reset himself. She did too, waiting for the reprimand for failing but it never came. Instead he fired another punch in her direction and she quickly slid out of the way, putting more distance between herself and the punch this time thankfully. Amara twisted her elbow into his under arm as she moved, so far so good.
However they were still moving at about half speed and she needed to be able to perform the technique in real time if she wanted to succeed. Once again they would take their positions and begin. His punch came in at what was a vaguely normal punching speed, and when Amara say vaguely normal she mean normal for a Taijutsu master of his rank so roughly equal to an arrow flying at you. Amara moved to dodge and got punched in the face for her troubles. Her body weight had stopped the force of his punch so there was or set back for her when if normal, she would have been sent flying backwards.
He was at least kind enough to wait until she had her non shaking knees sorted and then they tried again and she waited, hovering on the balls of her feet, ready to move at the slightest inclination of his movement. As soon as his chest muscles tightened she was gone, flying past him and driving her elbow into his arm pit. Amara didn’t hit hard, she could of but the light tap was all she needed to prove that she could perform the technique correctly. Amarantha knew she wouldn’t have hurt him but there is no skill in muscling someone just because you can, she knew that much at least.
